Linkin' Park's Shinoda talks of 'invaluable' Jay-Z production

Another interview with Mike that was posted up today. This one's just a short article about Fort Minor and Jay- Z.

"The MC reveals more details on his solo set.

As he prepares to drop his solo debut set 'The Rising Tied', Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda has spoken for the first time of the depth of his working relationship with Jay-Z.

Shinoda has worked for much of 2005 on his Fort Minor project, which features a number of key hip-hop journeymen, including Black Thought, Common and the high-riding John Legend. But it's Jay-Z that gave Shinoda the biggest creative shove. The Linkin' Park frontman had previously worked with Carter on the LP/Jay-Z mash up "Collision Course".

"We have such a great working relationship, having his opinion has been invaluable for me throughout the process," states Shinoda. "Jay's got a great way of making suggestions whilst letting the artist keep their creative control and momentum."

Shinoda also roped in long-term friends Styles of Beyond (who appear on likely second single 'Remember The Name').

"Their producer helped me buy my first sampler", recalls Shinoda. "I've known these guys for ever, and for me to be able to come back and put them on Machine Shop Records, it's a good feeling."

"'Right Now' is a cross section of everyday life as each person sees it," he explains. "And Black Thought's verse is one of the best I've ever heard him do. It's beautiful. And it made the song just perfect to me."

The band play their first UK headline show at London's Mean Fiddler on November 14th. Tickets are on sale now. Click here to buy online."

I think we all know everything that was basically said in that, but hey, it's a new article and most people are probably only just finding out about it :D. As Fort Minor gets more exposure, they will probably be a lot more of these little interviews popping up:)

Yeah' date=' it seems like I've been reading the same articles over and over again. But it's all good.[/quote']

Yah, I have that same feeling. It's kinda like when people asked them: "What's the video and song for Breaking the Habit really about?" Jeez dude...I can probably dream it by now. But FM hasn't gotten that bad. Yet lol

Yeah, the We Major mixtape was so awesome. I really hope The Rising Tied album will be better than the mixtape. Cause if not, then I will be sad. Mike said that the only thing better than the mixtape was The Rising Tied, so I hope it's true.

I know what's gonna happen. It's gonna be like last year, just one day before Collision Course was released in America; someone already uploaded the entire album. Because the albums are always released like in the UK or something before the US. Then NEXT day, my mom goes out to buy me Collision Course, and I didn't even feel like listening to it, cause I already had all the tracks on my computer that I've listened to a million times. :p

Is Right Now a song on The Rising Tied or something different?

Back on-topic, yes, Jay-Z has done a lot for Mike Shinoda. Also, he's executive producer for the album, isn't he? I'm looking forward to see Jay work with Mike and Linkin Park more and more often. Linkin Park may of actually been forgotten by most kids who listen to music on MTV last year if it wasn't for Jay-Z and Collision Course bringing in something new.
