Do you believe in dreams?

ok..I really don't know if there was a similar thread before, but here goes..

 

Do you try to explain your dreams (or nightmares) and believe their are going to ..like..come true? Or that they mean anything?

My friends say dreams are only stupid imagination and stuff..no meaning.

 

What do you think?

I don't think dreams come true, but I think they have meaning. If you look really hard, all dreams could have some deeeper meaning to them.

I had these awful dream..oh , wait ..i'll call it A NIGHTMARE!!!! and i was so freaked out by it..

 

The idea is that my best friend had the exact same dream .sorry, nightmare..

I used to have that when i was ickle. But instead it was a man who i didnt know who it was. I used to hide in the bathroom and hed come in and look at me and everything would go really hazy and dizzy.

last nightmare i remember was that i had broken my lp cds. i think that's how it was.

 

anyway, dreams mean something, else we wouldn't dream. that's at least what i think. i've dreamt many things that have come true, small incidents, nothing like a car accident or sumthing like that tho

I believe in dreams, maybe they dont happen action for action/word for word but still they have a total chance of coming true b/c whatever u dream about its what u were thinking about before u went to bed. And i think sometimes dreams could be sent by God (or whatever you believe in) to show us what to do in that situation

I think that dreams are the brains playtime and it just runs free and does what ever it likes.

 

I don't think that dreams/nightmares come true 'coz the last nightmare that i had was about a T-rex chasing me around a camp-site.

I think Dreams are real and have meaning, its actually proven that they have meanings,its just impossible to figure out what they mean....for e.g.: sleeping in feathers: I mean what the heck does that mean!!!

no... i don't think they come true... if you want something, you work hard for it... that's how things work... but, they could have meaning... not all dreams though... some dreams (and this is cientifically (sp?) proven) are just a mix of things that we saw, or heard, or thought about recently, in a bizarre un-understandable (is that a word?) way... but, yeah, i guess some dreams could have meaning to them... but not nightmares though... so you don't have to worry... and about the fact that your friend had the same nightmare... well, i think it's just a huge coincidence...

I don't think they have a meaning as it is... I mean, they mean something, but not like to predict stuff that'll happen or so. Dreams are a result of the activity of your subconscient, so stuff you've been thinking about, things that've been bothering you, they all tend to come up in dreams. 'Cause even when you don't want to think about them while you're awake, at night you sort of "lose control" and your mind races through everything it wants. They have all that symbolism (normally we dream stuff a little out-worldish... like the T-rex chasing you, like someone here dreamt... but might have an interpretation for something else) but I think they can hardly tell us what will happen in the future. They might tell you what's going on inside your mind... but not the future, I think. But hey... we never know. Strange things happen.

I think dreams are actually kind of reality. It may seen weird but it makes sense to me. Dreams are so awesome, and nightmares are so scary.... Its so fun to talk about the,. I wish i could record them sometimes lol

I agree with you! I don't think dreams tell us what will happen in the future, but rather what is going on now or before. Although, some dreams may seem like they predict the future. For example, I once had a dream that my best friend's mom's ghost was standing next to me in bed. Well, a few days later I found out that my best friend's mother died. It was freaky. But most dreams are the brain's interpretations (sp?) of what's been going through your mind. Like shirakawa_otori said, Strange things happen.
