Heart_LP Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Yesterday, me and my teacher Micke were talking and he said that scientists have proved that if you are reading or writing a test/exam and listening to Mozart, you can increase your I.Q. Idk if you any of you have heard this but I just thought it was unsuall and cool, so I'm defintely gonna try ^^ Quote ♀ fighter ♀
Friðbjörn Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Good luck lol I just find this somehow hard to believe...plus, I personally think IQ's way overrated... Quote [broken External Image]:http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/2784/lpfas08mostintelligentym8.jpg
UnhingedMouse0 Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 I heard stuff like that. Ive also heard that if you play it for young babies and babies still in the womb, then they will also be smarter when they get older. Although I dont think that there is anyway that they can scientifically measure/prove this, its nice to think that it could actually work. I wonder what LP does for me? lmao. Quote [ R.I.P. LPF ]
Vash_the_Stampede Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Meah, increasing IQ or not, I still listen to Mozart. Great musician. Quote Good bye, auf wiedersehen, adiós, sayonara Gone
Sygy Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 no fucking way im listening to mozart Quote iam mors sola fuga est [broken External Image]:http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/9977/n76430001741552817731hb2.jpg
Vash_the_Stampede Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 That's because you have a closed mind. Mozart, Bach, Beethoven... All of them are the best musicians ever. If it weren't for them, we wouldn't have music today. Quote Good bye, auf wiedersehen, adiós, sayonara Gone
Sygy Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 they are all shit. really shit, they is a reason why mozart died alone and was buried in a public grave. and dont say i have a closed mind because i dont and who are you to make judegements like that? Quote iam mors sola fuga est [broken External Image]:http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/9977/n76430001741552817731hb2.jpg
Friðbjörn Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 hey let's all take it easy Sygy has her opinion, Josh has his. And I mean, I don't really find them so much of creators of the music we have today, it at least could have been a lot different goin all the way from their time. what I mean is, other guys could have done it, or maybe their music didn't have that much direct influence, hope that makes sense and, we can't be judging a man just cause he died alone or something Quote [broken External Image]:http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/2784/lpfas08mostintelligentym8.jpg
UnhingedMouse0 Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 I dont really like mozart much, but I wouldent say they are shit. Calm down. Jeez. EDIT: Elvis died on his toilet, what do you have to say about him if Mozart was shit? Quote [ R.I.P. LPF ]

It's just different from the other types of music and always will be. Atleast for me. Call me stupid, but sometimes when I listen to Bach or Mozart it feels just more than music, as if something is in there that we cant notice. *shrug* Quote ♀ fighter ♀
Black_Angel Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 I heard that listening to classical music was supposed to make you concentrate more. Never tried it though Not into the whole classical music thing. I heard about the baby music too... apparently if you play it a certain type of music while its in the womb it will grow up to like it... meh, worth a try XD Quote i still love you, girl from mars.

Your CD player doesn't spin without Mozart, Liszt, Schubert, Beethoven, etc. flexing their musical minds the way they did. Also, I don't know if you're a fan of Korn, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Coldplay, or infinite other musicians of today, but they admit themselves to digging into the classical sheet music for song inspiration. Hell, APC even has some classical covers that are awesome! The close minded comment was a spot on description of your 'tude so far. You can't look past your own self gratification to see what classical compsers brought to the table.....for YOU! In the future, don't be so quick to bag on classical composers; they're pretty much the most respected people in their field. That field being the one you joined a forum for. Quote

Stenners Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 People that listen to Mozart before or during an exam are more relaxed therefor perform better. However it is proven that if u eat plenty of fish or fish oil within the space of 3 months ur IQ can icrease by as many as 15points Quote Delete my account, the is no reason why it should be against standard procediure, do it do it do it. Clogz Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 People find it impossible to appreciate something they don't understand, and its the same with music. Classical music is great. Also, its been proven that the brain, contrary to popular belief, is not a 'born with it, die with it' type of organ, because it has the ability to become smarter. Yep. Apparently, the brain's power increases as you test its limits, like a muscle while lifting weights. And like your muscles, your brain's nuerons will actually connect in new and different ways, essentialy creating a thicker brain. This results in the brain working more efficiently. So, in case you were wondering if dumb people got smart, the scientific awnser is that they can. twilightcrimson7 Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 I love classical music, and I don't think it "makes me smarter" but it does help me concentrate. Mainly becuse there's no words to distract me Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/caa111db447cb1d28d713cebad979c8d.png ...:away and onward:...
Jelly Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 i should try that sometime!!..i heard this thing that you only use like 2% of ur brain and u can go in this chamber where u cant see touch smell hear or feel anything and you develop a new sense n then u use 3% of ur brain or something like tht...i forget Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/0f9ca8954da15d34f02dbae2b1111ce1.gif Thanks to ForgottenKid for the signature.

o0SugaxNxSpice0o Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 So' date=' in case you were wondering if dumb people got smart, the scientific awnser is that they can.[/quote'] Hm, is it scientifically possible for somebody to be smart, and then become dumb? I think that's the case for me lol. Honestly, when I was younger, nothing could distract me, I could work for hours and I could concentrate and work for ages and ages and I achieved like top grades and won all sorts of awards and shit. Nowadays, my attention span is probably shorter than a 10 year old and my thinking and working is definatly not how it use to be lol. Me thinks my IQ dropped a couple notches! Oops, yeah, I do think that classical music can improve your IQ in the sense that it relaxes you and makes you concentrate and actually think. I don't think you could perform as well if you were listening to heavy metal music and such lol. I should try it one day like before my exams or something. My mum never sang or read anything when I was still a fetus lol. If only she had *Thinks of the possibilities of inventing the first pink glowstick, princess cookies and cures for a cold* !!!!
