I have made atleast 2 of these before, and even had my own online journal site, but yeah, I guess it all comes down to this:

I just need somewhere to vent, I actually expect noone to read, but just the same, please honor me with a reply if you do read anything I choose to post, don't be rude. Even though I would greatly appreciate millions of comments and all that, it is not a neccessity, I am writing for the sole purpose of to vent, well, and to just write when I'm bored.

Be prepared to be bored by my random rants and useless stories.

Well, I run cross country for my high school, last year we were ranked 14th in the state and 2nd in the county, beat only by the #1 finiher in the sate. We also run in the most competive section in the entire united states(CIF Couthern Section), which makes it alot harder to achieve well, yet we manage. High School Cross COuntry is a 3 mile race, the most notorious course in the world for High Shcool Cross Country is Mt. Sac. My Mt. Sac PR(personal record) is 23:10, horrible. This year my goal is 18:30, still not great, but I will do it most definitly. My mile PR only 2 and a half months ago was 6:09, we did a mile time trial 2 weeks ago, and I got 6:45, which is a good ratio. We have a 1.5 mile time trial next week, I am going to do a 9 flat, which is the equivilant of a 5:50 mile time, 5 seconds faster than my goal last track season.

I will do it, I set my goals high, and I am going to be doing morning runs and try as hard as I can to get that goal, a 55 second improvement in 3 weeks.

Good luck with your running, although that seems like quite a big improvement in just three weeks. I'm sure you'll achieve your goal, though :)

It is, and a 9 is pretty good, something most of my times aren't, so I really need to do it, I am actually waking up at 5:30 tommorrow to go running, and have mapped out the best possible runs around me and figured out the exact milage of all of them and know which time over the next 4 weeks i will be running them all.

I plan to improve so much over last year, I want my 3 mile time to go from 23:10 to 18:30, my 2 mile to to go from 15:10 to 11 flat, and my mile time to go from 6:09 to 4:50(a really good time). I have my goals set high, and I WILL achieve them.

And thanks for the luck.

THanks, I like beeing orgranized, because otherwise when it comes time to do what I want to, unless I have a plan alot of times I'll just choke up, so knowing exactly what I'm going to do somewhat prevents that.

ANd yeah, I'm not usually up this early(7 hours later usually), but I'm gettin ready for my run, and am probabaly going to wake up this early for the next month or so.

ANd thanks everyone for there comments, im off to go run.

Lmao' date=' weighting lifts?[/quote']

Yeah something like that I have 2 dumb-bells which weigh 4 KG each. And I use them to excersice, too get more muscular. I work my butt off since october last year. I have to say you have to be disciplined to do this, because getting muscles takes a while. I think about 5 years of so I can get real results if go on like this by training every day.

So, this morning we had a run at 7, well I woke up at 7:05, slept through my alarm. SO, I'm going on a run later tonight.

ANd then tommorrow morning I'm waking up at 5:30, running from my dads house(parents are divorced) to jose's house(2 or so miles), to the gym, back to Jose's house, then to my moms house. THats a 5 or 6 mile run.

Coach says for morning runs and sunday runs to run 15 minutes, but I say if I'm gonna wake up wayyyy before I would otherwise, I'm going to do something productive with my time.

  7. 4:00 Practice
  8. 6:15 Get Home

It really makes me mad that the people that are expected to give their all, alot of the times don't, and yet they are the ones noticed, not the ones running over 5 minutes slower than them, yet still managing to give it their all. Even though some coaches say they pay equal attention to every single athlete, regardless of speed, that is not true. I agree that it is easiest to give your attention to the fast ones, as they seem the most eserving, but what about th ones that really need the help, the ones wwho don't have the god-given talent, that need the training to give them any hope. THere are so many people that deserve varsity more than many of the varsity runners, yet will never get it, because they were not born witht the same talent, yet they try so much harder than many better than them, who would kill for an excuse to be lazier, when the others would kill to switch talents and would do so in a second.

My question here is: Who deserves the coahcing, the slow ones who give it their all, or the fast ones who really couldn't give a damn? Kinda easy when you put it that way, huh?

Posted

Hmmm...well...yeah, this can be really unfair...but...I think that coaches just don't want to risk at training slower athletes cuz they don't know if it's gonna pay off...cuz in the end, if slower ones won't get faster, then it's all just a waste of time. Idk...of course it's not fair but...that's how it is, I guess...unfortunately...

As for the talented ones who don't work so hard...well, they realise that they actually can afford to be lazy since the speed has been given to them...of course working hard wouldn't harm them but...these kind of kids are just the lazy ones...maybe they even don't want to run or anything...they just have to since they can...that's what I think, though... That's why coaches want to motivate them or whatever, Idk...

Of course not that talented ones need coaching...if they can get it...

I know, the slow ones arent gonna be the ones winning the meets, but if your gonna say that you pay equal attention to everyone, you should sure as hell do it.

And you know, whenever I ask coach what I should run on an off day, he tells em some lazy run, and I always do more, like today eh told me to do like 3 or 4 miles, i did 15, hardest run ive ever done.
