Black_Angel Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 I'm not as scared as I thought I'd be by your playlist, Toxic, it's actually kinda alright. It's ambient, atmospheric like, it's a nice change from most of the stuff I listen to, though I can't see myself listening to anything like that full time. The only band I'd heard anything from were Radiohead, though I wasn't very impressed with the song on the playlist, I tend to prefer catchy songs with vocals generally. I don't reckon my music taste is mature enough for this sorta thing haha. Quote i still love you, girl from mars.
Jeezy Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 After quite a while I finally have my playlist up just giving you the song titles 1. Better Together 2. Jesus Walks 3. What You Know 4. DOA 5. Get By 6. The adventure 7. Andy, You're A Star 8. The Grass Is Green 9. I Miss You 10. Umbrella remix 11. Cry Me A River 12. Drive 13. Heart Of The City 14. The Answer this is probably the most mainstream list on here....but oh well...that's just how I am... and well Drive is from 99...but it had to be in there here's the link http://www.zshare.net/download/226850399ef690/ Quote

I haven't listened to all tracks yet but I think I'll like it a wee bit more than Alison here, cause I'm a fan of instrumental music After quite a while I finally have my playlist up just giving you the song titles 1. Toxic I feel the need to take some serious drugs to fully appriciate urs, Fri I have urs but still yet to listen so basically. Toxic - next time im stoned i will give it a listen (i have some now dont worry) Jeezy - urs i will review shortly Fri - I have nothing planned tonight Poooooooooooooorly tagged my friend Jeezy =) please list all the artists as well =D Quote Delete my account, the is no reason why it should be against standard procediure, do it do it do it. Stenners Posted June 14, 2007 Author Posted June 14, 2007 01 - Better Together - 6/10 02 - Jesus Walks -8/10 03 - What You Know - 8/10 04 - D.O.A - 6.5/10 05 - Get By - 7/10 06 - The Adventure - 3/10 07 - Andy, You're A Star - 5/10 08 - The Grass Is Green - 4/10 09 - I Miss You - 4/10 10 - Umbrella/Cinderella - 3/10 (I reallllllllly hate the way she says umbrella) 11 - Cry Me A River - 7/10 12 - Drive - 5.5/10 13 - Heart Of The City - 6.5/10 14 - The Awnser - 5.5/10 Overall song score: 5.64/10 Most of the songs are over produced, simple structured and have little emotion to them & feel cold. Mixtape quality: The is a subtle amount of variety, many of the choices seem a bit random, the transfer from accousting & guitar rock to urban most of the time doesn't work. When the urban tracks go back to back it seems a bit dull the is no real momentum or build up. The is no real structure to the playlist n feels simply like a collection of songs. However the volume levels seem perfect and the are moments (Get By to The Adventure) where it looks as though the has been thought put into it. 3/10 Overall mixtape score: 4.33/10 Quote Delete my account, the is no reason why it should be against standard procediure, do it do it do it. Then again it comes from one of their two masterpieces. Those being Kid A and OK Computer. Albums so magnificent that ahem *Muse* ahem only wished they could have made. But they've settled and moved on knowing they can't. Sorry, that's just the Head fan in me. LMAO :-/ Anyhow I knew this wouldn't be your cup of tea just by looking at your last FM. I kinda go deep end for the deeper and crazier stuff. I got the creativity bug I guess. Thanks for trying. Quote

Dude is just pissed because nobody payed attention to his Razor Red Noise bs. By the way, the songs don't flow well on yer myspace RRN. Song goes on and off every second like the buffer is too slow. Stenners Posted June 20, 2007 Author Posted June 20, 2007 http://www.nonstuff.com/wp-content/artbrut_nagnagnagnag.jpg Artist: Art Brut Album: It's A Bit Complicated Genre: Indie/Humour These dudes are the indie rock equivelent of Tenascious D, their debut like the D was both hallarious & musically sound, it was a triumphnt success. This, Art Bruts 2nd album show cases the same humour and musical ethics as their acclaimed debut, the result? A slightly weaker version of Bang Bang Rock & Roll. Yes I was & still am a tiny bit dissapointed with this album, the humour is just not as punchy & whitty as the previous albums, the hooks just a shade or 2 weaker then what was show cased on they're debut. Having said that the album is still pretty damned decent, a lil more angular & musically more interesting, the really isnt a weak moment. So what do we have here, a fun album whihc is very good but at the same time utterly dissapointing..... yea it bugs me to I guess I will have to wait to see if it has the same appeal as 'Bang Bang Rock & Roll'. 7/10 Quote Delete my account, the is no reason why it should be against standard procediure, do it do it do it. Friðbjörn Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 new review album: Cruel Melody artist: Black Light Burns genre: alternative rock, industrial rock I've known for quite some time that Wes Borland had far more talent than he was allowed to show on Limp Bizkit. But hearing this solo project of his was quite a surprise. I didn't take him as quite the mastermind he seems to be. He wrote this whole album by himself, and played it almost solely himself. And he's not stuck in the numetal clichés Fred Durst's been swimming in to impress 14 year old kids (with lyrics just that mature). Wes goes into general rock heavily mixed with industrial music, and sometimes with an ambient touch. To be quite honest the only things I'm not delighted with on this album are the lyrics and singing, but I'm not saying they're slack, they're just not as good as the rest. Sometimes the guitar riffs are kinda typical, but overall Wes does fresh things, I think. I don't know whether to consider this mainstream stuff, as in whether it's gonna receive airplay and all that, but I find this substantially better than the stuff I hear on the radio, at least in these genres. I haven't formed an opinion on any standout tracks yet, but this is an overall decent album. Wes does a lot of different things although he stays close to the same home a lot of the time, but the material doesn't get tired. You have both kind of more ambient softer songs like the last two, and the first half to middle section of the album has quite a lot of semi-angst with hard rock. I don't think Wes has that strong of a voice, or that good range, but he's no bad singer. It was rather funny btw to hear him shout Mesopotamia, the way he does it, on the track with that name, lol. And the only thing that got on my nerves was the effect on the lead melody of Iodine sky, the last track. I'm guessing this isn't an album for everyone's taste, but it does fit into mine, lol. And not just that, I feel it's well made. I didn't hear a song that sounded like something the label would've asked for. Rating: 7,8/10.
