djwakka Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 But at the same time, Christianity isn't a set of rules. Above all, Christianity should be a relationship. With God. With Christ. And Christians generally try to strive for that. But hypocrits come in every form, bro, and to act like Christianity is flawed just because it has some is just shallow. Sure, it's got more fakes than any of the other religions, but also 70-80% of the world say their Christians. Compared to every other religion. I'm sure that Buddhism has it's 10% of Hypocrits. Every religion does. You know what I'm trying to say here? Like, without misquoting me, or jumping to the wrong conclusions? I finally agree. I take it back; I noticed I was kind of judgemental because I was pretty much taking all those shady role models that happened to be Christian and substituting them for Christianity itself. (i.e. Benny Henn, ya know, the healer on TV?) It's those people that kind of ruin a belief and give a bad example for the religion's purpose. Even though people are supposed to hate the sin, not the sinner, it happens. A homosexual soldier in Iraq died recently, and people were thanking God that he died because he deserved it. As much as we want to preserve our religions and beliefs for the better, there are going to be people that really don't get the point. Even though this quote is usually used in a humorous way, people really need to think- What would Jesus do? There are people that advocate that their religion is the best belief in the world, yet ignore what makes it great. "BE HEALED!!!!!*WHACK!*" Puhleeeeeazzzze that guy is SO fake. About the homosexual soldier, homo or not, the dude is still a person. I hate homosexuality like I hate hell, but all the fags i know are really nice people. I wouldn't wish anything on them for the world, except that they find Jesus and not be Gay. But I'm entitled to that, and it's ethical. What would Jesus do....for a Klondike bar? <<<couldn't resist.... haha There are people that advocate that their religion is the best belief in the world, yet ignore what makes it great. Dude, I pray everyday that I'm not one of those people. But like I said, nobody's perfect, I just hope that when the time for mistakes come is when it doesn't matter... like when I'm talkin to my youth minister. And that's not just limited to advocating, either. If I stub my toe while on an evangelical visit (hypothetical situation again) and drop the F-Bomb, that's not going to make the kid want Christ, is it? Quote MY PANTS SMELL LIKE SWISS CHEESE!
Fall_And_Faint Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Yeah, that reminds me of some kids I thought we're pretty cool and nice and loved the Lord, up untill they cursed giving me a ride home and not apologizing. I mean even one of my close friends I've been trying to get to church apologizes every single time he curses and it's a 30 second gap between his curse words. Reminds me of this song called Televangelist by Odd Thomas. He's my Christian role model pretty much and speaks the corruption in religions. I really suggest buying his album, he exploits religious broadcasting networks, finding redemption with corrupt religious officials, paying money to get into Heaven, etc. http://www.sendspace.com/file/7ertc7 http://www.myspace.com/oddthomas http://www.imoddthomas.com Quote If you start feeling offended when a ridicule begins It's God who gives the gifts so you can take it up with Him http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/54bb2a153af0bf7cdc7baec66119e65f.gif
Reflectionist Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 Bump. That's a good song, Wakka. Any other religion topics to discuss, while we've got the thread still here? Quote MY PANTS SMELL LIKE SWISS CHEESE!
