No, I'm just avoiding racial slurs because of the stigma attached and conversations I've had with friends of mine of other races on the issue. Some of them take issue particularly with white guys saying it because of the fact that they have not been oppressed in a large way in this country for being white. Otherwise, some white guys may say it to "test the waters", so to speak ... See what they can get away with as far as racially derogatory language goes. If I'm talking to a black guy who's my friend, who knows I'm not a racist, I'm fine using it in certain contexts. It's courtesy rather than guilt. And I love racially-charged comedians like Carlos Mencia and Chris Rock, so I'm not uppity about political correctness. I say "black" rather than "African American." I simply prefer not to use discussions like this as an excuse to use the N-word without sounding like a racist. OTOH, "fuck" is simply a word that Puritanical idiots get offended by.
