Guys from the States ALWAYS say they think British accents are nice and "hott", but eh, they don't realise that THEY are the ones with the sexy accents <3 Ahh, I could listen to an american guy talk about nothing all day. It's so cute lol. Ahh I'll shut up o_0 It's my thing lol.

 

I forgot about the Soccer and football thing as well. That use to confuse me a lot lol. American football looks like rugby here =D Scary guys tackling each other ¬.¬

 

We also spell words different. As Suicide King pointed out lol. Colour and color. There's also the Doughnut and Donut one. Omelette and Omlet. Center and Centre. Theater and Theatre (American words use "er" and England use "re") Favour and Favor. Memorise and Memorize. Recognise and Recognize. (American words use "ize" and England use "ise") Our words are longer ¬.¬ No fair!

For some reason the soccer one kinda annoys me. (Think it's cos my dad is an avid footy fan - I was brought up with it.) It's not *soccer*, it's football! Sorry. That's just a peeve of mine!

I heard that accent once on a game between Liverpool and Fulham in the English Premier League. It was really weird, maybe it's cause all the guys from Liverpool were drunk lol

That's so true! I myself love and ADORE American accents... hmmm... *goes all dreamy eyed* I just lose myself in it... *sigh*

But what I find interesting is what words we Australians use to call;

 

woman ----> sheila

man ----> bloke/fella

children ----> kids/tin-lids, ankle biters, etc

 

I like to think of the Australian language (not our coloquial 'slang') as a bastardised hybrid of English and American anyway, Hehehe, that's an ecclectic mix.

How about;

 

Toilet ----> John/Loo/Dunny/Thunderbox/S***house/Outhouse etc

(Why we have so many words for that one I'm not sure I want to know)

 

And not to offend anyone, but;

 

Americans ----> Yanks

Frenchmen ----> Frogs

Englishmen ----> Poms

(And they're the nice versions! Hehehe! Oops! *holds tongue*

Hehe! That probably didn't help! The Liverpool accent is funny (I don't mean that offensively btw.) Everyone used to tease me cos I had a thing about the accent for aaaages... hehe. I'm strange.

In the US they say Lieutenant(lootenant)

But in Canada, England, South Africa etc. They say it LeFtenant

i wonder what my "accent" sounds like because i'm american, but i think it'd be cool to hear myself from your point of view. british accents are nice. by the way i've never heard of a condom being called a rubber, lol.
