Notice how when you really look at it' date=' alot of lead singers from rock bands really cant sing. Every notice how both rock bands and country singer artists play some version of a guitar. and usually talk about the same things. I mean your guy's arguments are weak. Practically the argument you people make against country can be made for every genre of music there is.[/quote']

Yeah, but at least they've joined the 20th century, and aren't stuck in the 1800's "Let's Go WEST and Run Cattle all over the country" attitude.

Country's a little outdated, bro.

(This next part is extremely satirical, just so you know)

Besides, In the Bible, next to the verse that says "I the Lord hate fags" it says, "I the Lord hate country music."

oh lets.

However, I am not completely against country, I agree some of it can be nice and relaxing to listen to(like "in the orchard" by tiger army, even though theyre psychobilly), however its all too damn smilar for me(except psychobilly that is).

That is a very subjective question, it's a matter of opinion.

Personally, I don't listen to any country. I don't particularly like the genre, but then again, I haven't really heard that much of it so I can't make a judgement whether it's "shit" or not. The most relaxing music that I listen to is indie or acoustic and I prefer it =]

Whatever floats your boat really. If you like country, good on you, if you don't, stop being so judgemental of it and accept it. There's some unneccesary tension in here.

Most country songs ARENT the same, they talk about having Fun, being yourself, some are dance songs(to ya know...DANCE to) ect ect.

some songs have DEEP meaning to them and touch people....like this song, one of my long-time friends found this song FULL of meaning to him....

Everyone has their fav genre, you can't say one genre sucks and the other doesnt' just cuz you don't like the style of the music. It's the same for the artists, you can't say he's not talented just because you don't like their genre of music.

I don't there's a need for tension between the genres, if you don't like the music then don't listen to it, there's no need to trash it. It's like if you don't liek chocolate ice cream then don't eat it, eat vanilla, and if others like chocolate, I don't see a reason for you to trash them for eating that flavor of ice-cream.

Pop and rock artists have long been drawn to country music for its vivid story songs and crack musicians.

Thought that was kinda interesting..

However, by posting that quote in a sense you were endorsing the message, as you did not speak derogitoritively(wow, i dont think thats correct) about the statement or anything said in it.

I'm not trying to ignite a fire, but I don't think he's endorsing the message, sounds more like he posted out of sheer interest, or per say, sharing.

and thats excactly what I did.. I thought the quote was interesting since most people who listen to rock hate country music and some rock musicians themselves like country.. I thought other people as well would find it interesting.. Ima not trying to through it in anyone's face that rockers like country music... Or trying to say " HA HA, your all wrong and I am right." and if thats what you thought, you were wrong...I thought it was an intresting quote and I thought yall would too, but apparently I was wrong.

i disagree because countrys lyrics arent as good as rock or even rap, and i personaly dont like the country music. But it should always be alive like any other gerne, to make this worl more colerful.

wooop twangy music...yea my mum listens to them and some are actually quite talented, theyre amazing...this one guy recorded his whole cd in his livingroom with the live band in there too and stretching out in the hallway...he sang the song through once...no music infront (they all improvised) and that was it, no mistakes...and really good

i wouldnt personally listen to a lot of them, but i do respect them...>.<

I disagree, simply because every single country song I've ever heard in my entire life sounded exactly the same. There are only a few topics in a country song: Trucks, Love, and Prison. And Beer.

I just really really hate country. I don't think that it is intelligent at all. Country artists are the stupidist lyricisits I've ever heard. And sure it's relaxing, because you subconsciously tell yourself, "I'm glad I don't think it's cool to wear a huuuuuuuge hat and tiiiiiiiiiiight jeans everywhere I go."

It's true what you say , I disagree too ,cause of the same reasons of you. And too cause I really dislike contry , Do you ever see a person who's look like a gothic listen to contry ? Me I never see that , and I think it won't happen, I hope so...

You shouldnt let how you look impact what you listen to, thats just giving into sterotypes of goths.

I've seen it. Infact I've seen a a guy dress gangster prepish listen to heavy metal. That person being me. I listen to every genre of music I can my hands on. Some, obviously more than others, but to say Goths don't listen to country is a lie maybe not the majority, but I'm pretty sure their are some.

Lyrics that don't have to do with Prison, Cowboys, Sex, or beer

Artist : John Michael Montgomery

Title : Letters From Home

My Dear Son, it is almost June,

I hope this letter catches up to you, and finds you well.

Its been dry but they're calling for rain,

And everything's the same ol' same in Johnsonville.

Your stubborn 'ol Daddy ain't said too much,

But I'm sure you know he sends his love,

And she goes on,

In a letter from home.

I hold it up and show my buddies,

Like we ain't scared and our boots ain't muddy, and they all laugh,

Like there's something funny bout' the way I talk,

When I say: "Mama sends her best y'all."

I fold it up an' put it in my shirt,

Pick up my gun an' get back to work.

An' it keeps me driving me on,

Waiting on letters from home.

My Dearest Love, its almost dawn.

I've been lying here all night long wondering where you might be.

I saw your Mama and I showed her the ring.

Man on the television said something so I couldn?t sleep.

But I'll be all right, I'm just missing you.

An' this is me kissing you:

XX's and OO's,

In a letter from home.

I hold it up and show my buddies,

Like we ain't scared and our boots ain't muddy, and they all laugh,

'Cause she calls me "Honey", but they take it hard,

'Cause I don't read the good parts.

I fold it up an' put it in my shirt,

Pick up my gun an' get back to work.

An' it keeps me driving me on,

Waiting on letters from home.

Dear Son, I know I ain't written,

But sittin' here tonight, alone in the kitchen, it occurs to me,

I might not have said, so I'll say it now:

Son, you make me proud.

I hold it up and show my buddies,

Like we ain't scared and our boots ain't muddy, but no one laughs,

'Cause there ain't nothing funny when a soldier cries.

An' I just wipe me eyes.

I fold it up an' put it in my shirt,

Pick up my gun an' get back to work.

An' it keeps me driving me on,

Waiting on letters from home.

I thought of this song because of Memorial Day.. and this is one that isn't twangy like most country music you do hear.
