When I was in high school there were 3 Rachel's. We were all friends so we hung out together too. To differentiate they started calling me 'Fred.' Dunno why. So in HS I was Rachel 1 (I think I was older by a month or two) also known as Fred or 'Freddie.' Weird.

I used to be into the Smashing Pumkins way back in the day... Rhinoceros, that kinda stuff. Loved their mainstream stuff though. After Melancholy and the Infinate Sadness they just went downhill fast... Never recovered in my opinion. But Billy Corgan is okay solo. I haven't rushed out and bought anything of his though, he's kind of stuck with the 'Superman' stigma. You know how Christopher Reeve was always known as, regardless what else he did in his day, Superman? Same as Arnie being a Terminator. Same deal with Billy. No Smashing Pumkins, no Billy. *shrug*

Not all artists can pull off what Mike (Shinoda) has done with that kind of success. Kudos.

But anyway...

 

And yes you're older than Phi but Viking is older than the both of you. I have triplets and he's the older. Sorry, you've been relegated to middle child. How do you feel about that?

i was watching behind the scenes of aMOTION, and james and jeordie (aka twiggy) were drunk as and they were dancing in their hotel room to club music. then james dressed up as a girl and started singing at one apc concert. Maynard (lead singer) started playing his guitar.

i would make an ass of myself if i ever met anyone from apc/smashing pumpkins.

I've never heard anything by APC, but as we speak, right now, am downloading some song I found for the sake of doing so - 'Imagine.' I'm assuming that's a remix of John Lennon? That man was a god - Lennon I mean. Awesome. Let's hope they do it justice. But anyway, will find out shortly.

 

As for making an ass of yourself infront of those guys? *grins* I reckon I'd be like that at an LP Meet n Greet, straight up. :thumbsup:

they are a great band. i have all 3 albums + their DVD + rare remixes (which i copied onto my ipod tonight).

yeh, everyone thinks apc is gothic cos of their remake of Lennon's Imagine (+ the film clip is better) but they are actually alternative metal. i love the outsider (my LPA username) and other songs.

Paz does good bass in Judith and does a good job on the piano in Imagine. Trent Reznor (lead singer of Nine Inch Nails) co-wrote Passive, which is the soundtrack of Constatine with Keanu Reeves.

They are a talented bunch and have a whole heap of connections in the metal industry.

I'm not a huge get-into-details fan, but hey I love their music, Passive, Outsider, Noose...brilliant songs

And Smashing pumpkins are great too, 1979 is a great song, I also like Zwan, probably more than SP though

Well, checked that site out. Have to admit I like what I hear. Kinda sound still a lot like Tool. Tool meets NIN meets SP. I hear the major musical influences but it's an awesome sound. I like the dark nature of it. 'Imagine' last night got me hooked. I also got '3 Libras', not bad. Yes, take a bow, you've converted me. I'm gonna go see if I can find eMotive next week. That 'counting sheep like bodies to the beat of the war drums' sounds mad... *excited* Only heard like 30 seconds of it but I want that song!

 

Anyway. I'm not that into Zwan. I liked SP. But... *sigh* Well...

 

Hey there son! Yes, you're the oldest. And in being you're also the one responsible for the other two (isn't that the curse of the older child? I myself am the older sibling and that sucks at times! *groan*) Anyway... good to see everyone's doing well by the looks.

ergh i just had a fight with anthea tonight. i got sick of her telling me and txting me that she's bored. so i had a go at her.

i called her lazy (she actually got fired from her job cos she rather see ness and jeremy then go to work) and unrealiable.

im so pissed off.

and cos she got $200 for christmas she went out and spent it. cos im hard on saving, i told her so, and she's like "i didnt know i needed ur permission mum" and im like "well last time i checked, i have money to see Drew"

I'll play Devils Adocate here and say I see her reasons for wanting to spend it but I too am a stickler for saving, so... Ideally, she should have saved half and spent half, it's what I'd have done. Best of both worlds IMHO.

 

But other than that - I can see why you'd get sick of her txt'n you repeatedly being bored. P*sses me off at times when a certain unnamed friend does that to me - often to tell me the most menial things while I'm sweating my butt off at work. And she can't/won't keep a job either, but even today she was like 'Wish I had money to throw around like you,' and I'm like, 'Hello, it didn't fall from the f**king sky sweetie, I actually worked for it, so could you if you got up off your sweet ass and tried!'

Damn... annoys me to no end. Could you tell? *laughs*

 

And I listened to short streams of a few. I downloaded '3 Libras' and 'Imagine.'

Tried to buy eMotive today but was told I'd have to order it in from the States, as usual. *groan* Heard a few songs (in part, in 30 second streamlined incriments) from the 3 albums but have to say eMotive sounds better on the whole to me. The song with one of the longest titles I've known for a song (not quite THE longest, but still up there); Counting sheep like bodies to the beat of war drums - THAT song sounds awesome. Tried relentlessly for hours lastnite to download but couldn't. Needless to say 'Imagine' is on pretty heavy rotation on my MP3 player at present. Like muchly.

 

Anyway, thanks for getting me onto them. Have liked some of Tool's stuff over the years (Aenema and Stinkfist!) and of course NIN so I'm kinda surprised I didn't catch on sooner but *meh* got sidetracked by LP I guess. Thanks for converting me! *hugs*

I'll let you know when I get the album soon enough *cross fingers* in like 6-8weeks time.
