another update

 

New Year's eve was awesome...at least the last hour was. Mayra invited me to her house to eat turkey, so I went. January first also happens to be her birthday and I got her an awesome necklace. I should have taken a pic of it to show all of you, but I didn't think about it. Anyway, dinner was great and I was glad I had decided not to eat earlier. I had a first taste of some type of liquor or some alcoholic drink. I still don't know what it was, but I know it was some type of wine or something because it burned my throat slightly as it went down. In her family you were supposed to eat 12 grapes within the first minute of the new year and if you did it right you get 12 wishes. I don't even remember all mine, lol. I stayed until about 4 am. Later, after I woke up Mayra, her nice and one of her sisters and me went to the movies to see The Pursuit of Happiness. Great movie. Then we just drove around and hung out until I got sleepy at 11 and went home to go to bed.

 

Today I called Mayra and one of her relatives said she was in Huston (about four to five hours away by car.) I asked when she would be back and the person replied that they thought Mayra was moving to Huston. I'm pretty sure the relative had her facts mixed up because Mayra had already signed up for classes at the local junior college where I'm going, so she couldn't have moved to Huston.

She did move to Huston. A few days after I called her house she called from her relative's cell phone. I was so mad and upset, but I spoke to her using my fake-happy voice. So she's gone now, probably won't call for a long time. Then the next thing that predictably happened was that the girls who were available when I was dating Mayra are suddenly not available anymore. And the next unsurprising thing that will happen is that Mayra and I will see each other or we'll talk on the phone at a very inconvienent time for one or both of us. One of us will be with someone else with a 70% chance it's not me with someone else.

Things will be kinda jumbled because I'm just remembering stuff that has happened, so I'll try to date it

 

December last year

 

When we were making the long, long car trip to Grandma's house, (9 hours) halfway there something hit against the back passenger window of the van and shattered it. We never saw what it was, but luckily the window didn't fall completely apart while we were looking for a place to repair it. There thankfully was a place and we spent 5 hours there waiting for a new window. Good thing we have good insurance, and I also was glad my ipod battery can last 8 hours.

 

Monday, last week

 

The start of my fourth semester in college. It was a cold day, just the way I like it.

 

Tuesday

 

The temprature went down below 30 degrees. That doesn't happen often. And it was raining ice so all the schools in the whole area except for the school my mom teaches at (she teaches first grade) and the college. I didn't mind having school, after all I only had one class that day. My car was covered in ice about an inch thick. It took about 25 minutes for the ice to melt off the windshield using the defroster. And for the windows I just rolled them down and pushed the ice out. By lunch time they decided to cancel afternoon classes and shut the college down until the weather improved, so I didn't have to go to work. At about 4 or 5 in the evening they decided to cancel classes for the next day.

 

Wednesday

 

There was no school, no church, nothing going on. We decided to invite some people over to play games. They had no power, so they wanted to go where it was warm. The ice started to melt and we noticed that our tree in the backyard had split in half. That would have been awesome to see it happen. I tried to take a picture of it, but my phone is too uncooperative. Oh well.

 

Thursday

 

Classes resumed that day. I was already late for class and still looking for a parking spot when I thought I saw Mayra. I didn't get a good look at whoever the girl was, but I am prepared in case it really was her. I should know by Tuesday if she is here because there's a meeting with the Student Activities. If she is there, then a hornets nest will flow from my mouth. If not, then I have nothing to be mad about. I still don't know if girl I saw was Mayra, but it pays to expect the worst.

Today nothing exciting happened. I got scared in computer class though because we learned about an orginization that keeps records of everything you do and shares some of the private info to buisnesses and companies. Kinda scary.

update:

 

Yesterday as I finished class I started to prepare myself to see Mayra at the Student Activities meeting. But, I saw her sooner than I expected. Once she said hi to me, all the anger melted away. I'm glad it did otherwise I would have made a huge mistake. So everything now is peachy.

 

Last night as I was playing with my laptop I noticed a message that said "one or more of your wireless networks is in range" I didn't know what that meant, so I clicked on the icon. Upon doing that I found out that I can connect to the internet FOR FREE with my laptop. Only problem is that the connection speed is very low, but at least it's better than nothing. I was even able to hack into a secure network by using the password 0123456789, (can you believe the idiots who make such obvious passwords?) but it wouldn't let me connect to the internet. Oh well.

lol, I was just messing around and decided to do that password. I don't know if it actually worked though because it wouldn't connect me to the net. I might try a different password later. It actually asked for a network key and I have no idea what that is. Anyway, after a while on the free internet it bumped me off and I couldn't get back on. Is it possible for the server to deny access to my computer? Or could it be the low signal? I dunno which, but Saturday I'm going to test it in the college library when my parents are playing games with their friends. On Saturday's not many people come to the library so if it does work I can do whatever I want without being disturbed.

 

In Mayra related news, she declined a request to go to the Valentine banquet sponsored by the church on Feburary 10th. She said she would if it wasn't just older people there (which I didn't think about before I asked her otherwise I wouldn't have) and we're back to doing stuff at the spur of the moment, which I enjoy doing

After digging deeper into the secure network connection thingy I noticed that it wouldn't let me connect to the internet because it didn't recognize my computer's ip address. I wonder if there's a way to make it think differently...

Anyway, my life is great. Anyone know the song High of 75 by Reliant K? I'm sunny with a high of 75 since you took my heavy heart and made it light, and it's funny how you find you enjoy your life when you're happy to be alive That's how I feel.

Update: I am an idiot. I did a system restore on my computer for no reason at all. Then, when it was about 1/3 completed I decided it was taking too long and pulled the plug. Now when my computer loads it goes to the picture on the desktop and can do anything else. So, is there a way to get everything back myself? I don't want to take *another* trip to San Antonio for a while.

 

Despite all of this I'm still happy

that also happened to me...I had to erase my harddrive to be able to work again...if you have 2 harddrives just copy the important files to one and then erase the other one where you have windows(or whatever you use) installed...but after that you would have to install everything again...so...that would take a while..

I have been very very busy with school and work. I'm glad I was finally able to have some free time today. Anyway...

 

Mayra and I are now no longer dating, but she has become one of my best friends.

I took my computer to Best Buy and they said that the software, hard drive, charger, battery, and motherboard were all on the fritz. They said all of that couldn't have been caused by the System Restore incident.

what else...the whole month of February I had sinus trouble, but now I'm finally starting to get over it and I can finally breathe.

Everything is going well with me. I was able to get through all 19 hours of college classes with 2 B's and the rest A's. But never again will I take so many!
