Dell is the best bang for your buck? When looking for laptops, I found that to be often NOT the case. You can go to smaller companies who have MUCH better reputations that can build you something cheaper and better then the large companies, but building your own computer is the cheapest and best option.

Well I have a PACKARD BELL with 20 GB HDD, 265 MB RAM, 16 MB video (shared) and a DVD/CDRW combo. It's 4 years old or so.

It works great, but the 20 GB HDD is little space to store all your data in, the 16 MB video card isn't that great, but I don't often game on my pc accept for UNREAL TOURNAMENT.

I don't need customer support, I just call my dad, lol. He fixes computers as a job, so if I ever need something fixed on mine, I jus go to him.

 

My computer is a Dell Windows XP and that's all I know... but I'm hoping to customize a laptop before I go off to college in a few years that'll have a bigger harddrive so I can put more games and stuff on it. This one here sucks.

hell yeah, linux fucking owns. the only reason i don't use it is cause photoshop doesn't run on it (or so it seems, maybe there is some way...), and GIMP just isn't the same. otherwise, i would be using it.

 

as for my computer, i don't know much about it other than that it's got both Windows XP and some version of Linux on it (family computer, my dad's obsessed with linux). other than that, i don't know much at all. >.<

I have waaay too much money I need to spend. New proc, mobo, video card, sound card, RAM.. I only need another hard drive and then I'll have a whole extra rig.. I still have an old case sitting around with a power supply in it.

damn i bet half of it is really porn though....my friend got like 100 or 150GB (can't remeber) hard drvie for a second hard drive and told me it was for his porn and about 2 mounths later he got a really bad virus....connection?....

It's not extremely high-powered, but it handles most of the modern games. I like it.
