Rage Against the Machine

Anyone else here like them? I think they were an excellent band. Their songs had great messages in them. They had very good guitarists. I think both musically and lyrically they made worthwhile songs.

 

Any comments anyone else would like to add?

That was the first album I purchased, then I purchased The Battle of Los Angeles. I'm currently looking for "Rage Against The Machine" and "Evil Empire".

In my rebelious post-pubescent days, I was into them, Loved 'Bulls on Parade' and 'Killing in the name of', still do in fact. They rock, hardcore.

BTW, if you're interested, go hunting through eBay. I'm not plugging them intentionally, but I've come across a crap-load of CD's there for LP so I'm guessing RATM would be the same. I have to add though, I'm not too fussed on their new splicing with Soundgarden (forming Audioslave) They're okay I guess, but don't have the same... something that RATM did. Or Soundgarden for that matter. Just my opinion anyways.

RATM are one of the greatest bands out there. Besides the fact that their music is breathtakingly good, their message to the world and their work in search of justice will never be thanked for enough.

 

Being an anti-authority band, the US government cashed in on 9/11 and banned all their songs. They've always stood against authority, and they were right to do so, with most of todays authorities (US or not, not pointing any fingers) being fairly abusive of their power.

 

RATM was a very political band, we need those. They also begged their fans not to harass female members of the audience when they were playing, so I can't really find the bad side of this band. We need someone to point out the bad sides of the world, why not by music?

 

I've got one album by them on CD, and all on my computer. I've got their self-titled album on CD, that's fit, because that's the best one if you ask me. Bombtrack, KINO, Know your enemy and Wake up are timeless classics.

 

It was sad to see them break up, but being my age, I didn't follow music at the time. I'd say Audioslave is almost as good, but as Ravyn pointed out, they lack the spark RATM had. I'm eagerly waiting though for Zack's new stuff, that'll be very interesting.

They were a great band. I have their self-titled CD, and I think it's an amazing work, great music and great lyrics. It's a shame they broke up. Audioslave are far from being what RATM were... at least in my opinion.

im into both Audioslave,Soundgarden and RATM.

Chris Cornelly+Tim C,Brad Wilk,Tom Morello is a great combo,*sighs how i wish to be Chris Cornelly* his got the looks,his got style and he can sing. i think Tom Morello is the one that creats the spark thing for me,the crazy sounds he makes with the gutiar is just awesome.

lol, i never knew the gov shut em down. nor did i know audioslave is a splice of RATM and Soundgarden lmao. I'm so behind the times.
