True, but two days is too long for me!! THE SUSPENSE!!!

I like to take my time. (aka, torture you all!!!)

 

But yes, I was going to wait until tomorrow, but I have a feeling I'll forget.

So here it is.

I tried doing something a little different. It follows a sort of stream of consciousness pattern but I still tried to tie each stanza together to make it flow. I don't want to overcomplicate it, lest I make it worse. It's maybe not the most coherent and logical poem, but I like it that way. Hope you like.

 

Too Fast

 

 

Revel in me slowly slowly

a fast glimpse will never do justice

as justice is a blind eagle

than what will it do?

 

Try staring into the dark for a while

you start seeing things.

so what gift does light really give?

 

Turn me over on a skewer

as so the juices marinate within me

heated and recycled,heated and recycled.

The blood flows, but Am I Alive?

 

The heart pumps blood to me slowly slowly

so slow that I miss it and the tunnel becomes

so why do my eyes close?

 

The flashlight flickers slowly slowly

coaxing me into security

unalarmed and undead

I carry weight that is not mine

Is it you I live for?

 

"Yes" you speak, slowly slowly

and it resonates in the flesh

and vibrates in the ears

and shoots through the veins

so why does it feel so pleasing to say no?

midsummer night is truly a dream

god's put his goods on display it seems

as the sun sets down the clouds turn red

and something just pulls you from going to bed

 

and those clouds hover above in their colors and shapes

for one or two hours, then there's daybreak

and those are good clouds, they don't pour any rain

so the weather only helps you release all your pain

 

outside your window there's this little sunflower

how could something so little have so much power?

the flower makes you think of the change of the times

cause when you were a kid you didn't hear of those crimes

 

the flower's only good, it has food for the flies

but just as summer fades, the flower, it dies
