Sayoko Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 I was wondering this, Whenever your listening to music do you pay more attention to the beat, the words or both?? I pay more attention to the beat. Like I'll be dancing to some song with nasty lyrics but the beat is really great....... http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/23ac9fbe3e234f00b6d65c089408bf0c.gif Rawr. My old account.
Brkng_Th_Hbt Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 I definatey listen to both. they're both important to me although i just started listening to the drums more than anything when i get very familiar with the song. v v v v[broken External Image]:http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/3880/bannervq9.png click here for buttsecks
Dark Angel Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Both. First I pay attention to the lyrics, and if they aren't that bad, then I listen to it some more and start breaking the beat up. (Like the guitar or drums) [broken External Image]:http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y94/fantasyhorse/NnyBanner2.gif I'm sorry I don't subcomb myself to your fashion If life were simple, what'd be the point of it? No, you got that backwards. I'm the one who's normal, stuck in an abnormal world.
SpikeMinoda14 Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Both for me! When a song i like comes on i dance along to the beat but i'm also screaming out the words..(When nobody is around i might add XD) "Hate You For Putting Hate In Me,For Putting Faith In Me,Everyone Is Sleeping..."-SoaD<3 I would never sell your guts on the black market just because you want to fuck the sexiest man on earth
LPGotLinkinPark Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Both....I'm waaaay over analytical with everything so I tend to listen to all parts in depth. rep me!! | xanga | add me on myspace
Hahninator Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 I was wondering this, Whenever your listening to music do you pay more attention to the beat, the words or both?? I pay more attention to the beat. Like I'll be dancing to some song with nasty lyrics but the beat is really great....... The beat. I know all the words by heart but I NEVER think about what they mean. I just learn them and say them while owning the beat I had to get someone to tell me what each song meant lol
Friðbjörn Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Usually both of course, but sometimes I like to or have to focus on one thing over the other. Still, I think music would get my vote. When I play songs back in my head, there usually isn't a beat to it, oddly, unless it's hip hop [broken External Image]:http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/2784/lpfas08mostintelligentym8.jpg
Tack Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Both. Unless the song is in a different language. Then I pay more attention to just the beat and sound of the music, rather than lyrics.
Vash_the_Stampede Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 The beat. I know all the words by heart but I NEVER think about what they mean. I just learn them and say them while owning the beat I had to get someone to tell me what each song meant lol I'm the same. Lol Good bye, auf wiedersehen, adiós, sayonara Gone
4everLP_Shinoda Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Every time I listen to music I pay attention to both, the music and the beats, although the beats are sometimes sticky and that I like that in a song but yeah most of the time I listen to both.
o0SugaxNxSpice0o Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Definatly the beat or the background music . If I like it, I'll listen to it a couple more times and pay attention to the rest of it. I don't understand what the song is about until I actually read the lyrics whilst listening to the song [broken External Image]:http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/9765/newsig2qs.gif It's Jen!!!
stupidsoul1 Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Both but first the beat, then the lyrics =) http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/25cb22d29f0c2f027cf1acc5b7bf6cf4.png http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/459bb3c6fed65d05781dbdae0319d254.png http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/0dcf45273040e11bc56a99d4601a58d5.png http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/bfdf068f8fa963062b979cec565ff7f7.png Fiona is teh Fionizzle... and we all love her ^^
acdcrules04 Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 both... you have to listen to the whole song, everything included, unless your trying to figure out a bass line or something... http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/bb2dcf01aaef6417df375864d8457158.gif myspace|peta2
Mikes_Shadow Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 I pay attention to the music more... I'm not exactly a beat person... unless it's got an awesome beat.. Like faint ^__^ hurr durr [broken External Image]:http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/3860/dffhgfhfghfgfghhg.jpg http://www.last.fm/user/fAgalloch
Stenners Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Though I do listen to both, I tend to pay more attention to the actual instrumental, more times then not the tracks fate lies entirley on what beats/instrumental its packing. Delete my account, the is no reason why it should be against standard procediure, do it do it do it. Or LPF Sessions 3 leaks before it's done and Spoilers will be posted for every film release. Heart_LP Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 I voted both but in some songs I usually focus more on beats or music. Depends on what kind of music it is. ♀ fighter ♀
LPDarkMark Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Though I do listen to both' date=' I tend to pay more attention to the actual instrumental, more times then not the tracks fate lies entirley on what beats/instrumental its packing.[/quote'] i agree i listen to both but the first thing i hear is the beat [LP]DarkMark ~There are people who love and people who hate, ~those in between seek revenge
brokenangel Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 i listen to the voices...does that count as "music"? i don't really know, but if the song has bad vocals and an amazing beat, i would scratch it off of my list. but if it had the most beautiful voice blasting through the speaker with a bad beat...i would definitely check it out some more. the voice tells the story, in my opinion. so i guess i vote 'music'. wait...are you just talking about rap songs? 'cause with rap songs it's definitely the beat ..i guess i'll just go with 'both'
Stenners Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 No i mean in general i dont care how good the lyrics are, if the beat/instrumental sucks i wont pay attnetion to it lol. Hybrid Soldier Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 well, both but it goes liek this: 1. I hear it, and if the instrumental sucks, ill turn it off 2. then if the lyrics suck, ill stop litening to it
azemkamikaze03 Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Instrumental is definately important. Like in the song SOul Survivor by Young Jeezy i hate young jeezy's rap but the the instrumental and akons parts makes up for it ¿whysoserious?
Figure.09 Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 The beat of beat of the song.. If the beat sucks, the song sucks. [broken External Image]:http://ham.sandwich.net/giveadamnprogress2mz.gif
Black_Angel Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 The music for me, and then the lyrics. If a song has crap lyrics then I can't listen to it. i still love you, girl from mars.
