KoRn Covers Album

My arguments are in the review, as what a review is meant to have you know actual points regarding the music on display but I will break it down for you.

 

1) It sounds incredibly dated

2) It ONCE AGAIN might I add just chugging guitars

3) The lyrics arent the worst I have heard but they are pretty average at best

4) The hooks all sound the same

5) The guitar work on MOST of the songs is almost identical only with SLIGHTLY different timing

6) The lyrics sound forced, angst and derrived of genuine emotion

7) The studio polish does not cover this up and makes it sound even flatter

8) The sound used to make the album sound in some way darker is the norm, which is what I like to call forced or artificial terror or 'black paint' if you will to make something appear darke then it is.

9) I said stricty to the devote fan base meaning it will probably appeal to the Korn fans but it's unlikely to win them new fans or only partial listeners.

 

yeah alright...but that's only your oppinion....

 

you know...it always seems to me like you try to put down the music...

 

I mean I imagine you sitting there...listening to a CD and just waiting to hear something that you don't like. Why not just take the music for what it is...and stop analyzing every chord and every note.

 

Can you not just enjoy it.

 

To me it was already clear before I read that review that you actually won't like the album because you are not really into Korn.

 

It probably was also in your mind that you won't like it before you even listened to it.

Amerie, Fallout Boy & Justin Timberlakes new singles, I was wrong

 

I dont analyze every note, it was boring did nothing for me & therefor wasnt enjoyable. The isn't anything techniqually redeeming either so on both enjoyment & musicmanship it scores low therefor amounts to a low score.

 

I had in my mind I would really like Lethal Bizzles new album but it was very dissapointing (review pending) same with Gogol Bordello , Interpol and The Chemichal Brothers (again reviews pending)

 

People assume I automatically put down music before I put it to the test, to an extent every critic is objective and yes I am to a degree but I do give an honest listen to lots of new music (several artists a week) which is way more open minded then ALOT of people & as a result some unlikely stuff has remained in my itunes libary.

 

So before anyone once again puts it down to narrow mindedness look at again to the A-Z and look how many people in that topic couldn't even complete a list of 26 bands!

I don't doubt that you are open minded towards music...but yeah...like you said...a lot of times it seems like you already put an album down before you listened to it...

The album is okay, It's not an album to hold your breath over. I have expected something better .. 7/10.

Second of all Korn has gone down hill from Untouchables (but I still like them)

 

Third of all Korn's selftitled album rocks.

 

Fourth of all I am gonna have to give this a listen.

Any shmo can make a good cover. I'm serious.

 

I can sing all sorts of songs...covering takes no talent at all just the ability to memorize and harmonize. Its making actual music, thats the hard thing to do.

 

Korn was good at it once, but they've shot so much crap and drank so much liqour...they are so obsessed with thier money and thier ego they won't put out another decent album ever.

 

Music doesn't come first for Korn anymore...which is why instead of actually doing something, they made a cover's album.

Not every band can take a song, maake it their own and do a good job of it. See RATM - Renegades which is one mean cover album.

 

I don't think Korn will do a very good job as the songs they choose to cover may require technichal ability.

Discussion of an artist my friend involves voicing one opinion of said band, quite frankly Korn have been a joke for a good 7 years now. The new album IS TERRIBLE forgetful mush without any reasson for you to go back to it, it's the simple kind of rock that appeals to people that think they are being clever or alternative so its about as deep as a paddeling pool with no deep end.

Dude, they make amazing covers, as YackieStinger had said Word Up! and Another Brick in the Wall were amazing. you are just being ignorant, and not looking nad listening to the music itself. Don't look at the band as a whole, look at it as a piece of music. KoRn, is also not completely hard as you think they are!

 

They made a cover of Earache My Eye by Cheech and Chong! They also had that song All in the Family which was a complete joke! They don't have such a hardcore image to put out look at them as a band, not an image. People just have a hard time with this.

 

KoRn I believe has there crap, which was tehre original songs, and these past two albums have been amazing. KoRn is not the most amazing band in the world (LP is...lol) So instead of flaming a band, listen to it again, not as KoRn, but as a band you have never heard
