Clogz Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 No, they did. Isaac Hayes, the voice of 'Chef' on South Park, has quit the show over a disagreement on the controversial scientology episode. Hayes is a scientologist and was angry over the fact that they mocked his religion and that the church's leaders couldn't get the episode banned from airing. ...how awful. Who is going to feed all those poor kids at South park Elementary now?! LPGotLinkinPark Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Haha that's kinda ironic seeing as how he's a voice on South Park. Chef can't go!!! They'll have to get him back. Quote rep me!! | xanga | add me on myspace

Well, he is pretty angry. And from the articles I've read online, so our Matt and Trey (the South park creators)...so I don't know if they will get him back. I'm guessing that Chef is gone for good. Hayes' voice and the way he potrayed the character were to unique. I don't see how they could replace him...I'm only interested in finding out what they will do to get him out of the story. azemkamikaze03 Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 ill miss chef, but after allll the controversial shit S has done it took just one episode to get him to quit lol Quote ¿whysoserious?
Epidemic Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Scientology is a pretty crazy religion. It makes walking on water look plauseable. South Park has fun with every religion, minority and movement. 1 episode about scientology is hardly something to quit over. I hop Matt and Trey have another episode about scientology just to rub it in Isaac's face. Quote
UnhingedMouse0 Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 I heard about this at school... not much to say other than, everything is gonna get made of sooner or later. He shoulda known that by now. I mean, theyve made fun of christians, jews, hindus, Buddhists even [i think]... basically all the big ones... Besides, if he had a problem with it, he shoulda taken it up with them before the show aired and maybe stopped it. Besides, it wasnt even that great of an episode if I remember correctly... Anyways... Its a sad day... Article: Isaac Hayes isn’t happy with the jokes about religion... Isaac Hayes has quit South Park, stating that he is unhappy with jokes about religion in episodes of the hit cartoon. Hayes, who has provided the voice of Chef since the show first started, has asked to be let out of his South Park contract and has criticised the show’s producers for including jokes about religion in recent episodes. "There is a place in this world for satire,” said Hayes in a statement, “but there is a time when satire ends and intolerance and bigotry towards religious beliefs of others begins." "Religious beliefs are sacred to people, and at all times should be respected and honoured," he added. "As a civil rights activist of the past 40 years, I cannot support a show that disrespects those beliefs and practices." Although Hayes has not pointed to one particular episode, it would seem that the jokes about Scientology – the legendary soul star’s religion – are what caused him to quit, as stated by South Park’s co-creator Matt Stone. "This is 100 percent having to do with his faith of Scientology," said Stone. "He has no problem - and he's cashed plenty of cheques - with our show making fun of Christians." Catch South Park on MTV, with our without the Chef, Sundays at 10pm. DL Quote [ R.I.P. LPF ]

I think they payed for the rights to broadcast it. To my knowledge, MTV and TBS are the only ones that have done that. acdcrules04 Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 So basicly Issac Hayes has a stick in his ass? If you can't laugh at yourself, you can't laugh at others. I live by those words. Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/bb2dcf01aaef6417df375864d8457158.gif myspace|peta2
By_My-elf Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 LoL i just watched south park and why did he have to quit if it was about my religion (that I used to live by) I wouldn't have gave a crap about and I think I'll just stick with the old ones not watch the mew ones that they had -__- Quote [broken External Image]:http://img87.imageshack.us/my.php?image=signature002jo8.jpg Can't get my sig to work
Clogz Posted March 18, 2006 Author Posted March 18, 2006 The worst part is, this episode was supposed to re-run on Wensday night and never did. Comedy Central has said that they replaced the episode with "Chocolate Salty Balls", one of Chef's most famous episodes, to give the character a sendoff. Matt and Trey, on the other hand, have hinted that Scientologists, weather Tom Cruise, Isaac Hayes, or the Church itself, had a hand in what happened. here is there quote...which according to what I have read, is fighting words in Scientology. "So, Scientology, you have won THIS battle, but the million-year war for Earth has just begun. Temporarily anozinizing our episode will NOT stop us from keeping Thetans forever trapped in your pitiful man-bodies. Curses and drat! You have obstructed us for now, but your feeble bid to save humanity will fail! Hail Xenu!!!" Brkng_Th_Hbt Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Haha, Matt and Trey are crazy. Isaac Hayes is pretty much being a dill-hole. South Park has made fun of my religion, but I don't care... It's still funny. He's being a bit immature. Quote v v v v[broken External Image]:http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/3880/bannervq9.png click here for buttsecks
Brkng_Th_Hbt Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Sorry for the double post, but this is funny: Clogz made this thread called "Oh My God, they killed Chef", and just by coincidence, thats EXACTLY what they say on the new South Park episode. XD It was so fucking funny how they used old voice clips of Chef and made him say things like "I want to make love you your asshole", then they killed him off the show. That was GREAT. And that's what he gets for quitting the show. Probably the most I've ever laughed at an episode. And then Cartman was all like "Well may he's not dead, because right after people die, they..." And then Chefs dead body.. erm.. craps. I'm done. Quote v v v v[broken External Image]:http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/3880/bannervq9.png click here for buttsecks
