Tool has philosophic lyrics...and their music is hard to listen..they are not LP so you can like all songs after one listening. You need ALOT of time to get into them.

Country music can have ok lyrics Rascall Flatts' Skin was pretty deep.

I think it just requires a certain taste for that kind of music to really appreciate it. I think with the whiny voices and the aching guitars it can be kind of difficult to like.
