Brkng_Th_Hbt Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 We all know LP isn't just one genre. Well most bands aren't... but anyway. Was it the rap/hiphop influence? The rock? Any other element that they put into their music? What part of LP made you go, "Hey, I really like that!" ? For me, it was mostly the rock. Vash_the_Stampede Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 The rock, as well as the blending of the rock with the hip-hop side of them. Quote Good bye, auf wiedersehen, adiós, sayonara Gone
allieking Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 the rock mailny but it was also that they are completly diffrent than any other band around, as soon as you hear an LP song you know its them. Quote [broken External Image]:http://www.inoshishi.co.uk/allie/aa.png
Stllmn8j Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 mainly the rock, but the hip-hop side kept me interested Quote
Friðbjörn Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 At first it was the rock. Their cool riffs mostly. Then I got into them for fusing rap with rock, and later I fell for the depth of their lyrics. For me it was basicly a lot of things. Stenners Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 The hip hop side made them more approachable for me, but I stay for the rock Quote Delete my account, the is no reason why it should be against standard procediure, do it do it do it. waiting4thesun Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 I think for me it was the fact that they aren't like any other band. There are bands that sound similar to them (not many...), but no one is just like them. That, along with the hiphop/rock combo, made me love them instantly. climbtree Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 I like how they teamed up with Jay Z. Jay Z is the best guy ever! Quote
Dark Collision Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Well I've never heard rap and rock mixed together in one song before. I've listened to rap and hip-hop all my life. When I first heard Linkin Park, it was totally something new to me. I thought it was awesome and I wanted to hear more of LP's unique sound. Then they eventually got me into rock music. LP Expert Soldier Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 I'd say the rock side rocks more, but the rap/hip-hop side is also cool Quote ** LPF Member Since 2004
o0SugaxNxSpice0o Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 I like Chesters singing ALOT, which is probably what got me into the band. I guess it's the rock side, but I also love mikes verses. Plus their fusion of music is something I haven't heard of before =) Quote [broken External Image]:http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/9765/newsig2qs.gif It's Jen!!!
blink2k5 Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Well I first heard LP in Art when we had to do patterns to different types of music, at first i thought the track was "Beneath My Skin - Sum 41" (actually Papercut - LP), I don't know how i mistaked them for Sum 41. A while after i bought Hybrid Theory and heard One Step Closer, then bought Meteora and got Reanimation..... then i just grew on them... Quote
twilightcrimson7 Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 I just loved the mix of everything. the first song I heard was In the End, so I loved the unique blending of vocals, rock-esque sound, piano, and rap, it just sounded so unique. Plus the lyrics really hooked me! Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/caa111db447cb1d28d713cebad979c8d.png ...:away and onward:...

aloneme Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 The first song ,that I heard from LP ,was In the end.I said WOW.It was cool .The combination of rap ,rock ,metal...It is cool.So ,I don´t have favourite part of LP songs. But I love ,when Chester is shouting and Mike is rapping just at this moment. We can´t forget other parts of band.Mr. Hahn perfectly control his instruments.Brad and Phoenix are great guitarists and Rob is cool with drums. I love every part of Linkin Park. waiting4thesun Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 To add to my previous comment, I also love the sound of Chester's voice. Now, I'm a guy and completely straight, but still. He has a phenomenal voice. I agree with aloneme, when chester screams/sings and mike raps, it freakin' rocks. Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/6f579a8cf2d33e1d14cfc6db8a8749ab.jpg
Cyro Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Thier unique sound really got me interested. When I heard the keyboard intro for Crawling the first time, I thought it was really cool. Then when I heard Mike's little rap thing before Chester's chorus I knew I liked them. Jeezy Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 I am fascinated by Chesters voice he shouts like no other but he's also a great singer with deep lyrics. Just the best, but I think Y' all know that. Quote
Wuzzie Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 I was quite young when I first heard any LP music. I liked it for the rock side (although teh first song of thiers I ever heard was Session) And I didn't even relize that it was Rock AND rap. This was my original LP collection, which my brother downloaded because he liked the music, and now that I listen to it so much, he hates anything to do with LP... -Papercut -In The End -From The Inside -Somewhere I Belong -Faint -Numb Then I got CC, then Meteora, Hybrid Theory, Reanimation, Hybrid Theory EP, and all the other stuff... Now I am waiting patiently untill the next album Quote
By_My-elf Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 The element I don't know what that means but I always liked them cause of their DJ I love them from that cause of the way they made their beats Quote [broken External Image]:http://img87.imageshack.us/my.php?image=signature002jo8.jpg Can't get my sig to work
djwakka Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Definetly the way Linkin Park mixxed the art of rhyme performed by Shinoda and the unique, creative, and original turntablism of Joe Hahn into their rock rhythms backed up by Bennington's vocals really is what turned me on. A lot of times, they seem overplayed but nevertheless, you can't deny that they remain a rare breed of music.
