o0SugaxNxSpice0o Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 i have a really little question: what's the difference between 'maybe' and 'perhaps'. is there a difference? I'm pretty sure they're both the same thing. It's like a possibility, or an chance. You could also use "Possibly", they all mean the same thing  Quote [broken External Image]:http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/9765/newsig2qs.gif It's Jen!!!

Klaudia Posted April 26, 2005 Author Posted April 26, 2005 I've always thought English was the easiest language. It's a national language isn't it, the majority of the world are speaking it ^.^ French for example, there's like... masculine words, feminine words, plural words. It's all confusing and about 4 ways of saying "the" & "I" etc. You have to use different versions for different contexts depending on what you want to say =( Thank god I dropped French. Chinese looks a million times harder than English. Have you seen those words? Bloody hell >.< Each word is a different meaning, you actually have to learn to write the words and learn the meaning behind it. There's no way to actually "read" it like in english because they don't have an alphabet or something? Sorry, in my opinion it really does look hard lol. Urgh and polish lol! It looks scary. I don't think I could attempt any other words after "Chesk" (sp?) ('Hello' in polish). Sorry for my long input. I find languages facinating, I just can't learn them very well. Vash and Misery basically answered your question  LOL, yeah, polish is very hard to learn We have 7 cases! (in german only 4!), also feminine, maskuline and neuter words, times, ends of the words, plural forms, and ortography. It's hard to learn when we have to write "z" or "rz", "a" or "om", "u" or "o", "h" or "ch" and so on. I live in Poland and I've got sometimes problems with it and not only me... I tried to teach polish Germans and Danish, but they couldn't have spoken a lot of words or when they said it was very funny listen to them "Hello" in polish is "czesc" but I don't use our letters, it should be "cześć", but I don't know if you see polish letters. Quote Wszystko, czego pragne w zyciu, to szczescie...

Yes, but do you have 7 cases for nouns as well? German only has these for der, die and das ("the" in German) and what, adjectives? My language has got four as well, but also for all nouns, pronouns, everything. That's a lot, but not really if you compare it to Finnish, which has 16 cases and no prepositions. 4everLP_Shinoda Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 Oh, thanks No, I don't think that english is the hardest language to learn, I think chinese, finnish, polish or even german is more difficult than english... I second that 2(at least I would find them difficult 2 learn). Btw,thanx for starting an English thread,I´m difinately gonna watch this thread as many times I can cuz it´s gonna be useful for me,I can even ask something in here when I have a doubt, right? And as for your questions,my answer 2 u is that they are well asked, and as many ppl said in here if u use "May",it will sound more proper and nicier but it´s just me. Quote

The thing with Finnish is that it's not related at all to the other Scandinavian languages. Polish and Icelandic are a lot more related for instance than it is to Finnish. Actually, aside from Icelandic and Faroese, Nordic languages are pretty simple and easy, at least if you work hard enough trying to learn them. 4everLP_Shinoda Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 Sorry 2 bug u all but I was wondering if u can give me a hand in my english h/w.I have 2 write this article about chocolates(I´m not kidding),and I don´t have any ideas 2 write about. My english teacher gave me some titles 2 start the article and I´m between "Confessions of a chocoholic" and "Could you live without it(chocolate)?",so I´m not decided yet,so if u can give me some ideas 2 write about it,I would be happy for it. Once again sorry 2 bug u all and thanx in advance. Quote
Klaudia Posted April 30, 2005 Author Posted April 30, 2005 Does any one know what means "legal tender"??? I don't know much about the chocolate. You got the stupid titles. Maybe you should mention the facts about the chocolate for example which countries are chocolate-lovers or in which country people have discovered it, but I find this titles more creative. They're rather to say your feelings and thinkings than to write facts. dunno. If I were you I would take the second one "Could you live without it?" 4everLP_Shinoda Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 Thanx for the help Klaudia:thumbsup: Quote
Rusu_luvs_LP_4ever Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 dude has any of you tried learning japanese or chinese...it isn't that hard...just because you have different characters it doesn't mean anything. 4everLP_Shinoda Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 I have always thought(and still)that Japanese is one of the most difficult language 2 talk and even 2 write!!I would drive insane if I had 2 read something in Japanese. I wanna learn how 2 talk Italian tho,may be it´s cuz I have listened 2 lots of songs from Tiziano Ferro(I dunno if any1 knows him),he sings balads and another reason why I wanna learn Italian is cuz it´s kinda similar as spanish and portuguese. May be I will give it a try:p Quote

Klaudia Posted May 1, 2005 Author Posted May 1, 2005 So who knowns what means "legal tender"? Quote Wszystko, czego pragne w zyciu, to szczescie...
4everLP_Shinoda Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 So I was talking 2 Hybi on msn,and I told her about my h/w that I decided 2 post it in here cuz I wanna know what u think of it besides I would like any1 to correct me the grammar if possible. Here it is: These were the titles *My idea of heaven *Confessions of a chocoholic (I chosed this one) *Chocolate: Society´s acceptable addiction *Could you live without it? Confessions of a chocoholic Have you ever asked yourself if you can live without chocolates? I have, because I think that Summer is the least season when people eats them. During Winter season, people tends to eat as many chocolates as they can, besides it makes them feel good with themselves even though they feel guilty after eating them. In my case I would have to admit that I´m a chocoholic person because when I was a child I remember I tasted chocolate for the first time and then I became addicted to it. I´ll never forget the time I visited a chocolate factory called Fenoglio, because the people who worked in there, they were constantly offering us chocolates and every time they did I accepted them so after eating to many chocolates I started to feel sick. My mother was angry with me because of what I did. Although I´m a person who likes chocolates, I´m allergic to them so I try not to eat as many chocolates as I can. In the other hand, eating lots of chocolates is not a good thing because they are very high in fat and sugar, so the more chocolates you eat,you will be able to have a heart disease or other problems such as tooth decay and obesity. In order to conclude with this article, chocolates always makes people feel good but my advice is that they should eat one bar a day Note:It had 2 be between 120-180 words but I did a lil more than 180,cuz I never can´t do less than 180 words.Btw should I change something?or if u guys have any ideas plz let me know. Thanx in advance:thumbsup: Quote
