Naw it doesn't sound weird, i met my best friend/ex online...he knew my friend so we met through a friend but really on the internet 0_o

 

i met a few people from lpf, but i don't make it a habit to meet people off the internet.

I think dating just online when there is know chance of meeting is desprate. But meeting someone online that lives close to you is perfectly fine. 2 totally different things.

Except that in a club you can actually see the person you are talking to, hear their voice and get a general sense of what they are like. You can't tell anything from text.

but on the other hand, if people actually meet and have a relationship after that, then i dont see anything wrong with it

I've done it twice. And when I say it's a waste of time I mean it in the nicest way possible. I made two really awesome friends but I mean it's POINTLESS for teenagers. I mean you can never see them so what's the point? If your older and you can like drive and fly then maybe. But for like teenagers it's a waste. I don't judge people harshly when they say they dated online (mainly becuase I did the same) but I wouldnt even if I never did. Everybody has their own thing. Who are we to judge people? I mean obviously it may not be safe, that's why you don't rush to do stupid shit. You make sure you've spoken on the phone and know them good enough before you take risks like that, and even if it's still risky buisness. I think in todays society with so much perveted idiots you can never take chances. I mean they show on shows like dateline, 60 minutes, Oprah that women find these "awesome" guys and they are so careful, then they think they are safe enough to meet and the dude rapes them. I mean its hard to read minds. I've tried only to fall into a pit of spikes called Failure. Seriously though if people want to do it that's their own choice and I think its far from our right to crucify them with comments like "Freaks, loosers, or desperate people" I am not and was not desperate. I just wanted to try it out and probably got a little too close and kinda fell in "Love". But yeah whatever turns you on.

It can work if done safely. There are a lot of sick people out there. A 13 year old girl not far from where I live met a 30 year old online and they met. Well he ended up killing her. I really think you need to be careful esp if you are young and may "think" you are in love.
