Actually Darwin himself said that anyone could disprove his theory...because he had a missing link and a person could provide evidence and disprove it...its in his book...but the Bible is all fact....and has evidence to back it up...like the great flood...and written records...of things happening...besides the Bible itself.

The Bible is not 100% fact. No one can prove that the miracles Jesus performed actually happened. Some events are the same. But the Bible got a lot of things and times wrong. For instance, the Jews living in Egypt were in exile a few hundred years less than the Bible said they were. That is historical fact.

Faith is believing when there is an absence of truth or proof. As long as Christianity keeps enforcing it's overall good will and morals, I don't have a problem with that... unless of course the churches are encouraging their followers to become corrupt politicians using religion as a means of authority. But that's a whole 'nother can of worms.

The great flood for example has not been proven to have happened. It's been proven that there was a great flood in the area around the Black Sea I think it was... Some people believe that inspired stories about the great flood...I dunno

anglician is one id like to try...the priests in our church stand on their pulpit thingy and preach about how we're all going to go to hell because of sins...and they wont talk about the sins priests have done (eg child molestation)

the roman catholic church is all about greed and power

 

they say 'give money to charity' go into the vatican and they have riches beyond anyones wildest dream....why dont they sell a painting and feed a couple of thousand people...set and example...grr

Question.. can you practice Christianity without the initial teachings of the church? Because it seems to me the people interpreting the Bible are the problem, not the religion itself (unless you refuse to believe in something that isn't proved).

 

I also think it's wrong to ask for charity. To pass a damn collection plate asking for money. My temple has never asked or suggested people to give money to them but they have donation box in case you feel as if they deserved it and that they have affected your life in a positive manner. And they have enough money to keep the place running for years and to provide boarding for seasonal visitors.

It seems a little more possible if you take into account that the known world must've been about that big, and in that area. And also, with the 'two animals' thing, Well, they hadn't microevolved yet, so there weren't as many types of bears then as there are now, etc. etc.

i guess in some respects yoo could..i dont think yoo need to go to mass to be a christian...

but if yoo attend mass then yes...their sermons etc are all based on the bible and the bibles teachings

As long as you have faith in God and repent of your sins you will go to heaven...but its not a once saved always saved. I go to a first Assembly of God church..which is primarily Penecostal without the long hair no make-up deal, and our belief is that you have to constantly confess your sins.And djwakka, I am sorry that I put all those dots.Thats just how I type. I tried not to do it as much as possible in this one. You did make a good point though...for that I give you props.

Ok, so we are getting tired of talking about Christianity. So let me make this quick so I can diss scientology.

 

We catagorize our faith(Wakka) becuase it's easier that way. It's like saying are you liberal or conservative...you may have one or two conservative veiws but in general you are a liberal. Same thing I was raised Roman Catholic, I practice my faith through them and If someone asks me what religion I am that's what I say. I don't say well I have bits and peices of catholicism, baptist, muslim ect. Sure something the Catholic faith preaches I don't agree with I mean hell honestly I think it's kind of dumb that people cannot have premarital sex, wear a condom, or masturbate but that does not revoke my classifacation of Catholic. The thing is...I was raised in the south. And it's true half the people there are far from geniouses. But then again they are also the racsist/predjudice ones who live in the past. When I say southern people are racsist I don't just mean white people either so I mean. The people are racsist, there are really much buisness places around there more farms, factories, grocery stores, ect. Chances are their parents were not very educated so they didn't encourage their children to do great and so it kind of spreaded like a wild life disease.
