skategreen Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 I started to derail a thread with this question and thought better of it. RO says........ Personally, I think we should go after Robin Williams. Crime? Not ever, ever being funny and called himself a fucking "comedian". REALLY? You don't find his ability to ad-lib absolutely unparalleled? Amazing? Brilliant? So who DO you like, RO? Who's funny? Who's yer favorite comic? Do you laugh at/appreciate George Carlin? Steven Wright? (2 of my favorites) ...Alonzo Bodden ? I wonder if we can pigeon hole/sterotype and then dismiss our fellow board members by their Comic of Choice. Let's try. Whoddoya Like? Quote The thought manifests as the word. The word manifests as the deed. The deed develops into habit. And the habit hardens into character. So watch the thought and its ways with care. And let it spring from love, born out of concern for all beings. - Buddha
Phantom Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Is this thread only for RO or are well allowed to answer, too? I love Mitch Hedberg although he recently died of a drug overdose. Quote Blah.
Ahhlee Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Seth MacFarlane - creator of "Family Guy". I think he's a genius. Quote
ToriAllen Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 I love Eddie Izzard and John Leguizamo. I also think the Wayans brothers are hilarious. Quote Smart men learn from their own mistakes; Wise men learn from others. I refuse to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed man.
eddo Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Robin Williams is one of the funniest guys out there, and Stephen Wright is hilarious. Some of my other faves are: The Amazing Jonathan click here for pic Jeff Dunham Click here for pic Brian Regan Click here for pic Quote I'm trusted by more women.
phreakwars Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 John Leguizamo, Adam Sandler, Sometimes Jim Carrey, Larry the Cableguy, Will Smith, Jim Belushi, Robin Williams, Steve Martin, Rodney Dangerfield, Andrew Dice Clay, and my favorite (and possibly a lost relative I idoliize)... SAM KINISON. All funny.. Not funny: Bob Sagat, Jerry Seinfield, Tim Allen, Howard Stern, Alan Alda, Alf . . Quote https://www.facebook.com/phreakwars
RegisteredAndEducated Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Dane Cook is pretty funny... "Tell me those are not hundred foot tall.... oh fuck... those are hundred foot tall native Americans... America, we had a good run..." I also think Carlos Mencia is funny... Lewis Black is pretty good... There are tons of funny fuckin people out there... sidebar: I like alot of the comedians mentioned above, I just didnt want to repeat anyone! Quote Intelligent people think... how ignorance must be bliss.... idiots have it so easy, it's not fair... to have to think... WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE TO BE AMONG THOSE FORTUNATE MASSES..... Hey, "Non-believers" I've just got one thing to say to ya... If you're right, then what difference does it make, it wont matter when we're dead anyway... But if I'm right... Well, hey... Ya better be right...
Phantom Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 I also think Carlos Mencia is funny... But he spends HALF his act explaining himself. If he believed in what he was saying and truly thought it was funny, he wouldn't spend half of his act, of every act saying things like... This is funny. Fuck you if you think this isn't funny. Ya, I see a lot of you cringing over what I just said. Fuck you! We need to bring down the racial barriers with humor. Fuck you if you are offended. We as humans need to laugh at ourselves. Blah, blah, blah. Quit explaining yourself and tell some jokes, you beaner! Seriously. Watch him next time. Any time. Half of his routine will be him going off on a tangent consisting of him defending himself- when no one in his audience is probably offended to begin with. Quote Blah.
skategreen Posted January 13, 2007 Author Posted January 13, 2007 Is this thread only for RO or are well allowed to answer, too? I love Mitch Hedberg although he recently died of a drug overdose. The opening bit was for RO, the ending bit threw it open to the Unwashed Masses. I love a good comic, I love listening to a comic who gets me laughing and then - keeps me there. Good comedy is so singular. It's sharp, it's turning the world on it's side for a brand new view - for a Brand New Thought. I admire new good new thoughts. I'll do a snoop of YouTube for some of the comics mentioned - y'all can post links if you're of a mind. Many of my favorite times and memories are of really good, deep, unending laughing fits. hugo Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 I prefer low-key, deadpan type comics. Bob Newhart and Jack Benny come to mind. Steve Martin, Robin Williams and Jim Carrey stink. Peter Sellers was great , I will not watch the Pink Panther starring Steve Martin. Best group: Monty Python Quote The power to do good is also the power to do harm. - Milton Friedman "I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents." - James Madison

Peter Sellers was great , I will not watch the Pink Panther starring Steve Martin. Best group: Monty Python I prefer a more subtle approach as well. Robin Williams is far too hyper of an attention whore for my taste. I love Monty Python, too. I also enjoy watching Michael Ian Black and Hal Sparks on the "I Love the ......." shows on VH1. Quote
THE BITCH Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Eddie murphy is definetly up there with the greats Quote
