LPShinodaFM Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 I'm glad LP took a turn from their songs about the stuff they wrote about before. I liked it, but I guess it could start to get repetitive and be accused of being unoriginal. But that was before, they've really matured. Like Chester said, he was the oldest one, and back then, a lot of things don't seem so important but do now. I'm happy with their new road they've taken. Quote

_deemy_ Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 I thought the video was awesome.. To me it really encapsulates the bands maturity that they have. Like compared to OSC, it's just a completely different style, just like thier new music will be completely different from HT. I especially liked the bit where Chester and Mike and standing together with the camera rotating around then. Fucking awesome. Gave me goosebumps when I first seen it Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/2c0c568daf69e26e0190fdd1817fb7db.jpg life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we should dance

LP Expert Soldier Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 I just watched the video earlier this morning, and IMO I'm pretty amazed and liked it. Way too different from their older vids: no longer concerning personal issues and problems, but instead world issues (as showcased in the video) Quote ** LPF Member Since 2004
GraDoN Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 ya they really are awesome :> well anybody think they know the meaning of the grass going down at the start and growing at the end cause its alot like 'In The End' where the grass/bush plant grow or am i WAY off track? :> Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/095443c5f5914cdd05b1d389456c201e.jpg http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/8df3638f80a4f010e06ef2c959f426e8.gif http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/fe80ab99471398f0ef121d8f90c31038.jpg
Friðbjörn Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 I saw more nature clips than just grass growing at the end I think... don't they just mean that with spring comes something new? signifying the changes in their music, or something it's a thought Quote [broken External Image]:http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/2784/lpfas08mostintelligentym8.jpg
DarknessLover Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 No, it's signifying the Doomsday Clock again! Since it is saying how we are all killing ourselves, and when the plants go away and it all becomes a desert then with the spring, new life comes. That's my thought. Quote The Park is Back? No way!
Dark Collision Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 I like the video. It has a new look and feel to it. The rotating camera is always fun to see in music videos. The only thing Mike says in the song is the "La la la" part, but I understand that rapping wouldn't have fit into the song anyway. The song is alright but I don't think it's better than "Numb" when it comes to Chester-only songs. By the way, I just finished making a new (and animated) signature. Am I the first to use the new music video in a sig so far? Quote [broken External Image]:http://img372.imageshack.us/img372/7739/dcwidsigtk1.gif
LPShinodaFM Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 At the beginning the grass was growing backwards, sending us fastbackwards in time to see what harm we've done in the past and letting us see the world slowly dying. We saw ancient buildings being replaced by high rises and cities. We saw the Nazis and WWII. We saw explosions and wars. We saw natural disasters and famine. Then, the climax of the video and song was after the fall of Hitler's statue and when Chester emphatically lengthens the "What I've Done" with the wind blowing the snow violently off of the tress. Followed by bombs, avalanches, the fall of the Twin Towers with the LP members jumping slow-motion. This showed us that our capability was so great that it could destroy our Earth. It was that we were so powerful that we can't inflict it on anything except ourselves and our Earth. The song once again builds up with Chester's "I start again" and the rose growing. It is recalling with life: mitosis of cell, a baby's movement in the mother's womb, to the birth of the baby, and the baby growing to be able to run. The innocence of a premature life is illustrated. Then, there was the injections, drugs, and the flower wilting, signifying death... of us, and our world. Then flashed by the scenes of oil spills and the most heartbreaking picture in my opinion in this video. A bird was covered in black oil, unable to escape, unable to fly away. It was held down by the oil human kind fought over, and left there until death came to take it away. Then the video showed children. Happy American Children holding flags, and an Iraqi child holding a gun. Chester's final lines of "what i've done" on top of Mike's backup vocals recapped all the horrible things shown previously in the video, ending with a nuclear explosion. Then it returned to the beginning, backwards (or forwards since the beginning was backwards) bringing us to the present, and leaving us with the question: What are you going to do with your world now? 1 Quote
