I had braces in 3rd grade for only 9 months and only on 4 teeth. That wasn' bad at all. But retainers suck ass. I never wore mine cause I hated it. I'd get braces again though because I think my smile is ugly and it might help.

They tried to put braces on me, but as far as I was concerned I did NOT want to deal with metal wiring, rubber bands, and plastic in my mouth for the next 4-6 years. I'll stick with my four crooked teeth.

lol I'm getting braces this month before school... My teeth are really messed lol yeah I have to get a few teeth pulled out and I heard the braces hurt for a few weeks

^ They just gave me headaches. Thank god for Tylenol and Motrin. I couldn't live without them.

I had never used braces,I do remember that I wanted to use them when I was like 7 because my friends were using it:eek:I know it´s very weird lol:eek:

I have braces right now (got them on in June) I think I am going to have to wear them for next 2-3 years

i had braces for 4 years =)

also this expander thing in the roof of my mouth where you twist the spanner in my mouth clockwise twice in the morning and twice at night it made all my teeth become funny looking 0_o

I've luckily never had to wear braces and I hope I never do, they would annoy the hell out of me. Are they something you *have* to wear if you're told you need them, or can you get away with choosing not to have them? Just out of curiosity.

I had braces for 1 1/2 years... I've had them off over a year now.

 

I think if you need them they strongly advise you to wear them.. but I think you do have a say in it. I chose to wear them when asked though... I wanted nice teeth lol.

yer i got asked and im hell yea i want nice teeth, and then like then next day when i went to skool in my english class everyones "lets see" "open your mouth" "what colours did your get" and im like wtf? i only got teased once for having braces and thats was by richard, i shut him down so bad, hes like "you got braces, haha" and im like "id rather have braces and get nice teeth, then fucked up teeth like yours!" i felt so proud thats i shut him down! but people are pretty cool about braces, they dont tease anybody anymore.. which is good..

How come everybody was so interested in your braces? 0_o I mean... I couldn't really care what colour somebody's braces are, that's just weird.

It depends on why you need them. If you have a problem like overbite, crossbite, etc then you should really get them or you could have problems later on.

no, they use a MARA to fix overbite, I know because I have one in at the moment

Ya I had braces since I was in the 1st grade. I finally got them of in like the 5th or 6th grade and I'm still wearing my retainer( by choice) I'm afraid of my teeth moving. people were always interested in the color it really is weird.
