Black_Angel Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Has anyone ever tried it? It's always been one of my guilty, secret ambitions lol. I could never do the catwalk stuff but the stills and photographs always look really good. I got bored the other day and registered on www.dieselmodels.co.uk, they looked legit and I never really expected to hear anything back, but I got an email this morning inviting me to a photoshoot in London :| It looks good and I'd like to try it butttt it's a bit expensive and getting all the way to London and back would be a pain! Also I don't think my mum would approve lol. Heres the email they sent me if anyones interested; Hello Alison / Parent, After reviewing your application to Diesel Models (www.dieselmodels.co.uk) we would like to offer you an amazing opportunity to work with industry professionals at The Pure Space Studios in London's West End. We were impressed the image that we have received and we feel that this shoot would be the best next step to help you break into the modelling industry. (For examples of the studios work, please visit their website by clicking on the following link – www.purestudios.net ). All of our applicants are carefully selected and we really feel that this would be a great benefit to you. The studio has offered Diesel Models a limited number of 4 hour fashion shoots for people serious about trying to break into the industry. The address for the studio is – The Pure Space Studios 75 Great Titchfield Street Oxford Circus London W1W 6RE (Please refer to www.purestudios.net and select the studio location option which will allow you to see a map of where the studio is situated.) What we do at Diesel Models is help people get started in the modelling industry – we are not an agency, so we don't find work for you directly. But, as you may be aware, it is a very difficult industry to get into without any help so that is where we come in. We would like to invite you to visit our studio, so we can see your potential as a model and you can see what the industry is like. This gives you the opportunity to build on to your portfolio which you can then start sending off to the agencies on our website, which are on our website for you to contact and arrange work with. Diesel Models will cover the cost of the day for you. This will include a personal makeup artist, a hairstylist and a professional freelance photographer for that day. There is a portfolio you can purchase; there is no obligation to buy it, but if you did turn out to be successful and showed modelling potential, you would need one to approach a modelling agency. Images start at £50 and the more of those that you buy the more the price of images come down. So please do come prepared on the day so that if your shoot goes well you would be able to purchase your images and not be disappointed. The images are only available on the day of the shoot. The studio we would send you to is a very high profile fashion studio in the centre of London. They work with professional freelance photographers that work for top magazines and papers in the country. Because they are so high profile they ask us to only bring in serious clients for them, so they ask, in order to ensure client attendance, that we take a refundable booking deposit of £50. As long as you turn up for the appointment, it is refunded back to you completely, no deductions made. The deposit is only lost if you (1) do not show up, (2) cancel or (3) re-schedule, as the people at Pure Space have very busy schedules which we cannot afford to mess around with. Also, if you fail to show for your appointment (and this includes cancellation), Diesel Models will not cover the cost of the hiring of the studio, and this will be billed to you at a cost of £135. This has never happened, and we do not expect it to happen – however, we need to make you aware of the terms and conditions, as with the opportunity we are offering, we are investing time and money in you that we do not wish to see wasted. We will send you a confirmation pack once the appointment has been confirmed with yourself and the studio, containing a letter giving you your appointment date and time, a full written receipt of the booking deposit transaction and a full list of directions to Pure Space Studio. Please call me on 0207 636 8886 as soon as possible to further discuss your fashion shoot, Only 8 invitations have been given out and approximately 25 people have been given the opportunity to ensure we only book in individuals who are serious about this opportunity. As you are under 18 it would be best if you got a parent to call me back so I can talk with them in detail about this opportunity. -- Best wishes, Jenny Brawls Diesel Models 0207 636 8886 Mmmm It sounds legit and everything but I'm kinda undecided whether to call or not... so yeah has anyone ever done this before? Or know of anyone who's gone to one of these things before??? Help would be much appreciated! Quote i still love you, girl from mars.

Tomer Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 You don't get this kind of opportunity every day.. if it's really what u want to do... take advantage of the opportunity and go for it. I mean how bad can it be if you have nothing to lose :-) Quote GONE (Thanks everyone for the good memories)
UnhingedMouse0 Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 As far as I know there are plenty of scams in the modelling world so just be careful. I think though since you were the one who started this and it wasnt just some random person coming up to you in a mall going "You should be a model, here pay a large sum for our course and we will help you." it has a greater chance of being legit. Its always worth looking into, it could be a really great opportunity, but again, just be cautious and watch what you sign. Good luck. Quote [ R.I.P. LPF ]
twilightcrimson7 Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Ahhh! You would be such a good model! Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/caa111db447cb1d28d713cebad979c8d.png ...:away and onward:...
Victim Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Well, seeing as you went to them first, and they didn't come to you, I would suspect that there are pretty high chances of them being legit. I say if its something you wanna do.. Go for it. You never know when this opportunity will come again Quote http://www.sucksbbs.net/data/MetaMirrorCache/305186a372bb061b2ab713febbdc560a.jpg
