Why do people hate LP so much?

i can see where everyone is comming from. but to say that Linkin Park is bad just cuz they aint hard core is wrong. I love bands like NOFX, Rancid, and Good Charlotte. I love bands like LP and Korn. But with the GC fans that hate the LP boys, well i got some news for them, Billy Martin the guitarest of Good Charlotte actualy likes Linkin Park. in one of the GC vids, I think its Festivle song, but you can see both Brad and Chester. Hmmm dosent that mean that the two bands are friends? if you think about it, if the two bands are friends then maybe they would want their fans to be friends too? it just makes me mad when people are always trying to say something about someone. Its like my brother always says, If you can't say something nice, then shut the hell up. but you know there are always gonna be people trying to start something.

That's true. For all the Korn fans that hate LP, they seem to forget that Jonathan is on the remix for 1 Stp Kloser. And that Chester is returning the favour on Korn's new 'Kovers' album, by singing on a cover of NIN's "Head Like A Hole".

I discovered that not many people like them either, in the rock chatrooms, in the metal ones, in the rap ones. It really gets on my nerves when they don't even give a valid reason. it's just "Oh, stinkin park are a bunch of faggots".... Uhh yeah, that's why half the band have gfs and 2 of them are married o_0 *It is 2 right? Mike and Chester?* Don't let it get to you though =D

 

I'm not a fan of Korn or heard any of their music so I wouldn't know =) People always say LP aren't hardcore enough, they're too soft etc. Maybe we like that. Not all good music has to be some heavy trashy music with a lot of noise.

 

Other peoples opinions doesn't matter. They're obviously missing out on the good stuff, and if they can't see Linkin Park for their brilliant music, what can we do about it =P We saw it all and that's why we're all here ^.^ Heh, let them go on, they're all deprived children =P.

 

The comments that they make about Linkin Park are horrible though. People are just hypocritical when they start flying these pathetic insults about. We all know better.

Many people are followers, especially when it comes to music and fashion trends. If people start getting the impression that a band is looked down upon, then they say that they don't like that band just to fit in (even if they really like the band). If they see certain bands that seem cool to listen to (Bob Marley, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Sublime for example), then they say they listen to those bands to fit in. People try to mold to what they think will make them look cool. Seems like this kind of thing is going on with many of you who hear a lot of ppl talking trash about LP. If it makes you feel any better, I haven't met anyone who hates LP around my area... In fact, in the past couple weeks, I've heard them blasting in 3 different cars at my college. I hear it all over the place, and everyone I talk to around here loves em. You should move to southern california. =]

 

What it boils down to is caring what other people think. If you like certain bands, thats Awesome... listen to it. Most people just try to follow the trends to fit in.. and to many people LP seems like its old hat/outdated. Don't give in to the trends, listen to what you like and try not to worry about what others think about it. There are plenty of people out there who think LP is just as cool as you do.

a lot of the ppl at my skool just listen to the music that is played on the Top 40 each nite.......they claim to love one singer/band one week and the next week its some other band........i seem to remember when Breaking the habit was first realeased here every1 at skool was talking about it and listening to it etc.....

My friend that goes to another school said that no one in her school likes linkin park because of the whole jay-z thing. Poeple can be retarded a lot of the times, i brought my "Meteora" CD to school, which i listen to in my CD player of course, but anyways..We had art and the art teacher allowed me to play it. So i did, and well some people were glad that i put it in, instead of listening to the radio, but theres this one guy in my class who just doesn't like LP, if forget what he said before but today he said he can't stand Chesters voice.

 

Which kind of pissed me off because Chester has an awesome voice. But yea..

I for one don't care what people think about LP, if someone hates LP and feels the need to shout it from the rooftops then I'm not going to waste my time on them, because all they are doing is proving their ignorance. Mark Knopfler said in his biography that for someone to really appreciate music, and to understand it enough to make a valid comment then they must listen to all genres... obviously these people haven't 'cos anyone who listens to LP properly cannot fail to appreciate the genius that is LP. There is no band that can pull of nu-metal the way that LP have managed, and yet they have done it in a style that is all their own, there are enough of us fans out there who realise that, and the opinions of those who like to dis LP don't matter to me. I talked my father into listening to all the albums, and he hates rap, and initially hated the album, but after a few listens he managed to appreciate the music, and now loves it, and he's ancient, so if he can open his mind to sheer genius then why can't everyone? Simple answer, because they are narrow minded and aren't willing to give something a little different a try. To Mike and the gang... keep going lads, and don't change for anyone, what you have done is amazing and brings happiness to millions!!!! :thumbsup:

well i can tell you that the LP guys dont conform to anyones rules. Linkin Park is the only thing that my art teacher will play since its not that hard core heavy metal, its not strait up rap, and its not that creepy techno stuff. And most people in my art class like it since it has something for every one. then of coures theres this gay guy named rashad that dosent like them because he says that "none of them look like they would be good in bed." (yikes.) Now if thats not a stupid reason to not like them, I dont know what is. of course my teacher also thinks that mike is a hot guy (well he is) but people who dont give a legitament reason to why they dont like linkin park really makes me ticked. but hey every one is intiteled to their own opnion except when it comes to trying to start things between bands. and for the people that dont like them because they arnt this or that, that is what makes linkin park unique. They never said that they were anything.
