I realize most of ya'll arent into the whole scene, and to elaborate, I'm(for one of the first times ever), using hardcore as a general description, including(but certainly not limited to(and i realize by specific standards most of these arent real hardcore genres)): Hardcore Punk Death Metal Deathcore Grindcore Deathgrind Goregrind Nintendocore Metalcore Tech Death Post Hardcore Mathcore Moshcore Quote
Stllmn8j Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 early Norma Jean was about all the grindcore I ever listened too Quote
Hybrid Soldier Posted June 12, 2007 Author Posted June 12, 2007 Basically, by hardcore, i mean anything with a scream that you wouldn't call emo or screamo. I realized most people aren't into it, but if anyone wants(which i doubt), ill make up a starter sampler. Quote

Yackiestinger Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Hardcore/metalcore bands are mostly emo in my opinion. There's too much stupid labels so even I can't remember them all, but I can add to these: - Melodic death metal - Brutal death metal - Black metal - Thrash metal - Thrash core metal - Death thrash metal - Tehnical speed thrash - Half thrash/ neo thrash metal - Groove metal - Doom metal etc. there's too many labels Quote [broken External Image]:http://kropla.com/images/croatia_flag.gif Myspace account...yeah, les-be friends :-P

xXMelancholiaXx Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 what about deathgrind? liek Napalm death? anyone like them? I've listened to them before they're brutal. Actually every Grindcore/Deathgrind etc is just completely brutal. As far as "hardcore" goes I listen to just about everything from Metalcore to Grindcore great stuff. Friðbjörn Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 I honestly don't know, but I guess that would be a cross between some form of metal, and math rock. one well known math rock band is Tool. Quote [broken External Image]:http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/2784/lpfas08mostintelligentym8.jpg

I'm not really too sure what Mathcore is either. I remember reading that Mudvayne is or some how close to what it considered Mathcore. I think it has something to do witht he complexity of the drummers drumming style but I'm not sure. Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/419f660d5f873320ab8475e194977ce5.gif

Friðbjörn Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 the definition of math rock that I've heard is that it's about weird and/or changing time signatures. or should I say unorthodox Quote [broken External Image]:http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/2784/lpfas08mostintelligentym8.jpg

Yackiestinger Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 I'm just sick of those labels. There's like thousands of them. This list we made is not even 5% of it. It will be like every band will have their own unique label. Once it was only metal or rock.... azemkamikaze03 Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 wow. um, i listend to about 5 songs from that genre and if anything they are mainstream see if it ends in core its probably shit. cept for some hard core. screaming is not music. at least in rap their flow has some sense of melody/harmony whatever u wanna call it. in (__insert highschool subject__)core it can either be lots of screaming, just really weird sounds or random crap that is supposed to be original but overall sounds bad. Quote ¿whysoserious?
Yackiestinger Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 Sounds bad? So I can say that rap is just poor excuse for "music" for those who can't sing, just recitating some text about cars, bitchez with big boobs, wannabe gangsta wanksta shit?? But I won't say that cuz I'm not narrowminded, and I listen to old school rap which is really cool! Nowadays, rap is dead. Metal is rising. Flow in rap generally sucks major ass. Only a few exceptions. Quote [broken External Image]:http://kropla.com/images/croatia_flag.gif Myspace account...yeah, les-be friends :-P

Only a few exceptions. in my opinion music is music. Even in metal there are people with just the same amount of talent as in rap. Eg: I'd say slayer. Good music or a good band/rapper/artist comes from how they view music and how they appreciate it. Because you cant say much from a rapper who constantly raps about "drugz n biatches" is a good artist, neither can you when a metal band plays three chord and a song screaming "fuck my life! I hate you all go to fucking hell!" So in my view it depends on the appreciation of music. Quote .no
Friðbjörn Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 3 chords and "I hate my life" sounds like Korn lol not metal Quote [broken External Image]:http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/2784/lpfas08mostintelligentym8.jpg
