im not surprised with Bush as president. now you hear on the news ppl are saying he took too long to respond to the tragedy in Indonesia and surrounding coutries. I think it was a total of like 3 days before he responded and some are saying he's not doing enough to help out. cuz also i keep seeing the Secretary of State trying to defend Bush and saying that the U.S. is doing plenty.. something like that.

I hate to break it to you, but we really can't afford to help out. You see, we are fighting a war right now, and weather it was justified or not is irrelevent. What matters is the fact that we have troops to support and we simply can't spare alot. The United States is not Superman, and consequenlty we can't save the whole world. The same thing happened in Liberia because we were fighting the war and couldn't lend alot of troops or help.

And those countries have some gall. Some, including Indonesia, knew thirty minutes in advance this tsunami was coming and they did nothing. Nothing.

And then I felt chills in my bones / The breath I saw was not my own

I knew my skin that wrapped my frame / Wasn't made to play this game

I've read in the paper that they didn't want to warn because of the tournisme will be to much damaged...and they weren't sure about it

better be sure than sorry

about the animals look at a dog when a storm or something else... he's nervous they have sense for that when something happens

maybe we should look better at the animals

Did you know that elephants rescued some tourist while they were on a trip

becuase they knew about the water and they searched for higher ground

Never sigh for better world, it's already composed played and told

That may be true, but I think it says more for the country if we were to not hold back and instead of killing thousands of innocent people to try and save the lives of thousands. Whether or not the people new that the disaster was on its way(which i never heard about) that doesn't account for the lives that were lost. We appearantly new about the bombing of 9/11 but the fact of the matter is, people still died and others did what they could to help out.

the governments in at least indonesia and thailand knew of the tsunami an our before it hit the shores. but still we shouldn't make the innocent citizens pay any more because of that. many deaths could have been prevented but that doesn't free us from our responsibility to come to the rescue for the homeless, sick, poor and devasted.

two friends of mine are nazis and they think this way and don't give a shit about all the lives being taken just because the western rich countries are too cheap to give more. the nazis say: oh, it's their own fault, ahh, i don't care, it's survival of the fittest. that isn't exactly the case here. the poorest countries are down at the bottom because of what the europeans did to the countries in the 17. and 18. century, invaded them like iraq was invaded, just to get valuable metals, food, spices and so on. europeans colonized the nowadays third world and made the third world what it is. it is on the western countries responsibility, being the richest in the world and it counts especially for the countries which colonized asia, africa and south-america

I say natural disasters are a way of regulating the earths population' date=' but we can still help those in need.[/quote']

Its people like you, who lack the sympathy for thier fellow man, that fight wars and have no sympathy for death. Cynicism is cowardice, and rationalizing death is simply inhumane. People like you are the ones who have created the world we live in today. Way to go.

Many, many Americans are giving to the tsunami relief efforts. I think you are mistaken in believing that the American government should give a billion dollars or some other huge amount. America is a democracy, and the people speak for themselves. We are all giving. I don't think its right for the government to not give a decent amount of money, but shame on Indonesia for calling out the US like that; It takes one to to recognize another one. They should have warned those people. It would have saved lives. And even if it only saved just one life, isn't that enough?

Btw: I don't see how all this makes me Nazi..

This is bad...And I am sorry for the people who were involed in it.....But did you hear that we killed over 100' date='000 Iraqis. For every one person who died in Sept 11th, we've killed 5 iraqis.[/quote']

I'm sure that number comparison is far more disturbing when you include everyone killed besides the Iraqis. All the soldiers, American and otherwise, and all the civilians.

And even worse, the people who say the war is wrong are also saying these numbers are meaningless. No matter how you look at it, this conflict has come with a price far more expensive then any amount of money.

i'm not pointing the finger at america more than any other western country and i'm simply saying that our everyday amount to the third world isn't big enough. i can't blame you for anything and not even the american government. my government has one of the lowest percentages donated to the third world. my government sucks, anyway. even reykjavik city authorities have given more than the government and civilians and companies have too to tsunami victims. "oh, none of our citizens died, we don't give a fuck". something like that is going on in the government

i'm not saying you're a nazi, i'm saying the the attitude of one of your comments sounded the way my nazi friends think
