Private VS Public Schools

Private schools or public schools? which one is better?

 

I have to say from experience from both sides, that private so rocks! its my new school which is private and i am so much happier than my public high school.

Depends on how you view education. As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't matter if its public/private/homeschool, just as long as you learn.

I go to a public school that acts like a private school...so I get both worlds lol.

Public, because my experience at private school was horrid: undereducated teachers, socially unnaceptable students, and a bitchy principal.

Private schools cost a shitload here lol. I've never been to one, but I reckon that people come out of them with a much better education stance. I wouldn't like to go to one though, seems like far too many rules, stuck up people etc lol. That's just my view though.

 

I go to a public schools. My high school was a shithole but it was fun haha. I had some really nice smart teachers, but then again, I had a lot of supply teachers and others that didn't have a clue of what they were teaching. I think I came out of it ok though, and I go to a public college now which is really quite good. Much better teachers and I love the enviroment.

I go to a public school, it ain't great, but I would definitely prefer it to a private school. They all seem so stuck up (no offense anyone)

Out of the high schools/colleges where I live, there's only one private, so I can't really judge. We have to pay though to go to the public ones, but the private one is expensive like nothing I've ever seen, so going to that one was not an option for me. It has good education though, but so do most public ones, at least decent education.

I've never been to a private shcool but they all sound really harsh!! at least around here.

I Like the concept of public schools better You get to be FREEE (well not at our school -_-)

I've been to both and I prefer Private school cause they have much more decipline and that does not mean that it's less fun. It makes you wanna go to school instead of feeling like you're dragged to go to school everyday.

The teachers, environment, even students sometimes, are better in private school. I just felt more comfortable in a private school.

edit: yes, it is expensive but it's definately worth it.

my kids go to public school and my eldest is well above average in most subject, my two other daughters are just above average for everything. private school isn't any diffrent except it costs the earth!!!

The only reason I don't go to private school is that the school system I go to is one of the best in the state (which isn't saying much, but still). I just don't like the trash we pull in from some of the redneck places around.

i went to private school for the first two years of HS. it was bad but it specalized in the arts. now I'm in a public HS and I like it better. in the Private school I was doing alright but now I'm like surpassed every one. but Public is better for me art wise because we have more chances/contests/ speakers that come and talk with us for our stuff.

Well, I guess I just got a bad one, the teachers were not better, because you know that private schools dont have laws on the education of their teachers, its all the owners judgement. And now I go to a high-quality learning school, lots of disipline, awesome atthletes, just awesome.

I like public better because....well fuck it the truth is I talk way to fucking much (ask anyone who is on any of my buddy lists or are my friends at school), and I think sometimes there isn't enough people at private schools me to talk to.....and chics to hit on....

My parents always wanted me to go to my local private school since i was young.

 

Nothing doing. I don't want to become a social outcast because my pair of chucks are non comparable to someones $1000 bling bling glued on to their shoes.

 

My knowledge of private and public school is that both have the same syllabus, but when you go out in the real world if your parents decided they will fork out thousands of dollars per term for your education the name attached to that school can get further..

 

some of my friends have changed since they hit private school, you know that whole hahaha you go to a pathetic government funded school.

 

but reality check to all of us - money doesnt buy the education it just pays for it, if you lead a horse to water it doesn't mean it will drink.

I go to a private school, and despite the fact that its not co-ed, i like it because my school teaches the students how to be a "man for others", plus the added bonus that we have the best sports program in Nor Cal...

well i say most publics are just as good as private.

just cuz someone goes to a private school doesnt mean there better or anything.

cuz all the kids are the same: mean, bitchy, nice, nerdy, slutty, sporty. and well my school mt gravatt high, we are attually(sp?) better then some private schools even tho we are public. we have nice uniforms, great teachers and pride for our school, we have won many awards, and always have many students who get high ops.

private school does nothing for a kid in the area of being "self-defined" cause everybody in a private school are basicly the same rather in a public school you get to learn how to apply the "street smarts" (like someone mentioned) and you get to define yourself as what you want...

oh dear everyone is so negative about private schools. ive been to private school my whole life and i would never go to public school and i would never send my children to a public school.

i think its really a matter of personal preferance, I mean, the ciriculam is pretty much the same, so it doesnt matter.

 

Except public school students tend to be better prepared for uni because they become self reliant much earlier.
