This happens to me a lot.

 

What I usually do is just try to dream. I take hypnagogic imagery and think about stuff and try to make myself dream, haha. (hypnagogic imagery is all the colors/objects/whatever you see when you close your eyes)

 

My second option is to whip out my Nintendo DS and play until I'm tired, or sit up with my laptop.

Me being partial to insomia sometimes just watch something on tv like Quizmania or one of them call in shows....... ur bound to fall asleep after watching such numb minded programming =]

Delete my account, the is no reason why it should be against standard procediure, do it do it do it.

 

Or LPF Sessions 3 leaks before it's done and Spoilers will be posted for every film release. Not to mention periodic troll invasions.

^ Yeeah I can watch ITV Play for hours if I can't fall asleep! But then I end up getting hooked and having to watch it until all the missing bits have gone XD

 

But other than that I just lie there and dream about stuff...

i suffer from insomnia and i find reading sends me off to sleep, i have fell asleep many times with the book covering my face lol

 

another way is relax your body from the feet upwards, start from your feet and just let them relax then work your way upwards slowly.

 

also don't drink coffee, tea or fizzy drinks bsfore sleeping. try lavender essential oil on your pillow too, that is known to aid sleep.

Ha It just happened to me these past few dayz

I haven't slept yet I can't eat either I feel so sick >_<

and I just lie their and think instead of tryign to sleep instead

than play some music -.-;;

what i do, is i turn on the tv to mtz music video's, and i put the volume all the way down.

Then i play some music, and put it extra soft....

hey, it works for me :)

Ahh, insomnia...

A feeling I know all too well...

 

Me too. Uhm I...

 

Watch tv.

Play my psp.

Listen to music.

Eat.

Sing songs in the dark. Like.. the wheels on the bus. monkeys on the bed.

Read a book.

stay still until i finally fall asleep.

Go to the bathroom and mess around with my hair.

Write poetry.

Go sit on the roof my of 30 story building.

Walk around.

have rough vigerous sex which last for 2 hours...if not..buy that baby bath sleep aig thingy with laverder and vanilla extract. that helps or you can drink lavender herbal tea or you can go for a run. or get high.........

My 'happy pills' now take care of my insomnia probs, but prior to that I used to read before bed, because the need to stay awake to finish whatever I was reading would eventually be overcome. It often works - by literally trying to stay awake I often fall asleep - can't explain the logic. Maybe there is none.

 

I think insomnia has a lot in common with the 'theory' behind nightmares. It's said that dreams are the mind's way of processing the day's events - and nightmares are often a direct result of issues unresolved during the waking hours. So arguably insomnia could also be caused, in part, by issues that you haven't yet dealt with or is to come. Maybe mental discipline is needed - to try and come up with plans of action on how to deal with things that are keeping you awake then telling yourself to let it go and deal with it tomorrow. Sometimes that works for me. Much of the time I just turn on my laptop and write or read til my eyelids are too heavy to keep open. Music doesn't work cause I'll just keep singing to it or learn the lyrics while I lay there. I'll even watch Creflo A Dollar Jr on TV (a TV evangalist) if I get bored enough... damn... nothing a few drinks wont fix... 0_0

always happens to me in stressful periods, but in the holidays I sleep till like 12 noon. I guess catching up on it :s

I usually just listen to some quiet music and just lay there untill I fall asleep. If not, then I go on the computer, or fart around with my hair.

I used to listen to music everytime I couldn't sleep, but after a while it kinda stopped working. So now I have the TV on, maybe I'm not even watching, seeing as sometimes I actually have a easier time falling asleep when the TV's on, than when my room is quiet and dark

umm that problem doesnt come to me a lot, but when it comes... it just sucks! Because i dont have control of something, and cant do anything 'bout it! Damn.... but milk helps a bit... :)

I just think about stuff & use my imagination. Anything that is bothering me or stuff like that is what I usually think about. If I can't focus then I use my imagination.

 

If not I'll take out my cell phone & play tetres or even call someone who I know is up late as well & just talk to them for.... ever or until we both fall asleep.

When my time comes, forget what the wrong that I've done

Help me leave behind reasons to be missed

Don't resent me and when you're feeling empty

Keep me in your memory

Same with me. I usually just think about whatever problems I'm having in life. It usually doesn't help, nothing does when I can't sleep. I just eventually do.

I hate that. Its too hot. the fan is squeeking. I have to go pee, but Im too comfy to get up. Im anxious. I'm worried. I'm hyped up on caffeine.

Yeah, I just... you know, talk to myself. Sad, I know, but it's fun in a dorky only-i-will-ever-hear-this-drabble kind of way. Or I just think until my brain falls alseep. Sometimes other tiring activities, until I'm tired. One time, I ran up and down the stairs half a dozen times.

When i cant sleep it's always either becos i'm sad about something, or i've got something in my mind, and i cannot GET IT OUT....

 

Not being able to sleep is the worst thing ever. at least for me.
