azemkamikaze03 Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Despite the cowboy setreotype it has earned, I feel as though Country music is the deepest of all genres. The lyrics truely are better than rock or raps. It touches closer to home and has a bit of a more realistic feel to it. It's also alot more relaxing. Agree Disagree? Quote ¿whysoserious?
Victim Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Personally, I agree.. I greq up listening to Country.. I love country music, despite how most people I know hate it.. It is the music that describes how life really is.. and it is relaxing to listen to.. But its also great if you wanna have a good time.. Hybrid Soldier Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Only country I listen to is psychobilly, which is a sort of a sub genre, and also, its not the deepest lyrics(at least in my opinion), youth crew and metalcore has some of the deepest lyrics of any genre out there in my opinion. Quote
Reflectionist Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 I disagree, simply because every single country song I've ever heard in my entire life sounded exactly the same. There are only a few topics in a country song: Trucks, Love, and Prison. And Beer. I just really really hate country. I don't think that it is intelligent at all. Country artists are the stupidist lyricisits I've ever heard. And sure it's relaxing, because you subconsciously tell yourself, "I'm glad I don't think it's cool to wear a huuuuuuuge hat and tiiiiiiiiiiight jeans everywhere I go." azemkamikaze03 Posted May 14, 2006 Author Posted May 14, 2006 RASCAL FLATTS LYRICS "Skin" [Hidden Track] Sarabeth is scared to death To hear what the doctor will say She hasn't been well Since the day that she fell And the bruise, it just won't go away So she sits and she waits with her mother and dad Flips through an old magazine Till the nurse with a smile Stands at the door And says will you please come with me Sarabeth is scared to death Cause the doctor just told her the news Between the red cells and white Something's not right But we're gonna take care of you Six chances in ten it won't come back again With the therapy were gonna try It's just been approved It's the strongest there is I think we caught it in time Sarabeth closes her eyes And she dreams she's dancing Around and around without any cares And her very first love is holding her close And the soft wind is blowing her hair Sarabeth is scared to death As she sits holding her mom Cause it would be a mistake For someone to take A girl with no hair to the prom For, just this morning right there on her pillow Was the cruelest of any surprise And she cried when she gathered it all in her hands The proof that she couldn't deny Sarabeth closes her eyes And she dreams she's dancing Around and around without any cares And her very first love was holding her close And the soft wind is blowing her hair Its quarter to seven That boys at the door And her daddy ushers him in And when he takes off his cap They all start to cry Cause this mornin where his hair had been Softly she touches just skin And they go dancin Around and around without any cares And her very first true love is holding her close And for a moment she isn't scared Got a date a week from Friday with a preacher's son Everybody says he's crazy I'll have to see I finally moved to Jackson when the summer came I won't have to pay that boy to rake my leaves I'm probably going on and on It seems I'm doing more of that these days [CHORUS 1:] I probably wouldn't be this way I probably wouldn't hurt so bad I never pictured every minute without you in it Oh You left so fast Sometimes I see you standing there Sometimes it's like I'm losing touch Sometimes I feel that I'm so lucky to have had the chance to love this much God gave me a moment's grace 'Cause if I'd never seen your face I probably wouldn't be this way Mama says that I just shouldn't speak to you Susan says that I should just move on You oughta see the way these people look at me When they see me 'round here talking to this stone Everybody thinks I've lost my mind But I just take it day by day [CHORUS 2:] I probably wouldn't be this way I probably wouldn't hurt so bad I never pictured every minute without you in it Oh You left so fast Sometimes I see you standing there Sometimes I feel an angel's touch Sometimes I feel that I'm so lucky to have had the chance to love this much God gave me a moment's grace 'Cause if I'd never seen your face I probably wouldn't be this way Probably wouldn't be this way Got A Date a week from Friday with a preacher's son Everybody says I'm crazy Guess I'll have to see These are just two lyrics. Sure they talk about their (cowboy, bar) triats but its similar to how rappers talk about living in the streets, the only diffrence is that in general most rappers dont ever branch of into anything besides being gangster, fighting, weed, and women. Of course you have the occasional two rappers that noone knows besides the internet hiphop obsessed fans know about, but I mean in reality there are more country songs that have more variety in their lyrics then say rap or rock. azemkamikaze03 Posted May 14, 2006 Author Posted May 14, 2006 Lol, typical response though right? I mean I could make a similar statement. Rappers are just a bunch of angry people who smoke weed and grab their balls. I mean why would you grab your balls? Does it hurt when they talk? Quote ¿whysoserious?
ImTheOneThatFalls Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Country musicians are in-bread though, thats wrong :O THE GENRE IS WRONG! I think i have an idea as to what that meant... Hybrid Soldier Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 ANd that is why all i listen to is metalcore and youth crew and some underground rap here and there, which is pretty damn far from mainstream. And btw, those lyrics werent that great. Quote

Its not like country's the onylk grenre that has that effect. Yes, that is true.. but when I listen to it, and maybe its just me, I feel like the artist is just an everyday person..
