FTboy18 Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Or they might turn out to be like U2's run. They've been around almost 30 years and their just as good now as they were back then. X...Re-Arranged...X Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 I think it's a possibility that this is their last CD together. Cyro Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 I think they'll be around more than three years. I mean cmon... they've gone almost four years without making an album... and yet they still have tons of fans everywhere. Thier genre isn't dying, its just liked by a very large group of fans. They are the only nu-metal (if you wanna call it that) band to survive this long. All of thier fans won't vanish in three years. And even if LP's album is certified only gold, Warner still won't drop them as long as thier album doesn't6 have horrible sales. Judging by the trend of things however, this album may be Multi-Platinum again anyway, lol. The Flashing Fish Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Part of the reason why they're losing fans, is because they haven't released an album in about 3 years, and before that, they didn't release an album for 3 years (asides from Reanimation). I think if they can make more albums, then they'll be fine. People get bored, and if you don't stay in the spot light, you get forgotten. Quote

They are the only nu-metal (if you wanna call it that) band to survive this long.[/b'] You kinda contradicted yourself my friend. You also forgot Nu-Metal is most hated genre of music in a long time. Even people who like rock music and hate rap would rather hear rap than nu-metal. If you don't belive me go to Ultimate Guitar Forums and read some stuff then tell me different. o0SugaxNxSpice0o Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 Harsh. It does seem that many people seem to hate "Nu-metal" as I've heard it soo =S I sure hope it's for WAY more than 3 years, but you never know with bands. Could end next year, next decade *shrugs* I just hope I can experiance at least 1 or 2 of their live shows and savour those moments forever They are a highly repected band though, so I think that even old fans will want to hear what they've been up to for the past couple of years >.> Quote [broken External Image]:http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/9765/newsig2qs.gif It's Jen!!!
acdcrules04 Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 Hmmm... That's a toughy. I'm going to go with the crowd here and say 1 or 2 more albums. I hope I get to see them at least once before they disband. Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/bb2dcf01aaef6417df375864d8457158.gif myspace|peta2
HaziLPTonz Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 i think album wise, i reckon 2-3 studio produced albums(hopefully it doesnt take around 3 years for each =P), with a few little side albums, i think they wood jus bcom a touring band after they decide to quit the producing. touring for a few years, have a farewell tour, then part ways. i think most of em wood probably sit back and relax, but a few like hahn/shinoda will go on and do other things. you hafta realise, the fanbase only dwindles inbetween albums, but then around a month before a new albums released, the old fans come flocking back, i myself have been at the yellowcard forums alot. its about trying not to listen to LP to the point where u get sick of it. fans will come back the minute that 3rd album hits the stores, believe you me Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/ddd296f8f90eca79dbafae096b6d28b3.jpg
i_love_matt Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 im not sure, but at the rate it has taken to get this album out. a lot of people i have talked to are either angry that they havent released anything for a long time and havent yet released this one, or just dont listen to them anymore, after teaming up with Jay-z i think they lost a lot of fans. i hate the collision corse album personally. so i think they will probaly be around for a few more years before they loose too many more fans, if this is even making sence to anyone... Ashwin Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 I think it's good for LINKIN PARK to have a gap between each album for 3 years or so, maybe longer. Because it's hard to get inspiration and come up with good songs that have great samples, lyrics and so on. So if they are doing it this way, they could last long. Quote
M Joel Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 lol please no more arguements. dude though Qwerty is the same style as HT. It's nu-metal. HT was the greatest shit ever, I freaking love it. However, Qwerty sucks compared to songs like Papercut, A Place for My Head, Runaway and Pushing Me Away. I dissagree. The new song is leaps ahead of anything they've done before. If they keep going in that direction, they should be okay. and to all of you who want them to stay the way they used to be: They grew up. They aren't gonna sing the same stuff forever, let them grow, because the way they used to be is a little genre called nu-metal, and except for some above par bands from that time (disturbed, mudvayne), the genre is dead, and if LP stays within that, they will die even sooner than they already will. HaziLPTonz Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 theyre already the greatest selling band of the new millenium. i DOUBT theyre dying. i think personally, qwerty seems quite different, it had the hardness of HT, the meaning of meteora put together. its kind of a fuse, however, as mike has sed so many times, the style LP hav for this album is very different to HT and Meteora, and HE wood know the best having written the matierial. lets not judge the style of a certain track,(qwerty is still being worked on as well, its NOT the finished product) or style LP are in, until they RELEASE their new album, then we can decide Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/ddd296f8f90eca79dbafae096b6d28b3.jpg
damned666 Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 they'll stay for long cause they combine many musikgenres(rap, rock, nu-metel...) Quote [broken External Image]:http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/9674/damnedsigzu6ex3.jpg
FireHawk Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 yes but many people hate rap and nu-metal/rap-metal/any other name for rap and rock combined Quote Please when you see spam just click the http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/4b273718b96672a5cde873c5a972756e.gif graphic and type "Spam" into the text box then click report.
