littleblackstone Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Well... I think that the scars and wounds they talk about are inner wounds, like emotional wounds in your mind made by some tragic happening on your life... not wounds made by a knife, for example... It's just my point of view... And their music helps me A LOT when I'm down... Quote
UnknownOrigin Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 I find that fort minor and linkin park are the best way to get rid of a depressed soul...Fort Minor song Where'd You Go is a good one, Linkin Park song Numb is also a good song to get rid of depression and any thoughts of self harm... just one person opinion Quote
Breakdown Conspiracy Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 well, its kinda sad to me for you guys to say that, but its not like im gonna hold it against you. im glad no one thinks im totally out of my mind. thats something i guess. it would be encouraging if there was anyone out there who agrees with me. if you agree, speak up! God is not someone who you go and sing about every sunday, that is what relligion has unfourtunatly done. Of course singing songs and going to church is good to remeber that jesus died for us, but chrisitanity has been distorted passed belief. God wants to live in us and to be our breath and life. I really feel sorry for people who dont beleive, because its good when your feeling down to be filled with a quiet calm of his presence. I am a chrisitian, but i dont beleive in demoninations, because they all distort god enternal purpose. but I could og on all day about this kinda stuff so ill stop. And man, dont cut your wrists. When you get pissed off go play some music, or draw or make music, thats what i do. and sometimes, if you can, pray. Quote .no
Breakdown Conspiracy Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Hi! I also think listening to music helps! Especially LINKIN PARK!!! But I have the feeling, might as well be wrong, they often sing about self-injury (cutting in particular)... Just some examples: -Well... Foreword? -By Myself - 'And give in to sad thoughts that are maddening? Do I sit here and try to stand it?/... but then/I just end up getting hurt again/By myself' -Crawling - 'Crawling in my skin/These wounds they will not heal There's something inside me that pulls beneath the surface/Consuming/confusing This lack of self-control I fear is never ending' -Somewhere I belong - 'I will never feel anything else, until my wounds are healed I will never be anything till I break away from me/I wanna heal...' -Easier To Run - 'Than face all this pain here all alone ...The secret I've kept locked away no one can ever see Wounds so deep they never show they never go away ...If I could change I would take back the pain I would' -Faint - 'but I can’t help the fact that everyone can see these scars' -Figure.09 (it's a part of me, anyway) -Breaking The Habit - 'Like opening the wound'(I know it's a metaphor, but the video...?) -Numb (the girl from the video ?) -Part Of Me - 'the routine scar/New cuts cover where the old ones are...Cut myself free willingly Stop just what’s killing me' The way I feel it... Any ideas? FM n LP arnt bout self-inflictation. They are about quality music. But their themes are about human emotion. Quote .no
eleonor Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 No doubt LP are singing about human emotions and they ARE making some quality musik. It's true, they are 'an angsty band' (LP~Shinoda~FM) and everyone can find whatever meaning they are looking for. I like them because 'I take everything from the inside', I feel that everything hurts and whatever they sing - I'm singing with them... It's all about pain... inner or externalised... I'm not saying pain is all they are singing about, it's definitely wrong. Pain is what I find in their lyrics. Listening to their music is just another way for me (different from cutting) to externalise the inner pain I feel... Sorry for the long post. Just wanted to make it clear... P.S. I wouldn't call it 'self-inflictation' by the way... 'Self-injury' is O.K. Quote SI
