Yeah, I don't know what to consider metal anymore...so it's hard for me to agree to disagree

Yeah...metal has changed alot in the past twenty years. Mostly due to mainsteam acceptance, which has allowed many other bands with experimental styles to thrive.

Metal is another genre of music...and genres of music are used to help convey the message of the song. If double bass pedals, thrashing bass, lightening guitars solos, and growling vocals is how someone is choosing to express themselves, then let it be.

For real. Give me a postive metal band over a satanic acoustic band anyday.

And then I felt chills in my bones / The breath I saw was not my own

I knew my skin that wrapped my frame / Wasn't made to play this game

^ Yessssss I so get what you mean here!

Happens to me all the time, people look at me and think that because I'm quiet and kinda shy that I must listen to boybands and pop and all that sorta stuff, but when I tell them that my favourite band is Muse they're like ZOMG REALLY!!!1 and I'm like, errrr yeah haha. Also with Alkaline Trio and Funeral For A Friend, they expect the typical fan of these bands to be emo and all clad in black wearing too much eyeliner and being all mopey and depressed and everything, wheras I'm generally happy and wear COLOURS :0

yeah, i really understand you girls!!

I mean, I listen to many bands of many types of metal, that's my mood atm.. but i dont go around all dressed in black (actually I really love black, but it's just ME, not somebody said to me how and what i have to dress!!) and i'm not agressive or rude and all that stuff... i really don't understand why we have to look like what we listen to... is there some kind of rules for that??? i listen to metal, i've gotta wear black and be depressed? i listen to hip hop, i've gotta wear wide trousers and be into a gang?

that's stupid, seriously...

Well, my dear this is the problem of living in a stereotyped world... and I've always thought that this is one of the inheritance our grandparents and parents have given to us. It's like a new jumper your mum buy you. You like it, it's ok, but it'd better if you decorate it with some things... you know, make it yours, personal, unique.

We've the planet as our unique home, so, if we want a better world, we've to fight for it, havent we? Anyway, I think it's so sad that nowadays people think they've the total right to classify you as you look like, not as you're as a person. Everybody says we're (the human) the most developed animal, but I still think that we cannot be so developed when we still classify ourself like that: your clothes are dark, you're a radical gothic....oh, but your clothes are pink, you're a stupid posh.... you wear a Metallica's shirt; there is no doubt: you're a foolish heavy without mind (and if you've it you only think in beers and women... and in guitars!!)... but if we find someone who wears posh clothes but loves ACDC... we feel lost. where can we classify "this thing"??.. oh, God, and after this we still think we're wise.... where is our knowledge??? Can anyone tell it to me?:'(
