uwantme2b Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 How many of you guys have jobs, and where do you work? It is unbelievably hard to get work in my area. Is it that hard all over? Jobs should be made more accessible for everyone, and there should be work for people who don't have as many qualifications as others. I was trying to get a job for the summer, but by the time I find one, the summer will be over. Qwest Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 There are a TON of government and government contract jobs in the US. I work for the U.S. DoD as a Network Systems Engineer. (http://www.disa.mil) Of course I was in the Army before I got this job but after I became a civilian again I found out about all the gov civilian jobs out there and grabbed one quick Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/8ccf4d69b6805f847fd8104b3eaee20d.png [broken External Image]:http://www.lapgamer.com/lapgamer_banner728.gif

nkramar78 Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Operations whosi whatsits now? I sit in front of a monitor tracking shipments, finding out why they were delivered late and yell at those who screwed up. I also get to take money away if I deem expenses to be too much. (But I don't get to keep any of it.) It fills 40 hours, pays the bills and allows me to keep up with my rather expensive habits (collecting LP items, among others.) Quote

uwantme2b Posted July 12, 2005 Author Posted July 12, 2005 Seems that some of you are also having trouble getting jobs. Why is it so hard? I haven't been looking very long, that's true, but everyone I talk to about work says it's hard to find a job. I might end up getting a Saturday job, and fitting it around my A-levels. :/ Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/9b54002b9ea728de39c3770316d52169.jpg Shark picture by Graham Lambert Rep me please :-)

uwantme2b Posted July 12, 2005 Author Posted July 12, 2005 Most of the people i know that have jobs say it wad pretty easy to find one. I think it just depends on what job you're looking for, what area you live in and how qualified you are. The town I live in is practically jobless, and the jobs that *are* going are unsuitable for what I can do. I'm having to look elsewhere for work, but then employment has always been pretty bad around here.
