linkinpark-1 Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Okay' date=' cos Im sick of people bagging out goths.[/quote'] You seemed to jump to the conclusion that he was bagging on goths rather fast. It seems like you're just expecting people to diss goths. Isn't that what being gothic is? You put yourself out there in that manor to attract peoples attention, which usually isn't positive attention. By being goth, when you get that negative attention you can just pass it off because "goths don't give a fuck about what people think about them". So in the end you're always just looking for people to pick you out so you can whine about how "stereotypical" everybody is, when you were just asking for that attention in the first place. Don't even tell me I don't know what I'm talking about, because I was a goth like 2 years ago...I know what it's like. Once I learned that I was being more stereotypical then other people, I grew out of that phase and moved on. You will too someday, you just have to realize that being 'goth' isn't expressing your feelings anymore then being a 'prep'. 1 Quote [broken External Image]:http://img65.imageshack.us/img65/2024/jjsigcopysh3.jpg [broken External Image]:http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/2696/21fv1.jpg http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/0e95bf2e43a7435da74db1da86fac0d9.png MySpace! Stenners Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Totally agree with Jenessa, goths do bring attention to themselves and esp. dont like bad attention, every clique gets bad attention but Goths and Emo's always seem to feel victimised when other groups i.e. Chavs and Townies get way worse amounts at least in this country but they dont seem to care. Guess its all down to the type of people in these cliques at the end of the day and not the actual clique. I also have to spread reppage Quote Delete my account, the is no reason why it should be against standard procediure, do it do it do it. Greyfoxx Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 i think i MIGHT have been on there like a LONGGGG Time ago Edit: MATT!!! How do we bring attention to ourselves?! We just dress and act how we want, and we dont ask to be apart of the "in" crowd, we just be us....but i guess that's frowned upon...to be yourself. Being Goth isn't what most people think it is....god i hate people always thinking goths want the attention... Some people, (like me) don't TRY to be goth, people just classify us as "Those gothic chicks" or some shit like that. Some just feel more comfortable wearing black ect ect ect. Society today won't let people just be themselves....they always want to group people up so they don't have to deal with peoples' individuality. It drives me nuts to be put in groups like Goth, Emo, Punk, Preps, Jocks, Nerds, ect ect ect. the list is endless and honestly i think this all needs to end.... *sorry for blowing up* 1 Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/597b7053e7f6b9db3d3e47081db54c76.jpg youre so freaking gothic fox' date=' just wait till you meet the emo me. youre like redheaded vampira or something[/quote'] http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/aac84d56c4349b6631041cd70d25f813.gif

Stenners Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 ^^ South Park took the piss out of that to a tee with the dance episode On another note catergories of people help us identify people otherwise we would have to describe them to death. Instead of saying 'o hes very Indie' u will have to say 'He wears grey coats, red jeans and has curly hair he is very in that indie roc no floppy hair and the clothing is never dark so hes not like the kind of kids that are like a darke verion'' or 'She wears black, lots of make up to look pale u know' why waste a mouthfall when u can some them up in a group that resembles this things closest i.e. 'Emo' 'Indie' 'Goth' Where as u could sum up the first sentance 'Indie not Emo' Quote Delete my account, the is no reason why it should be against standard procediure, do it do it do it. Greyfoxx Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I just think it's a little ironic that all of the "individualists" dress the same... no, people dress how they want then other people Group them together...I dont try to be goth, but according to about 95% of the school says i am....so how is that? do me and my friends try to dress goth? no. we just wear what we like and what we feel comfortable in.... You're just trying to make sense out of nonsense. And for the record, I wasn't trying to lash out on any "group". If people are grouping other people together then they'll see you as all the same. That guy in Montreal and the couple in Alberta, unfortuanately, are just giving goths a bad name. Quote

Rusu_luvs_LP_4ever Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Nothing is individual anymore, because no matter what, somone will conform to that trend/behaviour/idea/etc. Goths wear what they wear to identify with their group, nothing more then that. And thats the same with any group...so I don't really think it's intended to get attention from others, it's social influence. Quote HAHAHA i love you ruth!
