I guess i should explain. My friends say im too mature for my age, they think that pot is the solution..cuase itll help me loosen up. being the "mature" person i am i know what my parents would do and i know what my closest friends would do. I just dont understand, i know i can be too mature but why drugs would be their answer its stupid right? i just really dont know how to handle myself anymore.

i've always been told that i'm pretty mature for being 14, but never to the point where someone recommended pot. i don't know what you can do about it, but don't smoke pot.

exactly. there is no rationality in drinking and smoking. it isn't going to loosen you up, it'll fuck you up. it's possible, though, that taking up a hobby, like playing a musical instrument, might make you a little looser. i don't actually know if you need to loosen up at all, but it can't hurt.

Ditch these assholes. Anyone who claims you should smoke because you are 'too mature for your age', is an idiot. That is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. You are beyond these guys, they even admit it.

There is nothing wrong with being more mature then your peers. As it stands, you'll have an advantage over them because you will probably take school and responsibility far more seriously.

You sound like a smart guy, you just need to shake off these pot smoking morons and find some friends who appreciate you for who you are...not some losers who wan't to dumb you down and water you down to thier level.

From the sound of it, I would not suggest weed to you, you seem too uptight and would end up getting yourself caught, so stay away from it is my advice. (but unlike most(maybe all) of the people in this thread, i am DEFINITLY not against pot :-) )

I wouldnt ever say to someone 'loosen up your too mature, here smoke this!' that is what we call peer preassure. Im not against pot as I do it (go figure) but i never preassurise others into it. If they keep on doing it and dont respect your decision then forget about them.

And if you stay with them, and end up getting pressured into smoking pot, that will mess you up more then the other. You have to choose the the lesser of two evils here.

No one likes giving up thier friends, but you need to take a stand and decide for yourself if you are going to let yourself or others tell you who you are.

Ive been thinking, i have two years of high school left. So would it get worse in college , the pressure to do more things? Its really everything with my friends, they all drink or do their own thing and i just kinda sit back and watch what happens to them.

 

Lets say i ditched them all, i think id have more problems at home, my parents would get more involved and that really would be the last thing i would need. It really is choosing between 2 evils. though i can admit to feel like being pressured i just try to look at the bigger picture.

 

Im going to germany over the summer and one of my friends who is a big drinker is going to be my roommate, not sure how that ones gonna work out.

err... I know I'm coming into this a little late, but take it from someone that knows Pot is not the answer. I know I may act crazy on here sometimes well most of the time, but if you knew me in real life I guess you'd call me way over mature. People have actually asked me if the devil sucked the fun out of me. Those people dont know me that well b/c if I'm comfortable with the ppl I'm with then I'm crazy and like weEeE, but the point is I do have a strong mature side. People have told me to smoke weed cuz it makes you want to have fun. I fell for it and kind of regret it. Pot is NOT the answer and it is one of the worst things you could do to yourself. If you start smoking pot now your not going to get into college. pot will literally slow you down and make it ten times worse on you. Smoke pot and you won't have to worry about the pressure in college because you wont make it there. It's something that you want to stay away from. Personally, I'd rather deal with the pressure then start smoking pot again.

 

If your friends are trying to get you to smoke pot then I definetly suggest making new friends. One thing I've learned over that last three years is that friends are people who don't want to danger your life. If they want you to smoke pot then they aren't really your friends. Friends care about you and that's not caring. They may care that your not laid back like them, but then they are trying to change you meaning they dont like you for who you are. Try to make new friends.

smoking that stuff does nothing for you, if anything it gives you an "i can't be bothered" attitude. your friend says its not hard to cover up the fact that your smoking it.....hes wrong, your personality will change and then your parents will wonder why, the first thing they will think of is drugs (as would every parent).

 

if they wanna smoke it go ahead and let them but please don't go down that road. i had a friend when i was in high school that smoked pot everyday for 2 years and he died of throat cancer at 16!!!!

 

yeah it might make you losen up but is it really worth losing the respect of your friends and family?
