I know there's been like 3-4 topics like this already, so I just made another.

 

What do you guys all think about religion, do you believe in a God, do you go to church, etc?

 

I'll post what I think on down a little ways

Religion is a tricky thing and a very touchy thing....I belive it because so many before have and it woudn't last this long if it was a lie...

Yeah I would have to agree with that cause

before I didn't believe, their was somthin tellin me to believe,

and I guess at the same time I believe. but not sure bout it....

I would go to church and everyhting but I'm just not sure if I want to..

there is no sense in debating it. you're not going to convert anybody for or against it. i know there is no heated debate or arguing yet, but if it goes like the other identical religion threads, it should start any second.

I've tried to really hard, but I can't will myself to believe... and I really want to. That's once reason I don't believe, is because... if I can't will myself to believe, wouldn't God help me to believe? It's all so fucked up for me. >_<

no offense buddy, but from what I've seen on here, you don't follow the whole lifestyle.

 

But yeah, I beleive in God and am also a Christian.

Yawwwwwwn. You should've changed the topic question a little bit. It's exactly the same as the others. Maybe something like, Do you believe in the religion, or lack of one, that you were born into?

i dont believe in the god we are led to believe in the christian faith is all powerful like he is made out to be. I do think that he is more like us as far as faults and everything because we were supposedly made in his image. i just dont like it when my parents force me to church.

Honey, atheists have beliefs. Not much but we do. Usually Darwin's theroy or the Big Bang. We believe in individuality and humanism and that man makes his own destiny. Nihilists don't have any beliefs to think of really. Nihilism says that nothing in the world, especially human existance, is without purpose. Nilhilism is equal to nothingness. though, if you think about it, it's nonsensical to not have any beliefs. I'm an athiest. I don't believe in any gods. if this deity does exist, then why that name? what about siddhartha (aka buddha)? I have a problem saying the "g" word as I think it's unbefitting because of those questions among others. But I do have beliefs, the ones noted above plus I also believe in morality. I'm also a libertarian. so I personally have the creed: "live & let live". & i'm going to live life to it's fullest because it's the only one I got. I do not accept Jesus, Buddha, the Pope, or anyone else but me as my "savior." Do I believe there was ever a historical figure named Jesus Christ? To that specific question I am agnostic. Do I believe Jesus performed supernatural "miracles" like healing by touch? Not in the least. The Bible? To me I believe (oh there's that word again!) it's just a book of virture for the people it was told through word of mouth to be fearful to an extent & be moral. after thousands of years of passing these stories from word of mouth it's bound to get messed up along the way. And let's not forget this was also a time that people thought the world was flat. and i am a moral person. How you make your moral choices is not important, but the fact that you make them at all is. and I just realized how much I am ranting. So I'm just going to leave it with a libertain belief: everyone should be free to do as they choose, so long as they don't infringe upon the equal freedom of others.
