The next morning everyone was past out from Chesters’ crazy midnight BBQ, except for me, but it was a smash. Rob and Rav talked the whole night and just about fell in love with each other all over again. I had a feeling that they were going to get along from now on and not have so many fights over stupid stuff. I fell asleep around four and got up a couple hours later to see the sun rising over our trees. I was on the rooftop of Robs house and watched the sun. It was beautiful, I could feel the warmth of the sun heat my trench and skin. I heard the birds wake up from their sleep, and then I felt like somebody was watching me. I turned around to see my father watching me on the rooftop. He was smiling at me. “What are you smiling at?” I asked, slightly annoyed. He laughed and said, “I was just watching you listen to things you never heard before. That’s all.” I laughed; it did seem a bit odd. “Dad, can I borrow about 50 dollars?” I asked randomly. Chester looked at me with wonder, “What for?” I looked around, “I need to go to the mall and get a new trench. I’m hoping to get one under fifty bucks.” Chester laughed, “So…. you need a new trench to match your new hair color?” he said eyeing my bright red hair. I nodded, he looked around at the people whom were still past out. “Alright, I’ll give it to you as long as you keep mental contact with me at all times and come back as soon as you can. Got it?” I smiled as he handed me some twenties and a ten. “Thanks dad! You’re the best!” and with that, I left to retrieve my bike and off I went.

 

~~Mall~~

I strolled through the mall, looking for my favorite leather shop for trenches. I found it easily since I went in there to look at the new leather things all the time. I looked through the racks till I found the perfect leather trench. It was black until the bottom, where it had blue and red flames coming that looked like they were coming from the floor. It was perfect, although it was too much. Only five dollars too much!! I looked around for the owner of the store so I could haggle the price down some five dollars. I found him, and eventually got bored with him saying that he refused to lower the price so I asked my father telepathically if I could mentally ‘shove’ him in the right way. I heard his wicked laugh ring through my head saying “Only this once!!! This trench better be worth it.” I went inside of the mans’ head telling him he should lower the price. It took him a few moments to get the idea, and he agreed to lower the price. I was so happy that I got this perfect trench that I didn’t notice that when I walked out to my bike, somebody was following me. After I noticed, I turned around to see somebody whom I didn’t really want to see. It was the one person who ever made fun of me in school and got away with it.

I don't know whether that's irresponsible parenting on Chester's behalf or he's just testing her to see what she'd do/how far she'd take it, but playing with people like that certainly can't be a good thing. I'm wondering, since all vampires are telepathically linked in some manner, that stronger more dominant vampires haven't stepped in yet to exert pressure/power/dominance - they are territorial by nature. Maybe I'm getting confused between the stories... I wonder what Viktor's take on all this is? (Wasn't he the one in the crypt Fox sought shelter in previously?)

Anyway... curious is all.

As for Rob and Rav working their shit out? About time! Haha!

Even though I didn’t know her name, all I knew is that she pissed me off so much that I wish she was dead. At that moment, I realized that I was stronger than she was now, and I just got done with the storeowner, so I was sure that I could take her down. Suddenly I heard my fathers voice in my head, “Fox, don’t do it! She’s not worth it!!” he shouted over and over, but I refused to listen. I opened my mind to my enemy and shoved her consciousness with all my heart, then opened my eyes to see her collapsed on the floor in front of me. Chester was screaming in my head “FOX! What have you DONE! I’m on my way there!” he screamed, “Don’t move from that mall!” I stood there in shock, if I could do this, what could I do without knowing it? I could accidentally hurt Sarah, Mel, Vi, or even mum. I scared myself thinking about it. A few moments later my father was at my side, taking me up into his arms and dragging me away.

 

~~Chesters’ house~~

 

“What the hell Fox! You put that kid into a coma! I’m calling Rob to tell him I’m keeping you here and taking you outta school.” Said my father while pacing back and forth in front of me. He went over to the phone to call up Rob, and I didn’t want to stay for that, so I went up to my room to sing to myself. After a few moments of Chester talking things over with Rob, he came up into my room. “Well, that’s that fox. You are living here full time,” a smile rose up onto my face, “you will no longer be in school with your siblings, and you are to be home schooled. Don’t go anywhere outside this house without me. Am I understood?” he asked. I frowned and nodded my head. “Cheer up fox! You get to spend loads of time here and you don’t ever have to go to that school that you hate so much ever again!” I laughed wickedly. “Dad, I didn’t mean to do that, really I didn’t.” he sighed and came over to my bed and wrapped his tattooed arms around me in a big hug, “I know you didn’t fox. I know, but that is why you have to stay away from morals for a while, just until you can control yourself.”

Glad to see that came together nicely! Isn't it amazing what late night/early morning brainstorming sessions coupled with sleep deprivation and a load of virtual bacon and eggs can do?

Anyway... now that Fox is coming into her powers I'm thinking a whole new world of oppertunities have just opened to her - not to mention new threats. Hope Chester knows what he's letting himself in for... and her!

The next day was Monday and now I had to meet my home schoolteacher. Chester promised that he got the very best one that he could. I wasn’t looking forward to this at all. When the doorbell rang, Chester went to open it since I refused and was playing Van Helsing on x-box. Before he answered the door, he looked at me, “Please give this a chance Fox. Please.” I nodded in response and continued to kill things. I glimpsed at the teacher as she walked in the door. She was tall and didn’t really look like a teacher. Maybe thirty at the most, but other than that, she looked fine. Then, I saw somebody else walk into the door, a tall guy about 19 or so and good looking. He had black shaggy hair, brown eyes and a goatee around his mouth. He looked mad, although when he saw me, I heard his heart beat faster. The teacher smiled at me, “You must be Meaghan. My name is Lilly!” I growled at her for using my so-called name. Chester walked in-between us and said, “No, that’s not her name. Her name is Fox, call her Fox.” He smiled wearily. “Oh, I’m sorry. Hello Fox.” She extended her hand for a handshake but I was too busy killing creatures. “Uh, Lilly? Who is that?” said Chester looking at the tall guy that just stood there in his Hawaiian shirt not saying anything to anyone. “Oh, silly me, I forgot to introduce you. This is Andy; he is my son. I have to watch him for the next few weeks since he got expelled. I figured he could come and learn with Fox if that’s alright with you Mr. Bennington.” Chester laughed after hearing his surname used formally. Then he looked this Andy fella up and down to make sure he was all right. “Yea, I guess that’s okay. And it gives Fox some human interaction. She needs it.” He said giving me a sly grin. “Geez thanks dad.” I said sarcastically.

 

Chester came over to the couch and said, “Okay Foxxy Lady. Time to get off the couch and go to the table to learn something.” Then he unplugged my x-box and swung the cord and gave yet another wicked smile. I reluctantly walked over to the kitchen table and sat down next to Lilly and Andy. He looked over at me and eyed my red hair. “Hey” he said to me. I started to blush and I didn’t know why. “Okay Fox. Lets start with some history today.” Said Lilly and she started to go on and on about the Civil War! Not this again, I thought to myself. I could see that Andy had learned this way too many times before too as he slouched in his seat and looked around the rock-stars house. I located my dad with my mind and told him that this was not cool. He laughed at me and said to shut up and put up. I leaned on my hand while miss Lilly rambled on and on. I had a strange feeling that she liked the sound of her own voice.

At least Fox's life seems to be getting on track now... or lack of life... whichever... hehe...

After about two hours of Lilly going on and on about something, Chester came into the kitchen area. “Hey, what kinda pizza do you guys want for lunch?” he asked with the phone in his hand. “I want the usual dad.” I said. I looked over at Andy to try to get him to speak. He finally did when he said, “ I’ll eat anything.” Chester laughed, “Good, that means that you don’t care. Lilly? What about you?” Lilly shook her head, “I don’t eat pizza. I’m fine, I had a big breakfast before I came over here.” Chester shrugged and dialed Pizza Hut and started to ramble off his order. Before he hung up I shouted, “Dad! Don’t forget my pop!” he looked at me and grinned, then added a coke to the list. Lilly was watching him walk around us closely. Then she sighed and said, “Well, that’s all for today. We don’t have to stay for lunch Mr. Bennington.” Chester laughed again as he heard his surname again. “We can get going now. Come on Andy.” Chester looked at me and saw that I didn’t want the humans to leave so soon. He walked in front of the door and said, “No, you don’t have to go. You can stay for a while. Or at least let Andy stay and let Fox here get some human interaction. She has been cooped up for a while. Just let them have pizza and play x-box for a while and then I’ll call a cab for him. How’s’ that?” he asked as I pleaded with him through my eyes. Lilly looked over to Andy who shrugged and put his hands together in a begging way. “Please mum. Let me stay a while. It’ll help both Fox and me! PLEASE!!!” he asked. Chester was holding back a laugh as I walked over to the couch to plug in the x-box that my father unplugged to get me to do some work.

 

Lilly sighed and said, “All right. Chester, watch him though. I can’t say that he’ll be good cause I’m non sure that he will be. But have fun!” and with that, she left Chesters’ house. Chester turned around to look at us. “All right you too. X-box or swimming?” he asked with a grin. Andy looked at him with puzzled eyes. “Um, sir. I don’t have my trunks with me. How am I to swim?” I looked at him then looked at my father. “Dad, he looks about the same size as you. Why don’t you lend him a pair?” I said slyly. My father looked at me and suddenly I heard him in my head, “Don’t think about trying anything with this Andy fella got it?” I nodded my head in response. Chester then told Andy to follow him upstairs, so I kept my mind open to hear what he was saying. “Listen Andy. I don’t have anything against you, yet. If you try something on my only daughter and you hurt her in anyway, you will be sorry. Do you understand?” stated Chester, sounding more like a worried father than ever. “Yes sir. But what if I don’t do anything to her and she comes on to me?” Andy asked coolly. Chesters’ heart started to race. “Then, um, I don’t know. But just don’t even think about messing with her heart or else I’ll rip yours out of your ribcage.” I laughed to myself after hearing my father sounding so worried and threatening at the same time. Chester returned downstairs and found me sitting on the couch. “Aren’t you going to go get changed into your new bikini?” he asked as I just sat there. “Yea, I’m going I’m going.” I answered. I went upstairs and changed into the black and red bikini. God, I thought, what happens if my dad finds out that I like this guy? Then I realized that my dad might be listening to my thoughts and quickly disregarded the subject.

That was sweet - cracked me up towards the end. I'm like 'How does one keep secrets in a telepathic household??' Chas being a panicky dad - sweet. Being undead (?) doesn't take away those paternal instincts, not even for a rockstar like him (and I thought my rendition of the family was weird)... Still, me likey!
