MysteryLpChick Posted June 30, 2006 Author Posted June 30, 2006 Chapter 16 Frozen Heaven Dancing With Fire and Wind Rob sat staring at the large bonfire, the people in the underground city was putting on a small festival. It was their only way to survive with happiness. They seen enough pain and it seemed the only thing Kyle had a heart for was to bring happiness, however, he needed something to feed his huge ego, and that was Savanna. Rob still needed to find something to say to her, it felt like he was on thin ice. Not her at all, when in fact she failed to tell him the truth, only problem was she had a good reason. Therefore, there was nobody to blame for anything. Angela sat on her father’s right side, with her new friend Malika sharing her dolls. Chester came up and sat down on Rob’s left side, with a loud sigh. “Wow, I feel so refreshed. It feels like I’ve been on a toilet for twenty years and finally I’ve found release.” “Aw, dude,” Rob lowered his head, and shook it with his hand on his forehead. “So, what’s with that you and Kyle?” Chester crossed his legs, and watched as Kyle practiced his fighting moves with some children. Showing off his chest, and twirling that long black stick of his. “I don’t know, but he did reveal something to me about Savanna. She’s a government secret weapon, and she’s the key to the war, which I don’t understand that part.” Rob lowered his eyes. “I already knew that…” Chester crossed his arms. “Wait! How did you already know that she was secret weapon?” “Well, it wasn’t that I didn’t know, but I always thought that if somebody that could slice a man in half with one swing, could quite possible be a secret weapon.” Rob frowned at Chester with his sarcastic response. He sighed, and rolled his eyes. “I guess I didn’t think much of it, huh?” Rob returned the remark with his sarcastic appeal. “Look, dude, it’s obvious that you two are feeling each other. Therefore, what is taking so long? It’s get pretty boring after awhile, watching you two back and forth.” Chester picked out an apple from the basket before him. “Okay, listen what’s more important nookie or finding our friends?” “Both,” Chester took a bite of the apple, and started laughing. “Seriously, though, I know it’s hard every since the accident, but listen to me. If you really are going to be hyped up over some guy taking her, just go for it. And don’t worry, we’ll find everyone else.” “Yeah, your right I guess, but I have to focus on other things. Get my thoughts together you know. I mean think of Angela’s case, she thinks Savanna is crazy.” “Who doesn’t think that girl isn’t crazy. She is a government project, Rob. Besides, Angela seems to like her.” “Yeah, I’ve noticed that, but let’s move onto finding our friends. I’ve decided that we leave the kids here for this one, and we go on and find them.” Chester nodded agreement. “Talinda mentioned the same thing too. She’s wanted to stay here; all we need is kick-ass woman.” Rob looked towards the fire, and Savanna came walking towards them. She wore a light brown, strapless belly shirt showing off her flawless abs, and a long, light brown skirt with a long slit. She wore no shoes, only bangles on her ankles. However, Kyle stopped in her tracks. He smiled at her. Rob growled to himself, making Chester a little nervous. He shook his head, and looked over at Kyle and Savanna. “Kick his ass!” he shouted at them. Kyle turned around and growled at Chester. Savanna escaped, and headed over to the two men. “Thank you, Chester,” she said softly; she turned her soft blue gaze at Rob. “Can we talk for a minute…?” Rob nodded and stood up, leaving with Savanna. Angela scooted over next to Chester, and tapped on his shoulder. “What’s with them two?” “Oh, you’ve noticed too?” Chester stared down at the little girl with a soft smile. Rob followed Savanna; the two watched the bonfire blazing brightly with orange and red flames. Savanna turned towards Rob, and placed her hands on his shoulders. She stood up on her tiptoes, and kissed his cheek. Rob’s eyes grew wide with shock. Savanna smiled, and walked off somewhere into the crowd of dancing people. Rob head began to swirl with confusion. He could not believe what just happened. The atmosphere began to swirl with the feeling of happiness. Rob’s cheeks flushed, as he watched the crowd dancing to the beat of the drums. He had not heard the sound of drums in a long time, and he felt calm. He walked back over to his seat, watching through the flames of people dancing wildly. He got the caught glimpse of Savanna shaking her hips to the music, dancing with the flames. The flames they seem to come alive, ready to bite him. To drag him to the real hell, the beating of the drums became faster and faster. She only kissed him, but it was not the kiss. It was the feel of satisfaction. The feel of happiness, the sound of something he had not heard in years. He laid back. His eyes became heavy. Did someone drug him or something? It could not remember. He was calm for once. He was not running he was warm. He closed his eyes, and fell into a deep sleep. Rib reopened his eyes and realized he was lying in his tent. Chester stood over him with a smile on his face. “Dude, what the hell are you doing?” Rob asked tiredly, he rubbed his eye. “Come on, you fell asleep last night, and Kyle wanted to leave you there, but I had to drag you back. We are leaving; you said that you wanted to find the others. Let’s get going.” Chester turned and left the tent. Rob could not quite explain what happened to him last night. He was starting to think that everything was a dream. He collected himself, and left his tent. He saw Savanna dressed in her previous clothes from their travels. Talinda holding her youngest son, and kissing Chester on the cheek, Angela and Malika stood in the small circle of people. Kyle watched with disgust as Rob walked over, yawning. “Wow, I’ve missed a lot. So, we’re leaving already?” Rob stretched, taking another big yawn. “We talked about it while you were sleeping. We decided to leave as soon as possible,” said Savanna. “Talinda would look after the children.” “That seems fair, it’s hard to sit around and make plans,” said Rob. “My people made a map for you; the tunnels lead to several places in the United States. They are all marked by numbers for easy access around the place. However, Savanna, I wonder what purpose you serve for these men. I mean if you stay with me you’ll have a good purpose.” Kyle walked over to Savanna, and touched her cheek. “Suck your own dick you ass. You do not have the power to choose for me at all. So, next time you tell me what to do I will make sure you do not have a dick to use? Oh, wait you don’t have one.” Savanna turned away from him and walked over to Rob. “DAMN!” Chester coughed, snickering at Kyle as the rest of Kyle’s men. Rob kneeled before Angela and hugged her. “Daddy has to go now… I promise to come back.” “I know you always return your promises… like the promise you made to mommy.” Angela touched her father’s cheek, and smiled faintly. “I wish that was always try,” Rob kissed his daughter’s forehead. “I’ll always be in your heart.” Rob grabbed a book bag filled with all their medical supplies and food. Angela ran over to Savanna, and tugged on her pants leg. “Savanna, I have to give you something.” Savanna turned around, and Rob and Chester looked on from a distance. “Your black scarf,” Angela handed it to Savanna, but Savanna shook her head with a smile. “But I’m not scared no more.” “This was a gift to you, and this is a gift you can give to someone who needs it the most. You be the leader, and whenever someone is scared then give them this, okay?” Angela took Savanna by surprise by giving her a hug. Savanna returned the favor, and hugged her back. Rob watched with a small smile. Maybe he could not keep that promise to his decease wife, maybe he truly did find someone that cared for him and his daughter. _________________________ Yes, they are back on the road again. Oh, yes about the church I do not know what to say there. I can’t seem to find a way to introduce myself, maybe I’m just shy a little, and don’t know what to except from so many Rob-lovers. Okay, until next time. Quote LiveJournal | MySpace

Ravynlee Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 Aww - that was sweet. But I have to say that this update actually reminds me of the Matrix (reloaded, was it?) where they're all underground in Zion and having that huge rave-like celebration amid the bonfires and the drumming and so forth... that's what I was imagining anyway I love Chester's inclusion in this. He's like the comedic sidekick to Rob's stern character. Strikes a pretty neat balance between the drama and character relationship. Clever. MysteryLpChick Posted July 3, 2006 Author Posted July 3, 2006 Chapter 18 Frozen Heaven Promises Are Hard to Keep Rob stared at orange and red fire, crackling loudly inside the dark and damp tunnel. He brought his legs up to his chest, and sat his chin down on his kneecaps. Chester snored softly on the other side of the fire. He rolled over and smacked his lips lightly; sleeping on the small mat, they carried with them. Rob was not for sure if they were getting closer or just walking in circles. His mind had been wandering all day. He could not really focus on anything, so he let Chester read the map. Everything was a blur to him; it was like the night before. Only he had not past out yet from confusion. Was he sick from all the different bacteria that might be floating around in the tunnel? No, it was not that… it was more like fear. His heart felt heavy, and of course, his mind was a blur of confusion. He looked up and saw Savanna rummaging through one of the backpacks. She stood up, holding an extra blanket with something on top of it. She walked over to Chester, and unfolded the blanket and flung over his sleeping body. Then she walked over to Rob and stood before him. “I thought you might be hungry,” she said softly, handing him a wrapped turkey sandwich. “One of the women gave us enough food to last us for a week.” “Thanks,” Rob took the turkey sandwich and un-wrapped it slowly. Savanna sat down next to him un-wrapping her own sandwich. Rob took a small bite, and stared at the fire. Savanna lowered her gaze, and scooted closer to him. She began eating her own sandwich. It was a comfortable silence; He needed this to clear his mind. He placed his sandwich down into his wrap and sat it down. “You aren’t going to tell me anything are you?” Savanna shook her head and smiled. “Nope, I don’t need to. I’ll tell you want you need to know, when the time is right.” “Okay, that’s fair enough. I guess that will give me some time to tell you about myself.” Rob picked up the sandwich and finished it quickly. He caught Savanna’s surprised glance from the corner of his eye. Savanna returned to eating her sandwich. Rob turned to face her, with his legs cross Indian-style. “I made a promise a long time ago,” Rob dug through his pocket, pulling out a packet of cigarettes and a lighter. He checked to see if it was all right to Savanna. She nodded her head with her sandwich in her mouth. Rob lit the cigarette lighting up half his face. “I hadn’t been married to her long, but it felt like years… a million years. I loved her with all my heart, and when I found out that she was sick… my heart broke, but my will to protect her and care for her stood strong.” Rob blew out a cloud of smoke. “She was so sweet and funny, she made me laughed. She comforted me whenever I felt down. In addition, when Angela was born I was so grateful and filled with joy, but when the doctors told me having children made it worse… I felt responsible… but of course, she did not blame me. Four years past… and she became sicker until she took her last breath… that is when I promised that I would never fall in love again. That I promised to my daughter as well…” Savanna lost her appetite for her sandwich. She was not sure how to feel about this. He was the only one she cared about for the first time in her life. Even though she did not tell him what she really was, he did not run away from her whenever she attacked those who wanted them. She was human to him, and not a toy. Now he was telling her that he could not return the favor because of a promise. She did not understand, she never would understand, and never taught to understand. “I’m just a toy…” she said slowly, catching Rob of guard. “I don’t understand….” “I don’t either---” he dropped his cigarette onto the ground, smashing it into the minute puddle of water beside him. Savanna placed her sandwich down, and she crawled over to him. Rob leaned back on his back, as she crawled on top of him. She hugged him gently, unsure of her actions. She touched his lips with her fingers, tracing them gently. Rob cupped her face into his hands, and smiled. “Those eyes… they look familiar…,” he said in a daze. She leaned forward, and bit his bottom lip gently. He attacked her lips softly; he pulled away after few seconds, and ran his hands through her hair. “There are some promises I have to keep… no matter how hard I fight it… Savanna… don’t cry,” Rob brushed a few stray tears that poured from her icy orbs. “I’ll always love you….” Savanna pulled away from him, and stood up. She turned on her heel and walked into the darkness. Rob sighed completely confused of the situation. Chester spied on them, watching them still lying down on the mat. He rolled back over onto his back, and sighed softly. “Idiot…” Quote LiveJournal | MySpace

MysteryLpChick Posted July 6, 2006 Author Posted July 6, 2006 Chapter 18 Frozen Heaven Aqua Fire Chester felt the tension, and he really hated it. He figured since he was around such great people for almost his adult life. He was able to connect without any problems. Maybe he could understand Rob’s reasoning behind it, because he was there when Vanessa passed away. He even noticed that he would not he even speak her name to anyone, not even his daughter. Rob was set in his own ways that he would never give up a promise. For that reason Chester could not agree with Rob, he had to admit Savanna was worth keeping, besides the secret weapon part. Savanna walked beside Chester quietly, staring forward. Rob walked ahead of them reading the map carefully. He stopped making Chester and Savanna stopped as well, they both looked at each other with confusion and back towards Rob. “I guess the road ends here. I believe when we exit the tunnel we would be in Ohio.” Rob stared at the map closely, shining the flashlight onto it. “Let’s keep going.” Rob started walking again. He didn’t even turn around to face them. Chester clenched his fist; he was getting annoyed by Rob’s childish behavior. Savanna lowered her eyes, but she shot a surprised look towards Chester when he placed hand on her shoulder. “Don’t worry about him… he’ll come in his own time. Better to let him worry about this now, okay?” he whispered to her, smiling softly at her. “Yes, I guess so…” Savanna shot a faint smile towards Chester, and they started walking again. It was fifteen minutes later, that Chester began patting his ears. He looked around curiously; he looked back at Savanna, who stared at him with confusion. “What’s the matter, Chester?” “Do you hear water?” he asked her, sticking his index finger in and out of his ear. Savanna looked around. The tunnel had become narrow, and the walls became wet. So far the tunnel was dark and damp, and there was nothing much to describe upon it. However, this was weird the tunnel had gotten more cramped. Rob stopped. He looked down. There was a whole sea of water; however, when he looked up there was a small circle door. Three lights shined down from the two holes in the door. “How the hell are we supposed to get up there?” Rob mused; he folded the map up angrily. “Maybe I can be a service,” Savanna stepped up next to Rob; she looked down at the sea of water. “I’ll swim down to see how deep it is, and see if there’s another exit.” Savanna placed the pack down next to the wet wall. She stepped up on the edge, and braced herself for the cold, unknown water of the tunnel. She jumped in gracefully, a loud splash echoed throughout the area. Chester stepped up beside Rob, and watched as bubbles lightly popped onto the surface. Rob watched anxiously as the minutes passed. Was Savanna okay down there? The two men jumped when she popped back up to the surface. She wiped her face off with her wet hands to remove the strands of black hair plaster to her face. “So, what’s up?” Chester asked, kneeling down onto one knee. “The water isn’t that deep, and there’s a ladder over there.” Savanna pointed to the wall, where there was a steel ladder. “There isn’t any other way to get over, so you guys have to dive in.” The ground shook, and rumbling sound echoed behind Chester and Rob. The two looked back each other with confusion. They looked behind them. Chester grabbed the pack that Savanna had left. He waved goodbye to Rob, and smiled. “Okay, time to go…” he jumped in, splashing Savanna. Rob followed in quick pursuit, but just as he did a blast of water followed behind him. Rob dropped deep into the water; the rush of water from where they jumped off gave him a hard time to breath and pop back up for air. Chester popped out, but he felt his back hit something. He turned around and saw a man floating face down. Chester titled his head in curiosity. It was hard to tell if it was Rob or not. Slowly he flipped the body over, however; sicken shock of a dead man staring back at him with one eye and the rest of his face gone. Chester pushed the body back, but he felt something pull him downwards deep into the water. The current was strong, and the water was rising higher and higher. Rob managed to pop back up, but he was quickly pulled back down by the current. The force of the water pouring in, caused the nails to push out of the wall, and soon the steel ladder came tumbling into the water. Deep down Rob and Chester met face-to-face, signal for each other to swim back up if possible. However, the ladder fell and separated the two. Chester pushed back to the surface. The current of the water pushed the ladder back up, causing it to float. Chester looked around, the water was rising, and the current was getting stronger. He didn’t know what to do. Everything was going so fast. Underwater, Rob was losing his breath quickly, and he couldn’t pull back up either. He was right under the force of the water that poured into the small pool. His pants leg was caught on something sharp. He couldn’t see. He didn’t know what to do. It wasn’t until he saw a faint outline, slowly swim downwards, and he could feel someone unhooking him. Then they swam towards him and wrapped their arm around him, and they swam up with all their might. Savanna, Rob, and Chester met face-to-face coughing and the top of their heads meeting the top of the ceiling. Savanna unhooked herself from Rob’s waist, and pushed onto the round door. He was heavy, and she couldn’t pull all her strength together. She was weak from all the swimming back and forth. Chester and Rob gave her hand pushing with all their might. The door slowly ajar, but not enough, the water was to their noses, they were running out of time. With one, finally push the door opened, they were soon fully under water. Chester pushed Savanna upwards, and she pulled herself out, gasping for air. Soon Chester pulled himself up, and he leaned a hand Rob pulling him out. The three collapsed onto the ground, coughing and breathing harshly. They were soaked down to their underwear and socks. They didn’t have to exchange words. All of them felt the same, and never wanted to go swimming again for as long as they lived. _______________________ Yes, another update for Frozen Heaven! MysteryLpChick Posted July 13, 2006 Author Posted July 13, 2006 Chapter 19 Frozen Heaven Double Raven Rob shivered lightly as the gust of wind blown across his wet back. Chester, Rob, and Savanna both staggered down the Ohio road, the wind blowing every once in awhile, the sky becoming dark with rain clouds looming low. The clothes dripping with water, and the only remnants of their being left behind were their footprints made from their wet shoes. Thunder rumbled overhead, giving the trio exhausted glances of worry. Savanna shivered, hugging herself tightly from the cool breeze, the wind shuffling the bare trees that scattered bits and pieces of the farmland. Rob stopped pulling off his wet sweatshirt, placing it over Savanna shoulders. He walked past her looking down, not wanting to meet her surprised glance. Savanna blinked in confusion. She knew that Rob’s sweatshirt was not going to do much, but in a way, he still cared for her. Chester smiled faintly at the kind gesture that Rob displayed. Thunder rumbled even louder, than in a blink of an eye a downpour of rain dropped onto the traveling trio. The three sighed in tired voices, but their tired faces turned into disgusted and angry glances. Fish flies came at them, giving the birds plenty to eat, but the trio jitters. Chester spit one out of his month, and kept walking. It was no use in stopping; they had to go somewhere, but where? Rob worried and tired eyes came across a barn, and old woman leaning forwards. She waved her hands in the air to gain their attention. Savanna and Chester caught the old woman’s motions, and the trio ran towards the barn. Close up the woman had wrinkled skin, but kind blue eyes. Her hair was completely gray, and she wore old dress. “Come inside,” she ordered, watching the trip slip inside the barn embracing the heat. She closed the barn door, and a light flicked on overhead. “Oh my goodness, you all look like hell.” Chester smiled at the old woman’s speech. He liked her from the start; she did not seem like the type to betray anyone. The old woman caught onto Chester’s thoughts and let out a low chuckle. “Don’t worry about me. I’ve seen one Depression, two World Wars, and two Bushes offices, I’m too old for such nonsense.” “Thank you for the shelter,” said Rob, nodding to the old woman. “No problem… now you all comes with me. I will have a warm bath waiting for all three of you, and fresh clothes. Only one thing…” the old woman stopped and smiled. “What’s that?” Chester asked curiously, titling his head to the side. “Please take off those clothes before you track nasty flies in my house,” the woman laughed, making Rob blush and Savanna turned around to take off her clothes. The old woman pointed to some blankets to save Rob from further embarrassment. A few hours later, Savanna slept peacefully on the old woman’s couch, wearing a T-shirt and baggy pants. Rob and Chester sat at the kitchen table, where the old woman poured them hot cocoa for them. Chester picked up one of the homemade cookies sitting on the plate before him. The old woman laughed at Chester, who stole a few more bites. “Dear me, have you eaten a good home cook meal?” she asked, sitting down across from the two boys. “No, I don’t remember the last time that I have eaten one, but from what I’m smelling it won’t be long.” Chester said, grabbing the hot mug of cocoa. “Mary thanks again for letting us stay here.” Rob thanked again, taking one of the cookies. “No, problem dear, you were all a favorite in this old house,” she said, getting up and checking on the turkey in the oven. “Huh? What do you mean by us being a favorite in this house?” Chester asked, taking another bite of his cookie. “Oh, my grandsons use to listen to you guys day in and day out. My husband didn’t quite care for it, but I learned to adapt.” Mary chuckled, and sat back down at her place at the table. “Are you the only one here?” Rob asked curiously. “Yes, my husband passed away two years ago. My daughters moved out west and my grandsons’ they all went out for the war. There was nothing I could do to stop them from going…” Mary stopped and glanced at Savanna. “But I never thought I would ever see her again.” Rob looked back at Savanna, and then at Mary. “You know Savanna?” he asked in shock. “I don’t know her personally, but my grandson, well the youngest worked for the National Defense Foundation… different from fighting… they worked in the field of advance human structures. My son told me about two sisters, whom the scientist dubbed Ravens. When he told me of their project, and the look of the Ravens, I became curious myself, but it died away. However, I didn’t think I would recognize her so soon, or in this lifetime for that matter.” “So, she is a government project… but two sisters they are more?” Rob stared into the woman’s eyes. “Well, I’m not for sure, but the more the Raven feeds and kill. The more dangerous it becomes. From what I heard, she’s key to the final weapon… I think I said too much.” Mary placed her wrinkled hand onto her cheek. “No, you didn’t I need to know more… what’s the final weapon?” Rob’s eyes became steady and curious, the flames flickering in the fireplace setting in the background. “How do you think they stopped the Japanese back in World War II?” “A nuclear bomb…” Rob trailed off his eyes becoming wide, and his mind and heart becoming darker. ____________________ Sorry, I have not updated in awhile, but not that long actually. MysteryLpChick Posted July 21, 2006 Author Posted July 21, 2006 Chapter 20 Frozen Heaven Walking Down the Road Rob leaned against the dusty walls of the barn outside, he sighed deeply. Trying to process the information, Savanna was a key source to stopping the war, but that meant she was a key source in killing all of them. He wanted to ask Mary if Savanna was the bomb, but it did not seem logical to him actually. Mary explained that Savanna fighting skills become stronger and stronger, that meant the more she killed or protected herself. She was of course starting up her inner strength. Rob looked down the road. It was quiet. The swarm of fish flies had stopped, and so did the rain. He looked down at the ground staring deeply at the cluster of pebbles on the ground. The pebbles began to shake slightly, unsure if he was going crazy, or if his eyes ached from staring so hard. He rubbed his eyes with his index finger and thumb. He blinked to get his vision back to normal; he turned his gaze from downwards towards the road. Four army trucks rumbled up the road, with one man hanging onto the back of each one. Rob hid behind a tree; he squatted, peering at the trucks with curiosity. A sense of fear ripped through his heart, sweat slowly produced on his forehead, his breath slightly staggering from the heavy fear on his heart. Dirty hands and droopy eyes peered back him, but whoever held that look of sadness and death could not see him, but it seemed as if they could. The four army trucks passed by, not realizing that he was there. Rob stood up, watching the backs of the four-army trucks rumble down the Ohio road. He quickly slipped back into the barn, where Chester paced back and forth clearly thinking deeply. He looked up and his eyes asked without words. What was the matter with Rob? Rob headed over to large stack of hay, and sat down. “We’re prisoners of our own land…,” he said softly, holding back tears. Memories of those eyes and hands in the back those trucks plague him. “It’s not like I haven’t notice that, but we aren’t the only ones. Thousands, no millions of people are suffering in every single country throughout this world. People use to think they were safe, at peace with others… but power brought everything down.” Chester sat on a stack of hay across from Rob. “You are truly one of a kind, Chester.” Rob smiled, he sighed softly. “I saw some trucks going down the road. I think they lead to the camps where maybe the others are.” “Oh, your right boys,” said Mary, staggering out of the house and into the barn. “There are camps up North… two camps are housing Asian-Americans and one camp, the largest is housing Jewish-Americans. Are you boys planning on going there?” “Yeah, to save our friends, why?” Rob jumped off the stack of hay, causing a few blocks to fall. “It’s a bit dangerous, no one is safe there. Not even the guards themselves, but of course, being paid to keep everything in check. Such loyalty for friends, I suggest you take your other friend.” Mary suggested, smiling softly at the two young men. “Take me where?” asked Savanna, walking out from the house and into the barn. Rob’s heart instantly transformed from heavy fear to confusion. Savanna did not stand before him dressed in all black, but she wore a simple, strapless, white sundress. Her hair was down, but her eyes sparkled with kindness. She looked just like his deceased wife, even though in reality they held no physically likeness at all. Could it be that Rob had truly wanted Savanna to serve as another partner? Chester cleared his throat, breaking the silence and daze from Rob. Savanna did not catch on at all, but only turned her attention to Mary. “What’s going on?” she asked once more, trying to recapture the pervious conversation. “Your friends want to rescue the others from the camps. I suggested that it would be best to take you.” Mary did not need any reason to hide her knowledge from Savanna, and surprising to Rob, Savanna did not question it either. “Of course, I owe my loyalty for everything that they have done for me thus far. Do you have any idea if the camps are split up in any kind of order?” Savanna swayed her eyes from Rob to Mary, ready for business. “Yes, well Asian-Americans, are broken up Korean to Japanese. Does that serve as any help?” Mary asked softly, seeing how Chester and Rob’s eyes both widen in shock. “Yeah, that gives us a chance to find three of our friends in all three camps. Maybe Kenji might have information on one more and we can be home free back to Kenji’s base for safety.” Rob exclaimed, smiling brightly. Mary nodded and turned to retrieve maps from upstairs. Rob felt the road ahead of him was going to be touch no matter who was on their team of defense. However, Savanna seemed willing to help him… and he liked that greatly. Chester kept quiet, watching Rob sneak peeks of Savanna in her new dress. _______________________ Yes, I finally finished the newest chapter of Frozen Heaven. I am so glad that I found time to sit down and update. Now the story will be turning into action, and my same disclaimer applies for this story. Therefore, I must warn you this will not be a PG-13 story… nothing to extreme, but to get the point across. You should be meeting the rest of the band in about two more chapters, hey maybe even in one more chapter. Well, tell me what you think of the chapter. By the way, I really like the chapter titles for each chapter; they hold some meaning to each chapter I guess you can say. : Smiles: P.S.: Thanks for keeping Frozen Heaven stronger, and of course, Mike’s Guide to Surviving High School. Without that story I wouldn’t have challenged myself to write this one. Quote LiveJournal | MySpace

MysteryLpChick Posted July 30, 2006 Author Posted July 30, 2006 Chapter 21 Frozen Heaven What You Cannot See Blue Eyes The stench was unbearable; it was mixture of blood and death, with the sprinkle of the dead Earth caused by constant fires erupting from the pollution rising from the tall factories in the distance. Chester had puked more than six times, and his stomach could not take the stench anymore. Savanna would take out some rubbing alcohol from the pack, and dab some alcohol onto a cotton ball. She would have Chester hold it under his nose until the smell drifted away, the more the group got closer to the camps the more the alcohol would not work. Rob was afraid, shaking from memories of the man attacking him back Chicago. What could he possible do now that he was in territory that hated his kind? Then again, Savanna was runaway science project, and Chester would serve as much of a threat to them, because he was hanging around the two of them. Most likely, they would make him a solider of war without a choice. Chester held his stomach, cringing in pain as he felt his stomach turning. Savanna perked up, her icy-blue eyes glazed over with familiarity. “The scenery it has changed…,” she said softly, her eyes staring at the dead trees and the live trees. “Now that you mention… these trees seems fake. Actually, everything up ahead looks manmade,” said Rob, staring at the trees, he walked over the trees with numerous and, oddly healthy green leaves. He plucked one leaf from a low branch. However, it felt rubbery. “We’re close to one of the camps. The fake trees serve as diversion for trespassers. They want us to keep walking; not everything here is what it seems. Those tall smoke stacks up ahead… those are camps.” Savanna stared at the blazing smoke shooting out of the smokestacks every so often. “How do you know all this stuff?” asked Rob, watching as Savanna started checking out the current environment. “Um… dude, she’s a government project… of course she’s going to know this stuff.” Chester placed a hand on Rob’s shoulder, and followed Savanna as she walked down the path. Rob followed as well, still a bit curious of Savanna’s knowledge. Savanna walked slowly down the paths, the smoke stacks become clearly, as they walked. Rob and Chester becoming accustom to Savanna’s quiet observations, the two decided to do some observations themselves. Chester and Rob knew that it was wrong to stare at Savanna, but the choice clothes that she was wearing made them feel calmer than the situation at hand. She wore leather cat suit, with belts going across her waist and legs. Chester nudged Rob in the arm. “I’m staring at your girl…,” he whispered in joking manor. “Chester what the hell is you talking about? Why are you staring at her like that anyway?” Rob countered back, not getting gist of Chester’s joke. “So, one you were staring at her like that, and two you don’t like it when other guys touch her!” Chester whispered back, watching Rob’s face flare in red-hot heat. “Yup, my guess was right.” “No, your guess isn’t, because it not her body that makes her… it’s her in general!” whispered Rob, unable to catch what he just said. “Ah-Haaaaaaaaaah…” Chester yelled, as they all felt their feet leaving the Earth and into a tunnel down below buried in the ground. The three slid down the metal tunnel, bumping against metal walls creating cuts and bruises along their bodies. Then the three fell into a pile of wet, yet had objects. Chester took in a deep breath trying his best to recapture his breath from the unexpected fall. Rob looked around, and saw severally severed body parts in the large piles. Rob almost jumped out of his skin, as he jumped down off the pile and onto the floor. Savanna slid down, and her high-heeled boots clicked against the smooth pavement. Chester rolled down, hitting his head on the pavement after tripping over one of the detached body limbs. “Where did these come from?” asked Rob, his voice shaking in fear. “Remember we are in a human camp… they’ll do anything to destroy what isn’t like them.” Savanna slowly walked over towards the wall, placing her hand gently on the wall. “I can feel marks in the wall… they like Japanese symbols… these messages created by their very own fingernails… created from their last thought.” Rob stared at her with sadness. It was as if she could feel their pain from within their words. Footsteps ranging throughout the dark atmosphere, Chester scooted over quietly towards Savanna, hoping that she would take care of the unexpected guest. Rob looked over at Savanna, the dim light coming from the rectangle-shaped windows made her angelic, but deadly nonetheless. Her icy-blue eyes began to glow, strangely enough. Rob was about to speak her name, when she took off into the darkness. “Where the hell is she going?” Chester asked, in a hush and frantic voice. Rob pointed towards a latter behind them. Chester rushed towards the latter, and climbed up quickly. Unable to wait and the footsteps becoming closer, Rob took off in the direction Savanna had run off. Chester looked down from the platform he was standing on in confusion; he crouched down when he saw three armed guards checking the area. Chester checked left and right, and found that there was a long, dark hallway. He crawled towards the hallway, and quickly got up and ran down the hallway. Quote LiveJournal | MySpace
MysteryLpChick Posted July 30, 2006 Author Posted July 30, 2006 Chapter 21 Continued Rob could not tell where he was going, but it had to lead him somewhere. He stopped when he saw a dim light shining down the hallway, the sound of chains clattering together and heavy breathing made him anxious and scared to see what was up ahead. Taking his steps more lightly, and making sure, he breathing was too loud. Rob walked carefully approaching the up coming light. He came to the corner, and slowly poked his head out to see a familiar figured held by chains on each arms. “Mike!” shouted Rob, running over to him, and grabbing onto the chains. Mike let out a loud gasp of pain, and hissed back in further tears. Rob studied his face and body. He wore a black shirt and jeans, his face was tired and his chocolate brown eyes were blank. His fairly olive-skin was pale, with various cuts and bruises. “Rob… I thought were gone…,” he slowly said, giving his friend a faint smile. “Everyone else is gone… I don’t know where they are… or if I’ll ever see them again.” Tears slowly drifted down his dry face, as he lowered his head. “Don’t worry, Mike. Everything will be okay… I’ve found Chester, Talinda, and their boys, and I’ve found many people willing to help us.” Rob reassured Mike, searching for a way to break Mike from his chains. He searched around for something, and found an ax lying in pile of tools. Rob rushed over to it, and picked up the heavy ax. He hosted it carefully, and took a few swings at the locks on each wall holding Mike. After a few swings, the lock came undone, and then Rob went for the middle of the chains so that Mike would not have lug long chains around when they escaped. Mike fell forward with a loud thud. Rob dropped the ax, and rushed over to his friend, rolling him over onto his back. “Mike you have to snap out of it… if you want to get out of here alive, okay? Do you have any idea how to get out of here at least?” Rob knew that if he got Mike out of here quickly, he could come back and find Chester and Savanna. Rob heard footsteps once again, but was not for sure what to do. He stood up and grabbed Mike by each leg, and started dragging him, but he heard a gun click. He turned around found two armed guards staring back him. He turned his head once again and found two more armed guards pointing their guns in his face, and guns held by the others behind his head. “Don’t move, what the hell are you doing with him?” one guard asked, standing behind Rob. Rob did not know what to say, because he was caught red handed. They moved in closer, and Rob was at lost for what he could do to save Mike or himself. That is when he heard the rattling of chains echoing throughout the dark hallway. Rob just thought it was just another prisoner, but then he heard one of the guards from behind choking. Afraid to turn around, he just stood there. One of the guards in front of him quickly turned on his heels and ran off. A black figure charged after the running guard, and then shots rang after the black figure. However, the shots hit the other guard standing in front of Rob. In the midst of the confusion, Rob could hear high-heeled footsteps running into the dark after the scared guard. Rob knew that it was Savanna, the shot ceased and a body fell over behind him with a thud. “Hey, you found Mike!” Rob turned around, and found Chester holding a crowbar. “Hey, was that Savanna who ran past here?” asked Rob, walking over to Chester. “I guess so… you can’t really tell with the darkness. But guess who I found?” Chester jumped to Mike, and grabbed him by the arm. “I found the others… I heard some guards talking about the other camps are overcrowded, and they have been taking in others. And they left their computer on… it had a map of the camp displayed.” “Good we’re lucky that they are all in one camp. Now, we have Mike… we can get the others. Let’s go,” ordered Rob, grabbing Mike’s other arm. Chester and Rob balanced Mike between them as Chester showed Rob the way. It was not a short walk, but the darkness made everything seem eternal. Chester stopped at the end of the hall. It was a dead end. He walked over to it, the darkness shadowing the eyes of the other prisoners sitting in their cells. Unsure of what to make of the two newcomers, Rob followed, dragging Mike along, who he thought did not have in life within his heart, but he was still breathing. In the hollow light overhead, Brad and Joe looked in surprise to Chester and Rob. “…. They said it would be wise to put old friends together in an old cell…” Brad said softly, standing up and heading to the bars with small smile. “So, you came… after all this time we thought you guys were gone.” “Yeah, we aren’t going to forget about our friends…” Chester dug through his pocket, and pulled out a key. Rob looked at him with confusion. “I picked the guard’s pocket I knocked out.” Rob nodded in conformation. Chester searched for the lock on the door. When he finally placed the key in the lock he turned, and the old locks came open. Brad and Joe rushed out, giving Chester a hug. Rob saw all the lights come on. “Damn, we better get out of here!” “But what about Savanna?” asked Chester, as he helped Rob with Mike. “She can take care of herself. I am sure she will meet us on the way. Chester do you know how to get out of here?” “Yeah, follow me!” Chester gave Mike’s other arm to Brad, who was in better health. The group followed Chester, watching as every overhead light turned on. Alerting guards that there were intruders on the loose. What got to Rob was the fact that in all this darkness they could still see them somehow. They came to a group of stairs and large glass doors down below, but they stopped in their tracks when they saw four men with machine guns pointed at them. The old group was not for sure how to react, so they lost breath, ready to embrace the bullets that would come flying towards them any second. Savanna jumped out of the sky, landing on the stairs and charging at the guards with incredible speed. Her fist met one of the guards’ stomach, causing the man to spit out blood and something unquestionable, possibly his heart. Then her foot connected with the other guard standing next to him, causing the same reaction. She jumped back, as the third guard chased her. She reached out and slapped him and punched him the face, a loud sickening crack echoed causing Rob, Chester, Brad, and Joe to cringe. The last guard came out with a stun gun. He charged her once again, and jumped back and raised her high-heeled boot towards his leg, causing him to run into the sharp heel. He yelled in pain, and she twirled around and kicked him the stomach making him drop his stun gun. Savanna grabbed the stun gun before he hit the floor, and she smashed the gun into his eye shocking him to death. The last guard fell backwards with a loud thud, Savanna turned around and motioned for the others to follow. In the shadows, there stood a women wearing a lab coat. She smiled as she watched the group leaving, a man stood next to her pointing at them as they left. “They are getting away!” he yelled. “No, leave them… I’ll take care of her…,” the woman said, turning away and walking into the shadows. ______________________________ It was time for an update I figured. Well, I hope everyone like this one… for the most part I was in daze while writing the middle section of this story. I was in deep thought about something, oh well. Enjoy the chapter, the same disclaimer applies for each chapter. Tell me what you think, okay? Quote LiveJournal | MySpace
