[US War With Iran?]

Its been a while since a nice political thread has been around on LPF. So...Do you think the United States will start a war with Iran? As many of you know tensions have been high and Iran won't stop uranium enrichment, claiming it is for peaceful reason (mainly providing energy.) US has many ships now south of the border of Iran in the waters. So will the US start an offensive?

I agree there will be a war. The only chance there won't is if the President asks for war and Congress doesn't give it to him. I believe Bush want Iran.

Hmm seeing as I havent been following the news for sometime, I'd say don't know. And I think since the War on Iraq, they will try to have more of a definate reason this time. But that Iranien president is such a weed!

i really dont know. But probably not because congress is democratic and is really against it and they're already bogged down still with Iraq and i dont think the public would support another war. but then again you never know.

I haven't watched to much news, so what's going on in the middle east at the moment is news to me!

It wouldn't suprise me if we went to war. There's already 2 wars, why not shoot for 3?! -_-* It's clear Bush is trying to get us all killed anyways.

 

The news is to depresing anymore to watch. To see a war in Iran, it may completely destroy the US. Either from Iran themselves, or a self destruction of the US by citizes. Anything could happen anymore it seems.

Nuclear iran will be a MAJOR threat to the world (Especially to the middle east; Israel...)

If war is the only solution to make them halt their so called "peaceful" nuclear activities;

Since they're ignoring sanctions/prohibiting inspections

then yeah US will go on war with IRAN.

 

Even though i'm not into politics; this is an interesting case to follow.

As it can affect the whole world.

PS: Firehawk, I think you should have add add one more option to the poll; Depends if they cooperate or not.

Meaning, Halting their nuclear activities voluntarily (which will not be the case) - just my thought

1) I agree with what your saying Iran is a threat there are aggressive. Not saying the US is not aggressive. The difference is the US is trying to protects its on people. Iran is full of extremeist that want to destroy the US and Israel.

first of all I'm not siding with anyone here, nor sayin I trust these guys or what, BUT. what has Iran done that's so aggressive? nobody ever told me that. the states are such hypocrites when it comes to this. number one country to cause violence and disturb peace and overthrow goverments to install dictators = the fuckin states. one of their methods is saying other countries do what they themselves do best.

people should look in the mirror. all I hear is talk about how Iran says their going nuclear to get electricity...while the states have got 437539745843 nuclear warheads on standby.

Well we don't seem to have a fucking crazy dictator running our country,and if we didn't have all the weapons that we do,I'm sure a country would have attacked us by now.

 

Also,I don't belive we have installed dictators in any countries,though we have sided with some in previous wars (The most ironic ally being Saddam Hussain,but as they say,"The enemy of your enemy is your friend").

 

P.S. I belive we are a lot safer with thousands of warheads than a government of Islamic extremists who chant death to America and Isreal is with one
