I just got this CD for Christmas. My girlfriend gave it to me, and it is one of the best CDs I have heard this year. This group could easily turn any of the songs on this CD into singles. Its catchy and original. I love it. But what about you guys? Lets hear some thoughts.

It's all good man, but it's certainly not "original". I think they would crack my top 40 of 2004.

Because many indie and even non indie bands are doing the whole "post-punk dance punk" deal now. It was big in the late 70's and early 80's where it originated. Duh...... :thumbsup:

I can't vouch for their lyrics since I don't listen to FF that much, but there is nothing wrong with the singing. You probably just prefer angsty screaming and moaning or maybe you prefer the cliched "sound-the-same as every other alternative grunge singer type"?

 

FF is certainly better than most bands being played on mainstream radio, but that's where it stops. I kind of knew they would break it somewhat big over a year and a half ago when they just started out. Probably around the time when the Darts of Pleasure EP was buzzing in the underground. So in conclusion, I rather listen to FF by accident on a radio or tv than much of the other crap being played.

I don't agree with the 'lyrical depth' comment. Unless you listen to Bob Dylan or The Beatles, you have no idea what depth even is.

this is a happy subject isnt it? who knew franz ferdinand could rise such controversy. well, im just gonna go ahead with my opinion. i like them a lot. i bought the cd but i havent gotten a chance to listen to the whole thing. i was obsessed with take me out over the summer. and i really like the song thats been playing on the radio lately.
