The Memories Don’t Seem To Fade

A bus zipped past me. My hair blew freely in the wind. It was a windy afternoon and I hadn’t much time to get to the bus stop. I stared across the street, my final destination. I saw a glimpse of Brittany. I shook my head and she was gone. *Flash Back* “Hamid, what is happening to me? I feel…I feel so ill. Ever since that convention I haven’t been the same.” Brittany lay on the bed. I was packing my clothes in a suitcase. I turned to her. I laid my hand on her forehead and quickly pulled it back. “Oh my God! Brittany you’re boiling. We need to get you to a doctor.” *Flash Back to present time*

I took a deep breath and stepped onto the bus. My cell phone stated to ring. I pulled it out and looked at the caller ID. “FIONA” it read. I pressed the on button and lifted the phone towards my ears. “Hello?” “Hi Hamid? Are you there?” I couldn’t speak. “Yes.” I managed. “Ok, well…LPF wants to throw another convention. I think Chris want to use this to cover up what happened at the previous one. Are you up for it?” The phone dropped from my hands onto the floor. “Hamid? Hamid?!” The phone went dead. Memories of the past convention flooded my mind, Treeves and me being captured, everyone dieing; it was all too real. I fell from the seat and onto my knees. I watched everything around me blurred. I started to breathe hard. The sky darkened the world around stopped spinning. I looked up. One limp light dangled from the bus roof. I looked out of the window. My eyes on met rain and darkness. The bus stopped and the doors opened. I stepped out on to the cold hard concrete. I had no clue were I was. I looked at the huge buildings. They were old and filled with graffiti. Snickers rose from the back of me. I turned around to see who was there but it was no one. I walked down the street and saw a sign bent up and on the floor. It read “Welcome to Fort Minor”.

It’s Okay To Cry

I woke up gasping for every last bit of air. I was just a dream, just a dream. I looked at my clock. It read 4.61 A.M. I lied back down and stared at the ceiling. Than it hit me. I turned back and looked at the clock. It read 5.01 A.M. I stared at it hard. I sat upright on my bed and turned on the television. “Well, Tom looks like Aberdeen, Maryland is in for alota rain.” I turned it back off and walked into my bathroom. I looked into my old dirty mirror. I ran my fingers across the scars on my face. My stereo turned on and I turned to look into my room. No one was there. A soft playing song began to play. Little children were singing. But it wasn’t joyful. It was eerie. Chills violently took turns running up my spine. I ran and turned off the stereo. But it continued to play. I unplugged the stereo but the music did not discontinue. I ran my hand threw my hair. I disconnected the stereo speakers, which proved to be useless. I looked under my bed and retrieved my bat. I sung and bashed the speakers and the stereo until the music stopped. I was breathing heavily. That was the forth time this week it happened. I pulled on a pair of black jean and a black t-shirt. I grabbed a blackish gray button up shirt, and put it on. I grabbed my wallet and keys and headed out. I locked the door and walked out onto the wet streets. It was slightly drizzling. I stared at the ground as I walked. Flashbacks of the previous convention ran through my mind. I kept on remembering being tied up in the cave and the demons torturing me. And all I could think of was Brittany. Her face kept me alive. I walked onto the slippery and muddy grass. I knelt down and rested my hand on the tombstone. I pulled a rose from my pocket and laid it in front of the tombstone. “Rest in peace Brittany.”

Fiona

I walked down the street from the graveyard. It was an apartment complex. I looked for the last name Grace and then pressed the button next to it. “Hello?” came a small voice from the speaker box. “It’s me Fiona.” There was a slight pause. “Ha…Hamid?” The door unlocked and I entered. I walked upstairs onto the third floor. The door was open and I walked in. A tired and worn out Fiona stepped into my view. She grinned and walked towards me. I opened my arms and gave her a hug. I sat down and she brought me a beer. “It hasn’t been the same since 5 years ago. Ever since Shah and Rusu…died, I’ve kind of given up on life. It’s not easy being the cheery girl you guys know me to be.” She looked down towards to the ground. “What happened to you Hamid? You used to be so happy, so cheerful, so…so you. Now, ever since Britt…” “I’ve given up Fi. It’s not easy. Watching all my friends die. Watching the girl I wanted to spend my life with die in front of me. Knowing that I as a man was so powerless to save her. It…it just put things in a good perspective I guess.” She stared me in the eyes. I couldn’t look at her. “You know what I called you here for Hamid. Right?” I looked up at her. “Isn’t it obvious? Fort Minor.”

An Unwanted reunion

I got in her car and we drove down to Reston, Virginia. There was an old complex in Cristopher St. I got out and walked up the old broken steps. And knocked on the door. The door slightly opened. “What do you want?” “Is…Treeves there?” I voiced softly. “Tree...? OH! Zeh white boy yes…Poor kid die of infection. He get shot up and have no insurance. Kid bled to death.” I stared into the eyes in the crevice. The was a slight pause. “Are you Asem?”

“Azem, yes.” I was shocked to know that he knew my name.

“Wait here boi.”

The man ran up the stairs. I heard a coupld of slammed doors. The he came back down and opened the door all the way. He was an old man with a white tanktop on and a beer belly. He handed me an envelope. I held it and looked at the man. “Thank You.” I said clearing my throat. He nodded and slammed the door. I walked down to the car. Fiona stared at me. “Where is he?” She stammered. “In a grave.” I replied softly. She whimpered softly. I opened the envelope. In it, it read, 4160 Newslife St. I looked up at Fiona who was covering her face to hide the tears. “I found out where Vash lives Fi.” She looked at me with her eyes wide open. I grinned but she frowned. She pointed at me. “Duck!”

Blood Shed

A baseball bat slammed through the window. I ducked cover my head. “What the FUCK!” I screamed. I pulled out my gun from my coat pocket and jumped over to cover Fiona. I shot a couple of bullets into the body of the person who was repeatedly attacking the car. Fiona opened her door and got out. I got out right after her. Held my gun up aiming at the person with the bat. “Who the hell are you?” I demanded. The man gleamed. “Azem, you don’t remember me?” I stared at him wildly. “Don’t call me that!” The man dropped his bat a pulled out a gun. “Now were even!” he sneered. Then it hit me. “Matt?” He frowned. “I much rather have Misery but if you want Matt will do. He shot me in the arm cuasing me to drop my gun. Blood spewed everywhere. Fiona shrieked. “I want Fiona, Zem. Gimme her and know one else gets hurt. I squinted trying not to give in. “No! You’re not taking anyone!” He grinned at me. “Oh and you my friend are in perfect shape to stop me now aren’t you?” He shot me again and I fell to the floor. He shot Fiona in the leg as she tried to run. “Shadow!” He screamed. A young lanky girl walked into my view. She looked down at me and then kept on walking. “Please, take Ms. Grace to the trunk.” She looked at him. “Sure thing babe.” She pulled Fiona up and dragged her to the trunk and hog-tied her. The car sped off. I rolled on the ground clenching my arm. No! He took her. There was nothing I could do. I heard footsteps and looked up. A guy with blond hair helped me up. “Are you ok?”, he asked. I looked at him. “Does it look like I’m ok?” I graoned. He took me to the E.R. and I had to get stiches on my arm.
