That was awful, especially just because they had had thier child, ugh!! There were just some many deaths in this book Hedwig Dobby! Fred! Lupin! Tonks! Snape! Pettigrew! Mad Eye! HARRY!(but he comes back obviously) AND BELLATRIX! VOLDEMORT! So many more then I expected and some of them not who I expected at all.. LIke when Mad eye died so early I was like DAMMNNNN!!!

well i thought for the most part it was quite good, the 7th book...i didnt agree with the ending(anyone who read it will know)...it was the shittest ending to probably the best action sequence in hp history!, HP7 as a movie? its gonna be nutso with all the action. but whats the go with the matrix rip off scene near the end? i didnt mind the epilogue so much, seemed fitting didnt it, although other characters that were in the book arent mentioned other than yer...and it wsa a tad confusing relating who to who. overall not a bad book, i ll read it in more depth in a few weeks, hopefully the ending puts a lil more meaning into it, it was a real let down after so much tense detective work,surprises and battles [-spoilers below!]

 

well, its kinda like..WHY DID FRED DIE,HE JUST CRACKED A JOKE AND...BAM!...sad....shattered...tonks and lupin too...i spose it made sense, but even so, it drags on of harrys story where his rents are killed...others i werent tooo surprised, dobby was always going to give up his life for harry, but why stabbed...and hedwig never stood a chance aye...i was thinking of a major schock like hagrid dies...but he didnt,i thought he was a gonner with them spiders attacking....and harry too,but heym it didnt turn out so badly...so going before from before ths poilers, why is it that there is a matrix rip off scne of harry and dumbledore? and whats with the baby creature thing...is it dumbledore? or a representative of voldemort? and why was the FINAL show down between harry and volde such a let down? voldemort basically shot himself....i was hoping itd have come down to a desperate face off, harry wieldin the sword of godric gryf and lunging at voldemort in a last ditched effort to save everyone...only after 10 or so poages of goading and spells firing,wands breaking between the 2...ahhhw wellz

i totally agree with you! i wanted more of a final showdown! like stuff exploding more and like the ceiling of hogwarts falling in! some thing cool like that!! i was also really pissed off that the malfoys didnt hae more to do with it. i wanted lucius to be up there taking down 3 people at a time and maybe bellatrix dying after being gored through my the sword of something! and i also thought it was lame how the house elves from hogworts only like attacked with with there hands i wasnted to see them using more of there house elfy power and make ppl explode or something!

Seriously dude, what the hell is so special about Harry Potter? I used to like that wizard shit when I was in like, 2nd frigging grade when the first book came out! Our teacher used to read it to us. Now, everytime I hear someone talk about it, I wanna jump out of a 13 story building into a pit of broken glass. I don't understand it. There are so many better things that you could waste your time reading! So many better series! But for some reason, it's only this series. When the new book in the Uglies series comes out, there isn't going to be any goddamn party at Border's that runs until 2 A.M.! I want to know, what is so special about this mindless entertainment? When I read it, I see a jumble of words about wizards and killing shit with a wooden stick (A.K.A. wand)! I don't see any secret meanings behidn anything. What good is a book if it doesn't make you think? What good is a book where you're doing the work to get that final sentence, but don't get anything in return? Books like Fahrenheit 451 and A Clockwork Orange aren't just papers bound together to look pretty and to grab hold of any small childs brain. It makes you think. It makes you say: what if? Not, 'This spell is cooler than that one!'. The series containing the volumes Uglies, Pretties, Specials (to make a plausable argument) does indeed have mindless things going on, but it really has you thinking. What would happen if we were all pretty people? Why are we so unhappy with ourselves? Does being pretty really cure all? It makes you wonder. Fahrenheit 451 has you thinking about what would happen in a so called 'perfect world'. And alls Harry frigging Potter has to say is what magical feind will be hunting him down next. Now, I have not read all of the books, so if you as wish to explain things better to me and give me some meaningful quotes, my opinion is open to sway. Thank you and have fun.

anyways, id have loved to see more action,even though this books got the most, id love to hvae known more specifically who went down or who was shooting what, i can so see this being made into a movie, where this action sequence alone is like....half an hour to an hour long!

Better yet, close your eyes. ^_^ If you don't want your friend to tell you the ending, walk away. You have every right to be pissed off, but they have every right to talk about the ending. First of all, I really don't think I deserved that from you, Hazi. Everyone has a right to their opinion. I never said I didn't want to discuss the book, and no, I wasn't trying to start any arguments or have people calling others names that aren't very nice. As I stated, I've already read the book, so I obviously know the ending and all that. I'm the one who created the thread in the first place, so I'm pretty sure I knew what to expect in this thread and that I wanted people to discuss it.

 

I was simply stating that, the night of the release, people were lined up outside waiting for the book, and those guys in the youtube video just drove by shouting out the ending and ruining it for those who were lined up. Now, to me, that isn't discussing the book, that's just being rude and not letting people read and find out what happens themselves. I mean, you can't really avoid hearing it if you don't know someone is going to shout it out and you happen to be in the area. But people can at least have the decency to keep it to themselves or discuss it with people who have already read the book. That's what I was referring to in my last post, those guys on youtube.

Yeah, we're even. I guess could've been a little more clear. I though that since my post was 2 above the video that it was clear, that's my bad. Anyways, let's scrap that then, shall we?

 

Personally, I loved the book. I can't believe that so many characters, main or not, died though. I mean, In a sense I can, but to me I don't think children would be too keen on reading about some of those characters dying. When JK started out writting Potter, it was supposed to be for kids. However, I think most of the teenaged population took that over! So, I kinda think she began to change her main audience focus just a tad. I know if I was ten years younger, I'd be horrified to find out that so and so died.
