FireHawk Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 Thanks dude. About Guitar Rig... I'd say you need a pretty nice sound card. I mean, I've only got onboard sound (I don't even have a soundcard) and it works okay. Just downlaod ASIO4all driver and there will be no delay. But it's a pretty hard program. It tooks me weeks to find a tone that was decent. Then I just kept trying new stuff and setting and now I really like my tone. If you buy the program, a sound card doesn't matter because it comes with Rig Kontrol 2 (a huge pedal which you plug your guitar into, and plug the pedal into the comp) and it acts as one... but if you download it, then you should get the ASIO4all driver. Alright man thanks Quote Please when you see spam just click the http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/4b273718b96672a5cde873c5a972756e.gif graphic and type "Spam" into the text box then click report. FireHawk Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 So how do you get a Line-in cable? Line-in cable is the cable that goes into your instruments (guitar/bass/keyboard) If you wanna record there is a cheap way: Instrument->Instrument Cable (Line-in cable) -> Line-in on soundcard in computer and run a recording program (Goldwave is cheapest) If you wanna do it a good way: Instrument -> Instrument Cable -> floorboard like device (POD XT, Guitar Rig 2) -> Instrument Cable ->Recording Soundcard -> An expensive program or program designated for instrument you are recorded 2 Other very common and good ways if you do them right: 1) Instrument -> Instrument Cable -> Amp -> Condenser Microphone -> Recording Soundcard-> An expensive program or program designated for instrument you are recorded 2) Instrument -> Instrument Cable -> Amp -> Amp Line Out (Another Instrument Cable for this) -> Recording sound card-> An expensive program or program designated for instrument you are recorded --- The first is defiantly lowest quality and doesn't sound near as good of course those are just a few ways for an electric instrument (Electric guitar/bass/keyboard) Quote Please when you see spam just click the http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/4b273718b96672a5cde873c5a972756e.gif graphic and type "Spam" into the text box then click report. Stllmn8j Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Yep,the first option is exactly what i said lol Quote
Friðbjörn Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 ahh sorry lol but I don't see how that cable can connect into the computer...at least mine Quote [broken External Image]:http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/2784/lpfas08mostintelligentym8.jpg
FireHawk Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 You need a 1/4" female to 1/8" male stereo adapter. That you can buy at your local electronics store. If you are using the stock sound card in your computer. You will lose some sound quality doing this compared to buying an after market sound card that has 1/4" instrument cable inputs. Here is an example. FireHawk Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 stock soundcard = what your speakers are plugged into there should be to other little ports that you can plug stuff into. One is input one is output. Find the input and stick a mic in it. now you know everything involved in the easy way Quote Please when you see spam just click the http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/4b273718b96672a5cde873c5a972756e.gif graphic and type "Spam" into the text box then click report.
