Well guys, I have come to a conclusion about my involvement in this project.

I'm going to play this under a 25-75% mentality. The 25% is going to be here, & sharing, while the 75% is going to remain trading. Saying that, whatever I get in trades, I shall share no more than 25% of it.

The way I see it, we need to try to fit every known show into a category... This is where it becomes a little tricky, but I'll give it a shot.

 

Audio/Video not allowed:

Addressed first because the last thing we want is to get anyone in trouble. This is anything copyrighted - audio, video, etc. that's available officially for sale. None of this should appear on anyone's tradelists. We all know we have some stuff that falls under that category, let's keep it out of circulation out of respect to the band and WB. Included, but not limited to official albums, DVD rips, LPU CDs, etc.

 

Common Shows:

These are the ones that have been on websites, P2P networks and even sold on eBay for some time now. Included, among others, would be RaR 01 and 04, Orlando 00, the Dragon Festival, Nottingham/Rock City 03, BBC Radio 1, MTV 2$ Bill Show, etc. - The one's we've all got and can pretty much see is on everyone's lists who trade. There should be no question as to the status of these... They should be shared in any format we have, solely based on the fact that people shouldn't be making money selling these when they've been available for free for quite some time.

 

Uncommon Shows/Rare Shows:

This is where it becomes tricky. Once I have a show, it's no longer rare to me but for someone who doesn't have it, my list becomes a target of a trade. This is where we need to clearly define what should be shared and what should be traded only. This is where we need to draw the lines and compromise on this.

 

My thought would be to gather any number of lists from random traders. If over half (a majority) have a show on their list (in any format), it should be elligible to be shared freely. If under half, trade only. Thoughts?

I just think for people who just wanna hear LP live, the very common shows are enough... like u (Nick) wrote (Detroit, Notthingham etc.). These are mostly even good-sounding (SBD) shows.

 

I thought about setting up a FileServer in mIRC... I would've shared some audio/video shows (I mean I will, just need a better internet connection). And, I think about 50, 75 or even more shows are kinda common...

 

But I dont really think shows like Tokyo Zepp 2001 need to be shared... I guess the leechers just donwload every show they can, they prolly dont care... And the guys who just wanna have/hear some LP live shows, it's fine for them with the common shows... (and the LP communtity had sites like linkin-inside, I think there was enough). I think it prolly makes more traders unhappy if they see these "rare" shows shared, maybe it was "hard work" to get them...

 

=> And I think, like Th30racl3 wrote, if all show will be shared, how is it possible to trade for new shows then?? Some tapers prolly want uncommon stuff...

 

Whatever, everyone can do what he/she want with his/her shows... there's nothing I can do. Try to get the-untitled back, or something like chestersings.com or linkin-inside.com... sites like this are satisfactory enough for "the community" (in my opinion) :thumbsup:

well my brain was thinking about some thing. Ok, why do i need really rare live concerts? Ok now if it sounds good yes. If it has some cool/innovative(Mikes ear peiace) yes...if it sounds diffrent then yes...but if it just is another concert...then really you should just keep it...really the only rare audio i want...is like stuff...LP doesnt have on there CD's such as the earpiece thing(which i got). Instrumentals. High Voltge Docklands(Its not rare but it has a unique sound). Rare demos. Really i dont see the problem with keeping just ordinary concerts to yourselves just becuase only one person ever recorded it or something.

The rare stuff u guys should be lookin for is like i sed...Instrumentals / Demos / Accapellas / Rare Performances(Like A.01-however its spelt- Live) / Unique Way of Performing A Song(Like How Mike PLayed BTH on Piano) / Or really good performances
