I love The Useed!!! There are so many people that have never heard of them before. That is a real shame because they are so good. As a linkin Park fan i think you would like the used. At times they can be heavy and scream and stuff but at other times the music is piano and soft. It is a real mix. Their lyrics are amazing, for exaple here is the lyrics to my favorite song of their maybe memories from thier first album "the used"

This band is really truly bad. They have absolutely no talent at all. I so happen to see them live on a tv program in san diego and they were just horrible. A monkey with an instrument could play something technically better than they could. And the lyrics are god awful. The lyrics above are really weak. A 1st grade kid could tell you it's not really deep. I highly not recommend this band to anybody with good taste.

The Used is by far my favorite band. I saw them in concert at Projekt Rev. They were great. I just recently bought their last CD, it's increadible. My favorite song is SoundEffects and Overdramatics.

I can't stand them at all. Just this shrill screaming and neo-punk trash music. That "Take it Away" song, their newest singles, sends splinters of pain through my mind. I get a headache whenever I try and watch it. Gah!

Take the flying squirrel out of your donkey ass and let people have their fucking opinion. its not like anybody is ACTUALLY going to change what they think just because of what one random guy ON THE INTERNET thinks. Go ahead and say that you dont like a band but its not all that necessary to jump down anothers throat because of what they feel. Clogz was pretty open about how he felt about the band, and he doesnt like em, but at least hes not badgering someone else for saying theyre amazing. (sorry, hope you dont mind clogz)

I've seen them play a full set on tv. I think I can tell if they are good whether in person or on tv. I play music, I study it. Not only do they lack technical skills (yes....some bands don't need to be technically proficient to write great songs), they have no songwriting ability. And to rub a little more salt in the wound, their lyrics are extremely unimaginative, cliched, and try hard. Try hard? Yes....trying hard to sound deep when they truly aren't.

 

This is just another case of bad music getting praised and it's kinda amusing to me. Why? Because I try to talk, post, open the door to different bands and their music, but most on here just ignore it. I truly believe I am one of the most giving people in this forum. I write thorough and thoughtful posts, I put up songs for download, and I don't cold cut people down with hate and throw around foul language. But I do tell it like it is with my opinion. It's disheartening to see people discuss so much bad music. They rather talk about Blue or Lohan vs Duff, but not ask questions and discuss how good a song "Helicopter" is. It's like tunnel vision. Too focused on one thing, not willing to look at others.

 

So yeah....I will call out people for promoting a crappy band like The Used. It's bad music and people that like bad music have bad taste. That's my opinion and I'm expressing it on a discussion board.

I'm glad you have an opinion. I had one too. And I've discussed my thoughts and I wouldn't change a thing I've said. Just because you have a holier than thou attitude won't make me feel bad. But did I verbally insult you like you and somebody else (Jomama) have down thus far in this thread? No.

 

Why don't you grow up and come back 10 years later tell me you still like this band. Any maybe you won't have to resort to petty one-liners.

Yes you can change somebody's music preferences. I've changed and influenced a bunch of people about music. Many of them couldn't believe that they were being brainwashed and settling for bad music all these years. And yeah.....I would hope you realize I don't really care what you think of me or say about me. You're not going to hurt my feelings. I'm just saying my thoughts in this thread and that's it. Most stories are going to have more than one view. I think everyone that clicks on this thread is entitled to differing views. Not just positive....and not just negative if that's the case. My purpose for replying to this thread was to persuade people from listening to The Used. And if anything d/l it before wasting your money. And if you like them......oh well. That's your deal. Did you even read what I just wrote?

 

1) I said nothing about me being god (I already assumed this ),

 

2) If my opinion means nothing to you, why are you getting bent out of shape?

 

3)I don't hate, I dislike (hate = a word an angst-filled depressed teenager would use)

I also like The Used. Their second album a weaker than the 1st, IMHO, but none the less I think they're a cool band. They are not the best, and they may have their defects, but their music is cool to listen to, and sometimes that's all it takes. I've never seen them live, not even on TV, all I know is their music sounds good enough on CD and I genuinely enjoy their music.
