*crossing my fingers* Hopefully this isn't too long... I hafta post it now cuz i don't have time tomorrow... Saturday too! What cruel setup life has for me... Anyways, here's my essay

From Snow to Slush

There’s something about the snow that just makes me fall head to heel in love with it. It’s those tiny sparkling ice sculptures that would fall from the sky. I love its pure whiteness and how it glimmers under the sun. I love its beautiful dance and how it brings the holiday feeling to everyone. Most of all, I loved the fact that it brought winter and how it waved to you “We ain’t gonna leave till Spring comes! Can you believe that?”

Luckily, up here in Canada, it snows every year for a very long time. As soon as it reaches mid-October, I would glance at the window every once in a while, hoping to see those elegant water crystals falling from the sky. The way they prance in the wind and lingers in the air for awhile, as if teasing me, then gently lying into the crib of my hands, brings absolute peace to my mind. My eyes are drawn to its naturally formed pattern before it melts into a petite puddle of water. While to others, the harsh wind carrying tiny ice particles blowing at your face could be hurtful and annoying, it brings me a moment of absence—an absence of sounds, colors, images, and ideas—as if I’m the only one standing in this world.

Despite my love for snow, I absolutely detest what they turn into in spring—slush. It’s those nasty, deformed watery-ice (since it would be a disgrace to call them watery-snow) that is often grayish brownish in color due to too many people stepping in it. I hated how they would get into my boots when I was young and taint my socks a horrid looking color. I hated how you are no longer able to play with them—because slushmans don’t stand as long as snowmans, and slushball fight…let’s just say that it doesn’t work. But most of all, I hated how it forms a disgusting face that snickered “Ha ha!! You gotta wait 9 more months till snow comes back!”

And unfortunately, here in Canada, slush sticks around for a very long period of time before they eventually melt into the soil.

And that’s when you get mud. Those even more awful things that sink in when you place your foot on it…

But you don’t want me to go on about that now do you?

*looks for Esaul* C'mon man' date=' you can't just let me win like this....[/quote']

Lost power on the final stretch, I had no way of recovering my essay or coming remotely close to posting it. Damn it all. Well good job!
