Hahninator Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 Market Wire reports that Warner Bros has posted this press release. It says Holly Brook will start a new, small tour of the West Coast in January, and says her album will be released sometime in April. The press release also states that Where'd You Go will be the 3rd Fort Minor single. I hope the video is good! I think FM should have selected a more heavier song for the single, like Right Now or Red to Black. In my opinion, the public will not receive Where'd You Go as well as they would receive a 'heavier' song. Comments? Discuss! (Thanks to LPFuse for the heads up!) == NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 01/04/2006 -- 19-year-old singer/songwriter Holly Brook will embark on mini tour of the West Coast this January in support of the upcoming release of her Machine Shop Recordings debut, "Like Blood Like Honey." The tour will kick off on January 9 in Monterey, hitting San Francisco, Santa Cruz, and ending in Holly's home base of Los Angeles on January 14. Holly Brook moved to Los Angeles at age 16 to pursue her passion for music. It wasn't long until her demo found its way into the hands of Linkin Park's Brad Delson prompting her signing to the band's record label, Machine Shop Recordings. Her self-produced album was recorded with the help of Jon Ingoldsby (Madonna, Elton John) and is scheduled to be released in April 2006. Singing practically since birth, Holly preformed professionally for the first time at age 6. She has mastered the piano, acoustic guitar, and the dulcimer. Her vocals are also featured on "Where'd You Go," the third single off Fort Minor's new album "The Rising Tied." "Like Blood Like Honey" will be released in 2006. Tour Dates Follow: January 09 - Monterey Live, Monterey, CA January 10 - Make-Out Room, San Francisco, CA January 11 - The Attic, Santa Cruz, CA January 14 - Tangier, Los Angeles, CA Quote

Brkng_Th_Hbt Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 I agree with you Mark. I don't think it would get as popular as a song like "Red to Black" or "In Stereo". I personally think they should've released "In Stereo", even though it's not my favorite on the album. Commander Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 yeah, a heavier song would be better. Red to black!!! Quote [broken External Image]:http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/4646/neubitmaprt8.jpg
Stenners Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 They arent gonna win over many rap fans by releasing another pop song. shadowfax1007 Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 They arent gonna win over many rap fans by releasing another pop song. agreed. Where'd you go is a cool song, but, Mike was saying how he wanted to show the world what a great hip hop/rap artist he is, without Lp, yet he isnt properly demonstrating the heavier, rap songs he has created, instead he is releasing the pop sortta songs. Either In Stereo or Cigarettes would be great songs to release, that would surely win over some fans. Friðbjörn Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 Maybe they didn't choose Right Now, cause they can't have Blackthought on it live, he can't tour all over with them to showcase the song. It's easier to have Holly. With that said, I would have liked to see Red to black, or just RTN, that's not a single, or at least yet, right? Phranka Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 does it come to europe too? Hm Where'd you go is not really one of my favorited I'd love Red to Black.. but hey.. Any FM would be nice to see. Stenners Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 Cigarettes wouldnt be a single, it just dont have the stuff required to be a single. Where'd you go does but I think that Right Now would or wqorked. Quote Delete my account, the is no reason why it should be against standard procediure, do it do it do it. UnhingedMouse0 Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 I think In Stereo would be the best for a new single. I can only imagine what they would do for the video. Quote [ R.I.P. LPF ]
LP_Soldier Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 In Stereo would be good, but I'd love to see Red to Black as well. That's my fave song on the album Quote [broken External Image]:http://prodegebanners.sitegrip.com/images/chesterbennington-468x60.jpg Sign up and refer me please?
Friðbjörn Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 The singles so far as follows (i think ) USA== Petrified UK+Europe == Believe me Asia + Austrialia == RTN Correct? ok first, why's it always UK and Europe? cause UK's in Europe, and so are Ireland, Iceland, Shetland Islands, etc... but okay, maybe it's been the single in Aus and Asia, would explain why I haven't heard of it Quote [broken External Image]:http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/2784/lpfas08mostintelligentym8.jpg
4everLP_Shinoda Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 Thanx for the news Mark!!Where would you go?is one ofmy fave tracks from FM,I hope it´s a good vid. I kinda agree with you all,may be Slip out the back or may be Feel like home could have been his next single, although I think Kenji should have been their next single cuz it´s talks about his dad´s life and stuff. Btw,I never knew Holly was so young ,I always thought she was like 24 or something like that:p lol Quote
Hahninator Posted January 6, 2006 Author Posted January 6, 2006 I dont think RTN has been a single yet. In my opinion, Mike planned the singles terribly. He said the US is more rap-like so he put Petrified there and Believe Me in the UK and Asia. Wow. First of all, Petrified sucks major ass. I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but I fucking hate that song. Mike attempts to be gangster and it just doesn't work.....at all. Believe Me didn't score well overseas. Know why? The song wasn't meant to be a fucking single. Pop songs aren't going to do well now-a-days. I know the song owns greatly, but it didn't need to be a single. My choices for the FM singles would have been: United States - Remember the Name, Red to Black UK/Europe/Asia/Aussie - Petrified, In Stereo 4 singles right there. Red to Black and In Stereo are perfect songs for singles, so why not. RTN my god. It was the first song we heard. How could it NOT BE A SINGLE? All I have to say here is WOW. I can guarantee the song would have scored big in the USA. I put Petrified in the UK because honestly, I don't know how it would do. If the UK doesn't like Pop, then it would like Petrified maybe. But if they don't, the ass-kicking In Stereo is next for them! The USA would get Red to Black, which would be a pretty good single in my opinion. You could switch it up and have In Stereo in the USA and Red to Black in the UK/etc. If I had been asked which song I would pick as the next single at this point in time (today), I would say In Stereo. The song is different to me and is great. Other songs I would consider would be Right Now, but Black Thought couldn't go everywhere with them and rap lol. The Hard Way would be pretty damn cool but it's only on the Special Edition, so the hell with that. I think that song is amazing though. Kenna <3 Can't believe how long this rant is going on. Anyways, Where'd You Go, doesn't fucking have potential to be a single. Don't give me this shit saying since Black Thought can't tour, we'll choose Where'd You Go and pull around Mrs. 19 year old Holly. Much love and respect for Holly, but I highly doubt she'll be at all of FMs shows. Bad choice for a single. However, I might be proven wrong if she decides to tag along. Only guests I know of are Little Brother and Demigodz opening the tour at the 1st show, Apathy and Celph Titled at all of the shows, and Bobo in Atlanta. My bottom line: Petrified sucks, Where'd You Go would be a bad single, and In Stereo should be made into a video. Sorry if I offended anyone, no harm lol I'm just ranting. Discuss :O Quote
donbyers Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 :O major rant dude, and if mike sent petrified over here, well i'd send it straight back, that song makes me feel sick Quote [broken External Image]:http://img270.imageshack.us/img270/2403/donbyers2gw.jpg Wounds From The Undertow ~~~~~ Don + Dj_Ravok (BBB) No I won't loan you my pink underwear you bish
donbyers Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 ok first' date=' why's it always UK [i']and[/i] Europe? cause UK's in Europe, and so are Ireland, Iceland, Shetland Islands, etc... LP186 Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 Asia + Austrialia == RTN Correct? nah, we got Believe Me down here and we havent got anymore singles after that i too think In Stereo would be a great single not really feeling Where'd You Go Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/9b1d0afefd59e62cbc922a85528ba928.jpg Strength For Now, Nothing Later
xLMiRoChezPx05 Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 Just to let everyone know, that you can watch the "Believe Me" vid as well as "Remember the Name" @ http://www.mtv.com/music/#/music/artist/fort_minor/artist.jhtml either click it if not then copy and paste in the URL box, you know the drill with codes these days. Also, I should also inform you of this: PC Users with Windows 95 or 98: you need to run Windows 2000 or Windows XP to use MTV Overdrive. Well much love and support to all, <33, Ashleigh Quote [broken External Image]:http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b192/x_Fire_at_Will_x/Linkin%20Park/lmiro5xe.png Thank you By_My-$elf!!! o0SugaxNxSpice0o Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 ^ Lol, thanks for the information, but most of us have actually seen all 3 of the FM videos a long time ago on Fort Minors MySpace Thanks anyway though o_0 Lol, Red To Black doesn't exactly have "happy" lyrics, but the song is incredibly catchy with an awesome beat, you don't forget it that easily. I wish he released that one In Stereo would also be a really good song or High Road! Where'd You Go is one of my favourites on the album but I didn't think it was one of the stronger ones to be a single. Nevermind, I hope it recieves good feedback from everyone, I like it a lot. Hmm, so Mike's releasing this single EVERYWHERE this time? And not different songs in different parts of the world? That's good. Quote [broken External Image]:http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/9765/newsig2qs.gif It's Jen!!!
Hahninator Posted January 8, 2006 Author Posted January 8, 2006 http://forums.fortminor.com/showpost.php?p=640286&postcount=79 This is the most true thing I've heard. Alright, now that Holly has posted like that, I must let out my feelings and back why this should not be the next single. After working in radio, and knowing the way things worked, this is it. Radio is a very corrupt thing. You as a band, group, or artist have to first gain a reputation as a fan friendly band to get played. As you've seen with Petrified, it obviously didn't catch radios attention, but it did get some play. "Where'd You Go" is one of the best on The Rising Tied. To be released right now after a flop single, would pretty much guarantee it's flop. Now, to first release "Believe Me" a poppy, catchy song would absolutely get attention and get played. Especially if the FM fans got onto it and called daily, or even every couple hours to request it. After a successful song like "Believe Me", they could then release "Where'd You Go" (a ballad) and have HUGE success with it on multiple formats. I have not really explained it thouroughly, but a poppy/catchy song must first be released, maybe even two, to really build a reputation, and then WUG would be huge. Quote
Cyro Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 Right Now would've been nice. I kinda had a feeling Where'd You Go would eb a single though... Red To Black is pretty good, but I don't think it would have made that good of a single... better than Where'd You Go though I say In Stereo or Right Now.
